My Rippetoe

I lift on friday after an MMA Session, Sunday is also MMA day and tuesday depends if I can get to BJJ practice or not.

I try to keep the lifting day seperate but sometimes it isn’t possible.

And mrodock, I’ll try to get some new video of the squat up soon.

A small update after a month orso:

I weigh 164 pounds

For the moments these are the numbers I can put up.

Deadlift: 182 pounds
Squat: 180 pounds
Benchpress: 130 pounds

Military press: 92.6 pounds
powerclean: 97 pounds

I have gained some strenght and about 8 pounds of mass.
I have another month of decent training ahead, after this I will go on vacation.

Today was a good day :slight_smile:

I added 4 pounds to the squat today and the deadlift.
Benching also went good and smooth, had a nice vibe going today xD

I am really starting to like it, I used to really hate it when I had to do it.
But now it has become a routine I feel no trouble with it anymore!

My Goal is to go up to 185 pounds for my MMA and BJJ competitions.
I know 20 pounds still is a long way to go but I am very happy with the way things are going :slight_smile:

My Squat has gone up by 4 pounds last training, The military press stayed the same because of a bad left shoulder during MMA practice. (Stupid Omoplate ;p )
The Powerclean can be set higher next practice, so I am not worried.

Hey if your form feels real good don’t hesitate to throw on a little more weight once in a while. Shoot some days I’ll just add 10-20 lbs to a lift by just by going at it with no holds bar intensity.

You’re starting out at a much bigger weight then I did. I started at a 126 lbs @ 5"11. Took me almost a year to get to your weight !! You’ll hit 185 in no time.

I hope so, A day or 2 I added about 16 pounds for a set of squats and I could pull it off.
But I did feel my lowerback not being happy about it.
Tomorrow I’ll try to add 8 pounds to the squat and perform it better.

Have been doing fine lately, Squats and Deads are up by 8 pounds. I have been feeling pretty good.
Benches are also up by 8 pounds, but I feel like I will stay on this weight for next practice too.
It kinda was pushing it :stuck_out_tongue:

Either way, I’m still alive and lifting!

hey guys, after being sick for a while and suffering an injury I have been told not to train for a month.
I’ll resume training on July 19th…
Prety upset about this considering I really felt the urge to keep pushing and pulling.

Either way I am excited about the coming days and I am bulking up a little bit so I can rest up and blast the muscle fibers back into shape starting July 19th!
