My Journey to Getting STRONG

Military press looking strong dude! Weirdly enough the Military press is quickly becoming my favourite movement, it can be very humbling at times.

Thanks phlegms. I do like it, although, like bench it takes its time progressing…haha!

This gif was too hilarious not to post…sure some people have seen it…LOL

VeLOLsiraptor. Chalk and common sense would’ve saved that poor soul from interwebz infamy.

Meh, they would probably give it to him in a meet. I recognized a potential upper back weakness, though; see how his shoulders go forward (along with the rest of him)?

After I watched this I had to comment…Your form is awful mate, and you are just jerking the weight up and down…You oughtta lower the weight a bit and focus on your form and feeling your back actually working…just a tip…

Thanks for dropping in Hinton. The bb rows are not meant to be strict. They are meant to move as much weight as I can, safely. Believe it or not, I do feel my back working. I will from time to time do a strict dropset, or strict bb rows. But. these are working for me very well.

225x14?! Thats crazy volume, you must of felt like you got hit by a truck after that set haha!

Thanks mmatt! Good to see you posting again!

Phlegms, yeah I did hahaha. Then I watched the video and was pissed that it was 14 and I had miscounted! Lol.

NOTES: Having a dedicated tricep day is really going to help my triceps strength. Everything felt great and could feel it. Goal was for higher volume, which I think I accomplished pretty well. Great day!

That dedicated tricep day sounds brutal!

Looks like you had yourself a pumptastic PR day lol.

Phlegms, it felt great and was pretty brutal.

AC, def was pumptastic…some are cheap PRs (hence why I didnt put PRs for the cable exercise, etc) mainly focusing on the CGBP and RGBP for PR’s, other stuff iz 4 ze pumpz!

Is your lax season over yet? Do you think youll ever switch back to 5/3/1? You were making fantastic progress on it. I cant help but to notice that your progress has slowed since you stopped.

Yeah, lax season is over. I definitely will utilize 5/3/1 again. I did make great gains on it. To tell you the truth I dont feel my progress has slowed at all since I stopped. When I stopped 5/3/1 my bench was a tough 205x1, military press was a tough 135x1, deadlift was 315x1 and squat was 265x1. Since then, i have benched 205x2x2, military press 135x5, deadlift 355x3 and 365x2 and squatted 285x3. I honestly dont feel like my progress has slowed down at all, I’d venture to say it has picked up some.

Appreciate you dropping into my log man!

Nice Tricep day! Lots of PRs too.

Those DB Floor presses seem familiar haha. How’d you like them?
