Oh right, Coan Phillipi. You mentioned this before. That’d be sick if you pull 405 by then.

Been a bit since I’ve posted. Last week was spring break which consisted of lacrosse for half of it, the other half was spent relaxing a couple days at home. This week we have two lacrosse games, of course on my training days. Then there is practice the other days. Going to find somewhere to squeeze in one session this week, I am thinking either tomorrow morning or wednesday between classes. I am also thinking I am going to lift saturday and sunday as well so I can get 3 days in this week. I am having freaking withdrawals. Haven’t been in the gym for a while, it sucks but thats life I guess!

Stay strong.

I was beginning to wonder what was up haha.

I can only imagine how bad the withdrawal was lol.

It’s good to see you posting again. Looking forward to seeing some PRs busting sessions!

NOTES: Great session. Feels awesome to be back in the gym. 165x9 is a significant bench rep and weight PR. The singles work feels great as well, I think 5/3/1 reloaded is going to work out great! On DB MP, when I got the 65s up I felt like i was going to pass out lol. Pullups felt good. Good grip work with those too, they were done on a fat bar and no knurling…talk about a pain. Pin presses felt good and it was nice to use more weight. Awesome session overall!

Very nice work man! Your bench is lookin’ pretty sweet.

Its not bad man…haha. Thanks buddy!

Im really not sure how to set up my training lately. I like the 3/5/1 style of lifting. Still obviously looking to achieve my main goals of 315/225/405 by end of april. As the days pass, the light at the end of the tunnel seems to be getting dimmer and dimmer. For my squats, my best is 245x5 or 6 and deadlift best is 335x2. Deadlift I was thinking about running the Coan Philippi routine…but maybe 3/5/1? For squats I was thinking 3/5/1 or just keep doing what I’m doing which is pretty much linear progression.

Another thing I was looking at was that routine which Tim Henriques posted recently 8-Week Basic Strength Plan

Man sometimes I feel I am my own worst enemy…haha

Any reason why you aren’t sure about how you want to set up your training?

I know how you feel about wanting to change things up, but I’d just pick something and go with it. Pick something and really hammer at it.

The only reason I can think of why Im not sure is the fact that I really want to meet my goals by end of april and like I said, Im starting to see the light dim. It’s not that I want to change things up really. I do think I’m going to run 3/5/1. I’m trying to figure out a way to do it 3x a week though with the 4 exercises. Definitely want to have a day for squat, bench and dead but need to incorporate push presses 3/5/1 style in there somewhere.

Oh ok. Well you could cycle through each of the 4 lifts before restarting. It would just take longer than one week. I don’t see why we should constrict our training because of things like weeks and months. They are helpful, but shouldn’t constrict us.

So you could squat Monday, bench Wednesday, DL Friday, and OHP Monday. Then go through the same pattern again except you start on Wednesday. I hope that makes sense.

For deloads you could just take a week off after you’ve gone through each exercise three times.

Hope that sort of brightens the light at the end of the tunnel for you.

Yeah, thats what I did when I ran 5/3/1. Im trying to set it up though where I hit the 3 lifts im focusing on (squat/bench/dead) while still incorporating OHP in my 3 days a week when I’m training. Essentially shortening a cycle in hopes of helping me to reach my goals.

Oh ok. All I can think of is just doing some OHPing as assistance. I’d ask the BOI to see if they have any thoughts.
