Weighed in this morning at 196.0 Been eatin all day long, feel awesome. Training partner looked great warming up but ended up bombing out on squats…sucks. Just couldnt get set up right, fell forward on one, fell backwards on another and locked out the last one but fell backwards. Oh well, on to the next one for him.
Tomorrow morning at 9 it begins for me…
good luck mayn. sink them squats
Little update from the meet. Things didnt go that great and the only thing that went kinda right were the squats. Could say it was cause of various things such as the 14 hour drive but in reality I just need to get stronger.
Squats
370 smoked, 3 whites
410 miss, was an idiot, not tight and for some reason dive bombed it
410 3 whites, first double bw squat 50lb meet PR
Bench
255 miss, wtf didnt budge…
255 miss, wtf again, lost it forward for some reason
255 3 whites, smoked it…why didnt this happen first attempt… 10lb meet PR
Deadlifts
410 3 whites, not bad not great
435 miss, didnt feel right wtf
435 miss, didnt feel right again wtf
Total
4/9…1075…wow, wtf… 30lb total PR
Overall, squatting went ok, benches and deads went so weird. I still dont understand what happen with either of them. Guess it just wasn’t my day…
Looking at the big picture, you’ve still made progress. Like you said, it just wasn’t your day. Next meet will be better.
Weird, I had my max day and set a PR on squats but failed on both bench and deadlift too.
Great work on the squat though… your way ahead of me there buddy, starting to get respectable for sure. Here’s to smashing everything next time we max. I know you will with the training partners/support around you.

w/ wrapz?
Solid lifts! Really good progress, looking forward to your next meet already brah!
Thanks spar4tee, yeah thats how Im looking at it. Thanks everyone else, yes with wraps.
410 squat, only thing worth posting from this weekend.
I’d recommend giving yourself a bit more time to build your lifts before the next meet.
I can’t say I agree. A typical training cycle should run around 12 weeks. This training cycle went very well and in the end I didn’t perform when the time came. No excuses, need to look at what worked, what didn’t and take this as a learning experience.

So you’re doing another meet at the end of the next training cycle?
REDEMPTION SUCKA! GET SOME!
Dude, that squat was DEEP as fuck man, props for that. Props on the mohawk too, lol.
Don’t sweat a crap meet. Your strength IS there. I think the plan of hitting another 12 week cycle to dial in everything further, hammer away at some weak points, and you’ll be happy with the results.
So is there another meet near you in June/July time?

A training cycle can run anywhere from 12-16 weeks. Thats not to say you have to do a meet after it. Typically your training cycle is created after you pick a meet so you can organize it and peak properly.

Thanks man. Right now I’m not sure when the next meet will be. Gotta see what works out school, money, time, and location wise haha.

Okay. I was just suggesting that maybe taking more time in between meet prep to get stronger wouldn’t be such a bad idea. At least that’s how I’d go about it. Wasn’t implying the cycle was a failure.
