My Doctor is Dooming my Treatment

Hi guys. I am a 27 year old male. I was first diagnosed with low t in the early months of 2017 and have been on trt since then. When i was first diagnosed, my T level were below 250. I dont remember where my free testosterone was at. I have been seeing my current Endo for almost an entire year now and he’s literally destroying my life. When i first started my treatment, i was taking .05 cc from a 200mg vial of cypionate. After some blood work, my test came back at around 400 something and my Doctor told me to start injecting myself 0.6. when i first started he wanted me to inject twice a week, but i read that its better to do it once a week. Let me add that my doctor is around his late 50’s early 60’s and very prideful and arrogant. When i started taking 0.6 i started getting really bad acne on my back and swelling on my hands and feet. I had scheduled an appointment to speak to the doctor about this, I told him that i had done some research and that it might be due to high estrogen. Well of course my Doctor said that i was wrong but he gave me a prescription to get some blood work done. My estrogen came back a little higher than usual. He was surprised and said that it’s not a problem, that my body will correct itself. After a few months of injecting 0.6 cc a week, i had another blood test. my T level were above 800 and my estrogen was through the roof. The worst park is that the doctor acted like it was somehow my fault. Like i was the one who decided to inject myself 0.6 cc. He then had me drop it down to 0.4 cc. He said the reason my body is producing so much estrogen is because my body has a capping point, and whatever testosterone my body doesnt need, it will turn into estrogen. I asked him what i can do about the acne and he said my body should be able to correct itself. I also asked him about the estrogen, and he said once my body starts receiving less testosterone, the estrogen will go down on its own. I also asked him about HCG and how i read that HCG goes hand in hand with trt because HCG reverses the testicular atrophy and that prolonged testicular atrophy can lead to permanent organ damage, and i might never be able to have children. He said no, that i was wrong and that men who take HCG on trt only do it for vanity because they want bigger balls. He also said that Hcg is taken while on trt to have kids only when a man is ready to have kids because if the HCG is taken for a prolonged amount of time, it will lose its effectiveness. I asked him about taking an anti estrogen and he said that it is not necessary because as long as i am doing the correct treatment, my estrogen should be in its normal ranges. Well now it’s been 2 months that im on 0.4 cc and i do feel a slight bit more energetic and my hard ons are actually harder than before, and my sex drive is pretty good, i still feel like my doctor sucks at his job when it comes to trt because i feel like i am barely reaping any benefit. he also said that men at my age should not surpass a t level of 600 something. He basically places all patients in a t level range based on their age. He doesnt work with the patient based on symptoms. I have an appointment with a younger endo from turkey that works here in miami for the hospital at university of miami. im hoping hes different and doesnt use this old age view of trt. this doctor is ruining my life. please guys, i need advice, help, anything.

It sounds as though you are now taking 80mg/week, in one injection, correct?

Do you know what your levels are at this dose? Did the acne clear up?

Regarding the hCG, many long time anabolic steroid users have been able to conceive after starting hCG. However, nothing wrong with using it concurrently with testosterone, may need to reduce the test dose accordingly and may have increased estrogen symptoms.

Arrogant doctors don’t like informed patients, when they detect you know more than them you will see attitude and it’s time to locate another open minded doctor who will work with you and not against you. Testosterone converts into DHT and just like when you were a teenager, you will get acne when it goes above your genetic set point. Lowering the dosage is the correct move rather than using drugs to control it.

It’s sounds like HCG and Arimidex isn’t part of your doctors toolbox, he obviously doesn’t feel comfortable prescribing drugs outside of his field of knowledge. He doesn’t seem to want to learn how to read blood biomarkers to determine where you should be within the ranges, so puts guys into a range based on age. We all know everyone has an optimal ranges that isn’t always near the top. I get terrible ance in the 600 ranges, so I’m one of those whose naturally midrange in my 20’s.

I don’t know what my levels are just yet. I go for blood work August. Let’s see where it’s at.

I have an appointment with a different Endo on August. Hopefully he’s better informed.

In the mean time I would recommend splitting your dosage. For me this made a positive impact on my estrogen.
