The fact of the matter is you have to either be very brilliant (entreprenurial), extremely skilled in a trade, or damn lucky to have even a remotely comfortable living without graduating from college.
A private Christian college like Bob Jones University?
Indeed, Harris. BJ University is one of the rare institute for higher education that praises and recognizes America’s savior Lord Jesus.
It produces fine citizens for the country every year who turn out to become honest capitalists and skilled preachers.
In faith,
Fahd

Not everyone recognizes this person as a savior. Many people do not see him as divine. Of course, you probably didnt realize that Islam does, so you probably wouldnt have allowed a school that was Islamic in affiliation.
How many skilled biologists, doctors, chemists, pharmacists, attorney, park rangers, personal trainers, teachers, farmers, etc, etc do they produce. A person with a strong mind wouldnt need to be protected from a school that doesnt see the faith of one people as fact. You should have the ability to attend what place of higher learning that has the best program for you.
The school doesnt produce “honest” I think. I would doubt it would be the school’s methods and not the people (not that you have any idea if they are actually honest or not). The school produces capitalists, which would have probably had better ethics course at public schools.

It’s a joke site. Here’s their mission statement:
Adequacy Mission Statement
There are a number of people who have opinions that don’t quite fit the norm. Because of this, they aren’t welcome in many places. This is where they exercise their right to speak, where the dreams of tomorrow take flight today.
This site is aimed at middle class white male professionals - the sort of people who have been sadly sidelined by today’s victim culture, and the domination of homosexuals, geeks, amputees, racial minorities and Canadians, who have all risen up with their discrimination laws and ‘equality’ to sadly control the media agenda.
These people are not welcome here. This is where we make a stand. This is where we fight back.
This site is also squarely aimed at the marginalised of society – homosexuals, geeks, amputees, racial minorities and Canadians, who remain in a state of oppression, kept down by the dominant white male patriarchy and by insufficiently rigorous ‘discrimination’ laws and the corporate media.
These people are welcome here. This is where we make a stand. This is where we fight back.
Controversial opinions, passionately held. We Are Adequacy.org.

The scary things is that on the Internet these days, I really have a hard time distinguishing between sites that are a joke and those that are 100% serious. I honestly think that site might not be a joke.

If you’re still in doubt, check the FAQ page:
What time is it?
It is 9:32.
How do I get back to the expressway?
You want to keep going straight until you hit the stoplight at Maple, and then take a right. Go three blocks until you hit 41st, and then take another right. The on-ramp will be about 300 yards ahead.
How are things going?
Aside from the prostate operation? Pretty damned good.
Paper or plastic?
Plastic, you tree-hugging hippie.
How do I kill Ganon?
You need to run around the chamber, randomly slashing with the Master Sword until you happen to hit him. At that point, you need to quickly switch to the Bow and Arrow and shoot a Light Arrow at him. Do this five or six times and you will recover the Triforce easily.
What day is it?
It is Tuesday. [update, by jsm] it’s Wednesday. [update, by spiralx] it’s now Thursday.[update, by dmg] it is now Tuesday again.

In case you all haven’t realized from his other posts, fahd does not like America or Americans. All he does is post negative banter regarding America.
I wouldn’t go that far, but it is funny…that I bet there are people who think this way. They just don’t want to post in this thread now.
I’m still wondering why you didn’t get the joke LOL! I guess some people are a bit dense…
Your first post on this thread:
That article sucks. I can’t believe people think like that. The worst part is, I know that more out there do think like this. This is the kind of person who, in the act of raising kids, doesn’t expect to raise a confident individual who is strong willed with decent values who can THINK FOR HIS/HER SELF. They want a puppet of their own creation that acts just like they want them to act in all circumstances.
In today’s world, long gone are the days where a kid can make a decent living with only a high school diploma (if ever a day actually existed). Hell, even a basic college degree today isn’t enough for the most part. This author wants to ignore all of this because some kid he knew didn’t act the way he thought they should act on a vacation from college? It wasn’t even his kid.
He wants to force his own kids to achieve less in life because he doesn’t want them to act outside of the circle he’s force them to be trained within? Raising independent children is one thing to be applauded. Raising puppets is not. Tradition is great…however, there is youth for a reason. I think change actually creates fear in some people.
Thanks.
My favourite part of the article:
“Since the illusion of college has been so effectively shattered for me, I have revised my expectations for my children. None will attend college, but instead, they will find jobs in the industries that made America great. The industries upon which our nation was built. I will be proud to be the first father in my town to count among my children an auto-worker, a soldier, a steel miner, a secretary, a beautician and a waitress. These are noble and honest trades, despite their unglamorous image”
As a previous poster said, it is fear that motivates people to think like this. If I were as uptight and puritan as the person who wrote it, I would think I would have enough sense to educated myself on ‘subcultures’, so that I could put together a good argument. The only thing this rant does is prove ignorance.
My favorite part is the institutionalized rape, (dormitories) as if those living in the dormitories have no choice in the matter.
Not to be confused with actual rape, which is very serious. neither do I believe that it is always a black and white issue. end of disclaimer
That was an entertaining read (joke or not). Now while it’s hilarious that there are people who believe such a thing, I find it even funnier that there are people that believe going to college means you’re gonna get a good job and makes lots of money.
List of some interesting jobs held by some gun-ho college graduates I know (they may not speak for all graduates, as I am one, but you might know someone like this)
Business Majors-
Grocery clerk
Fish Farmer
Rental Car agent
Towel Boy @ a health spa
IT majors-
Record store clerk
Gas station attendant (more like convenience store clerk)
Parks & Rec janitor
Garbage Man
Psych Majors-
PE teacher
24hr fitness personal trainer
8th yr earning second undergrad degree
Entertaining, sad, or okay post-undergrad and post-grad jobs what matters is that these people are happy in what they are doing. It may have taken over $50k for them to figure out what they wanted to do…but I think the truth is twisted a bit too vague- It’s the player who needs to step up to the game, not the game that makes the player.
