Was targeting my peak of 275 in the 4th set but when I got done with my 2nd set (255) I was wondering if i started too high, so stayed at the 255. Set 3 felt good so I continued the progression and got 275 in my 5th set. Lower back was feeling kinda taxed so I dropped the weight a bunch for set 7, after finishing, I think I could have gone a tad higher at the peak and for set 7 for sure. Overall, pretty happy with the lifts.
This week is going quickly, I am not as sore as I expected to be. Its hard to really compare back to my mess of a week 1 but making progress I thinks.

Get yourself a dip belt at some point and do chest dips. They’ll work your chest better than bench IMO. I hate barbell bench press though so I could be biased.

I don’t get it… whats wrong with my log? Did I miss something? should I have included the spreadsheets? the graphs? the simulations? statistical variance data???
HAH! just kidding! I do find it hilarious you would say that tho but im taking it as a compliment And no there are no simulations or variance data or graphs or spreadsh… ok, there is a spreadsheet

I think it has helped you out alot and been probably a key to your consitent success.
Very nice job.
Thanks, I like to think it helps! I hope in the end it works out as well as it did in the simulation…

I got one of those, actually my routine before this involved doing a lot of weighted dips, they are great! I love em. I take some comfort in knowing I’m not the only one who hates BB bench
When I got to work today I got an interesting surprise. Turns out I’m going to Minneapolis next week for a few days. That gotta be Karma from bitching about the “cold” here so much!
will be a quick trip, flying out Sunday and will be back home Tuesday evening I hope.
Ahh well, not much to do but suck it up and enjoy the ride. Not yet sure how the food is going to go but I see many a meto bar over those few days…
I think I got lucky and found a gym bout 5 mins from my hotel (if i remember right) the dude on teh phone sounds cool enough, will see when I get there. So, if i can manage to brave the cold I’ll try to keep my DL day on schedule.

You look like you could lift heavier than you currently are.
Believe me I wish I could tell you I was sandbagging my lifts to look like I’m making great progress… but well…I cant I have lifted more at some point in my life… squatted like 365 or 385, dead 305, bench was always lousy. Of late tho, it is what it is.
I do take it as a compliment that I look stronger than I am tho (even though looking stronger than you are kinda sucks :|)
Exhausted, gotta get packed and stuff for my trip. I figure I will bag out some protein and carry that and some meto bars with me. Hopefully they dont think the protein is some kinda of weapon or something.
Ha. I’ve done that before man. I always feel kind of weird when people ask me what it is and why I need it, but screw it. You gotta do what you gotta do.
Well, I made it though the airport unscathed They did xray my bag twice and had a second person come over to look at the screen tho
MN isn’t actually as bad (cold wise) as I thought it would be, its around 35 deg F (1.5C or so) but its gloomy and rainy :S
I didn’t log my food intake yesterday, was kind of a crazy day trying to get everything together for this trip at the last min. I will probably not log my intake for the next couple of days either. I will do my best not to do too much damage tho.

It probably just means you have the potential to get stronger in a short amount of time. Kinda reawaken your muscles. I’m sure it’ll happen soon.
I am quite pleased with my progress so far, looking forward to more in the next 2 weeks.

good job, keep up the good work. i look forward to seeing your results. ive always wanted to try the one lift a day
Thanks! If you are interested, you should do some prep and try it!
Just learn from some of my Rookie mistakes, plan it out, make sure you understand what to do, know how much you can lift for those reps. If you decide to do it, best of luck to ya! although, from what i have seen so far, it really doesnt take much luck, just gotta do it!

What instrument(s) are you using to get such precise measurements?
I am using my SUPER PRECISE $18 bio-imp scale.
ok, so the accuracy of these things is crap. but its give me those numbers so i put them up here, as far as I’m concerned so long as its consistently inaccurate i don’t care too much.
*My grip starting going on the 285 set so I used my straps for 295, for some reason the damn things STILL slipped on my 2nd rep, wasn’t confident enough i could still hold it for a touch and go so i put the bar down to reset my grip and that pretty much ended the set :S Was pretty pissed about that cuz i KNOW i had that last rep!!!
Oh well, still pretty happy with the lift considering the change in environment, the long ass day at work and not being able to eat on point. It was COLD AS HELL!!! put in extra effort warming up. My hat goes off to all you who live in freezing cold climates, I dont know how you do it!
I defiantly have to say tho, I was pretty happy with Crossroad Fitness in St Anthony MN, facility is pretty nice, and the staff is very friendly. It after 9pm on a Monday night so it was reasonably empty.
Im very glad I decided to brave the cold and get my lift in!
