My Blog

I want to major in economics or political science in college, and I figured a blog on the subject(s) would be a good thing to start. I’ve opened it up with a paper I wrote for my english class. I plan on writing some very simple sounding (and more emotionally written) pieces on econ, current events, and social issues.

I appreciate any ideas and comments. It isn’t very pretty yet.

Switch major to “undeclared”. better job prospects.

Now that I got that joke out of the way, let’s get to your blog. Great topics, would like to see some more links to articles or other blogs.

The blue background gets annoying after you read for a few minutes.
Focus on the stuff you have the most experience in, if you want your blog known for criticizing unions, go for it. If you want to debunk mainstream media about global warming, do it.

I shall return to your blog 2 weeks from now, and I might or might not bookmark it. It’s up to you.

I think it’s a great idea. I’ve thought about doing this myself. More in the form of a journal as I wouldn’t necessarily post it anywhere.

I wish I would have done this when I was a bit younger. It would be fun to go back and look at what and how I was thinking. Especially my transformation from someone not interested in politics or economics, to someone very interested and very opinionated.

I think I am to the point now where my views are not going to change tremendously. It might still be interesting for my kids, or their future kids, to read when I croke.

I say blog away. You won’t reget it. Make sure you save it for prosperity.

what sort of background do you think I should have?

If you’re set on either Econ or Poli Sci, I would tell you 1,000 times over to go into Economics.

The information you learn is very useful in everyday life, in addition to being marketable. Neither is true with a political science degree.

That said, economics is a lot more quantitative than economic-virgins tend to think. If you struggle with math and numbers, Econ might be difficult for you.

Try proofreading, for starters.

White.
You can keep the blue on the top, and on the sides where the pics and ads are. Look around at other blogs and see if you can steal some design ideas.
