My First Time

Last night I hit a PR. Completely unexpected. I’d spent the whole long weekend out of town with the wife and kids for a soccer tournament, and when we got back everybody went for a nap and I went outside to lift. Started off with some jumping squats, then moved on to clean and jerks. 270 lbs. for 2 reps! And it felt GREAT! My previous was a 255 single.
So now I’m setting some new goals for the end of this cycle, 300 C+J and 500 deadlift.

My last 2 injections have been in the shoulders, just to try it out and give my ass-cheeks a rest, and so far so good. A little sore.

Nice!!! Breaking personal goals is always good.

I notice you said you went away with the faimly for a bit so you had a good rest period. Do you think that helped a bit with setting this new personal best? Or did you have a training spot already lined up?

Oh and since your well into your cycle besides the people that have known from the start has anyone asked about your gains or has it been biz as usual?

I was surprised to hit the PR. I just thought, what the hell, why not try it? I still trained over the weekend, and I didn’t sleep as well (I never do away from home), so I thought it was just going to be a day to work on movements and speed.

Nobody’s really asked me about my weight gain. Just the guys at the gym. I think I look healthier carrying around the extra weight, since before the cycle I wasn’t recovering very well from my training. I FEEL healthier.

Weighed in this morning at 231 lbs! I wasn’t expecting that! This means that after 7 weeks on test I’ve put on 20 lbs. And it’s pretty solid too (I’ve still got visible abs). I’m assuming that all the running, fieldwork, and sparring, in addition to the lifting, is keeping me lean, since I haven’t had any problems with bloat.

My body’s metabolism is just running better, since my only dietary change has been bumping up my protein intake by 50 grams a day since starting the cycle. I’m still eating lots of carbs all day as usual.

Hey JR-

As usual, appreciate the updates. How goes the delt injections over the glute injections? Up to this point, had you tried any quad injections?

5.0

I didn’t like the delt injections, or the quads either (week 4), but I think that’s more personal, due the abuse they take in kickboxing. Having someone punch or kick you in an injection site isn’t pleasant.
I went back to glutes this week and tried duhast’s frozen spoon/rubbing alcohol trick, and it works GREAT! No lumps and no soreness, I highly recommend trying this. I will definitely continue doing this for every injection from now on. Big thanks out to duhast!

I’m really LOVING this cycle now. Squats yesterday, and another PR! 365 lbs. for 3 reps, when last year my 1RM was 355.

Great thread, thanks!

Nice keep up the good work!

why can’t this shit be legal? God damnit… i wanna try it so bad next year… Good luck with the rest of the cycle… keep updating!

Probably the best thing about being on test right now is the SUPER-FAST recovery from any kind of workout you can throw at your body. Last night I grappled HARD for 2 hours. 10 min. on the mat with 5 min. breaks. The floor was a greasy pool of sweat afterwards. I was wiped out.

Today, up at 5AM for a run and then the gym. FRESH! No aching muscles, and after only 7 hours of sleep.

Being able to put out maximum effort every training session and know that you’ll be fine the next day is huge for the confidence.

Wow that sounds impressive. I never knew it would do that for you. Damn …Thats one of the reasons I quit doing Kempo was the recover time from all the bumps, bruising and breaks.

Keep up the hard training!

I’m also following this, pretty good log!

What city in Van are you in?

Ok, checked out the whole thread…great stuff bro.

I have been doing a couple logs on the merit of two weekers back to back with powerful orals, and as I said, am getting ready to go at it with the injectables…

        really enjoying finding this.

great work on lifts and all bro.

Thanks TBN. I’ve been reading your logs with great interest too, since I’d like to try something similar down the road (next year).

I live farther north up the coast in a small community. Lived in east-Vancouver for about 10 years but I never could get used to it. I still go into the “big city” maybe once/twice a month for work-related stuff, so I try to train with my old clubs when I’m there.

Today I hit 295 lbs. x 2 reps for the front squat, after doing power-cleans with 245. This makes me think that my goal of a 300 clean/jerk is possible.

Something else interesting, yesterday I had a full day off, no training, and by the end of the day my body seemed to have “filled out”. I don’t have a scale at home so I can only guess, but I definitely looked heavier (in a good way). The bloat only shows up on days when I don’t run/spar.

damn this is a great log your keeping. i hope i can do the same when i go to thailand or sooner if i can find a source. i miss juicing. i know how it feels man, i was never sore but also didn’t do all the training you did. just lifted and ran for physical fitness with the army.

This is a brilliant thread. I also compete in judo, and my stats in the weight room and physical size are pretty close to where you started so this is of particular interest to me. Keep the updates coming, I’m interested to see how training goes during the taper.

I would wait until your nipples start to itch. With just 500 mg weekly you might not need it at all.

Hello again everybody,

I posted back here in November regarding my first cycle, got some good advice and encouragement, and was ready to go. But, the plan got pushed back a bit because of some family stuff.

Anyways, I gave myself my first shot of test. enanthate last night. 500 mg. (for 10 weeks then a taper) It went pretty well, I think. I thought that I might forget something important, but I guess all this time lurking and learning from you guys made the process seem simple. So, thanks.

I know that it’s going to be a few weeks before the test “kicks in” but man did I have a good workout this morning, and again this evening. Must be the placebo effect right now, so until I start feeling it for real I’m going to be front-loading on the excitement.

Thought I might keep a record of my cycle here. Maybe it’ll help someone else out as I learn along the way.

And so… my first question is, when should I start taking my Arimidex?

Do you have before and after photo’s? That would be a nice comparison. Keep up the log and hard work. Good Job.
