P.S. CBear in chains is very hot. I’m shocked that the SAMA guys aren’t all in here gawking.
I’m surprised, too.
gawking doesn’t equal posting. I’m ok with that.

I know. I figure i’d play on the fact that i’m considered a SAMA guy and just post a response…you know…like I was a gawker. It was an attempt at being funny. I suck:(

Hey, with both you and Kimbakimba giving me invites, how can I refuse?
(irl, you need a carpet square and a juice cup for my stories. they’re long, and sometimes i forget why i started telling them.)
Today was week 2 day number last of my 5/3/1. (kinda. it was sposed to be sunday, but with school and travel i missed my workout opportunities on thurs and fri) which in my world, means squats for triples.
I trained with Jim today before i left (lucky me!! no sarcasm!), and he suggested I do cambered bar squats, bc i dont have that opportunity at my hillbilly gym. After several warmup sets he informs me that the bar weighs 80lbs. After some quick math (imw, quick math involves stones, an abacus, and someone looking over my shoulder. if im not at work and it’s not money i don’t care enough), i realized i had just done 170 for 3. Felt… RATHER EASY, i’m pleased to say.
so a few sets later he says i’m gonna do a single. mkay. i trusts him. more quick math says there’s now 230 on the bar. like whoa. wtf. I started this whole thing with the lower body strength of a 12year old. I could bench 135 before I could squat it.
and I got it. Forgot to bring MY camera, though, so Jim’s roomie taped it with Jim’s iPhone. Now it’s up to Jim to post it for me.
but first, the criticisms (bc i don’t give a shit about the compliments, I did it and that’s all that matters there):
i need to use my core strength more, to keep myself from “free falling” on the way down. there’s a possibility that someday I would free fall and end up squishing on the floor, rather than being able to pull myself up outta the hole.
using a cambered bar is much easier than a straight bar for some people, much more difficult for others. I see now which one I am, but I am not to try that much weight without a real spotter (rare at my gym. most of the spotters round here just kinda… watch… sorta.) for at least a little while longer.
so that was a 25lb pr for me, even tho the bars are different. Im the strongest person in the world rite now.
Joegood–> yes! with pics!! your mouth and tummy will be very happy!
print–> wtf u been?
tootles–> when I saw the video I realized HOW pale I am. I figured that not being out much this summer ensured a state of near-albinism, but the video really put it in perspective. - YouTube
GTFO!!! You have a “journal”. (I say that in the least pussified way!
Ima gonna pull up a chain and watch the show! Love the vids btw.
I vote 12% myself, but I agree that holding it would give us better perspective. Just remember though, if they see were you put your foot, they are gonna wanna see where you pee from…just sayin’.

I’ve been working on that “self restraint” thing Jim keeps talking so much about, and I refrained from taking off my shoe in the restaurant and putting it on the table with our food.

230?!?! Man, oh man. You kicked some serious ass right there. I want video too! So that I can cheer (in a non-pussified way).
Apparently you and your guy don’t live in the same place? That sucks.[/quote]
no, we live 250 miles apart. I picked him out from molly’s lifting videos, discussed the idea with her, then we informed Jim he had to meet me.
lol @ “click to add to cart” jokes.
works out pretty well, actually. we’d never get anything done if we lived closer/together. I hafta finish school up here, and that will give him a few years to get used to me.
