I’ve used AS on/off for about 10 years (last year started TRT in Sept.) and have never experienced anything like this and I have not been able to find any helpful information anywhere online.
In short: One week ago today I injected 1.5 ml (test enth 250mg) into my left upper quad. I experienced no pain or symptoms for the first three or four days, but then started to experience some stiffness in the area which has progressively gotten worse. Now on day seven, I am walking with sort of a limp as it hurts to put pressure on that leg and I cannot really bend my knee below parallel–not because of pain, but because of stiffness. I have no pain if just sitting or laying down. It feels like extreme muscle soreness. I have no redness or itching. There is no visible bruising or lump–even though it feels like there should be a lump. At no point have I had a fever or any illness. I have injected 3ml into the same area previously without issue. I always inject slowly. And this was not a new vial; I’m about half way through this one.
I called a friend who had a similar problem with this lab’s test about a year or two ago and he had to go to the doctor who ended up putting him on some type of pill- I don’t know if it was anti-bacterial/viral. His symptoms started around the day after the injection and he developed a horrible fever by the second day of pain. I’ve been skeptical of this lab ever since and have heard of others having problems as well.
I do not know if I should go to see a doctor or not. Aside from the soreness I feel fine, so I really do not want to go on the chance that it’s just some kind of really delayed injection soreness. But if it’s serious, then yes I would absolutely go. I just cannot find any information on what this could be or how to approach it and whether or not there are any home remedies—like along the lines of using a heating pad or something to that effect. I appeal to you all for advice.
Thanks
If it’s from a UGL, then you have no idea what you’re injecting. It’s test +++. 1.5mL of 250mg/mL is a decently high dose and maybe your leg just doesn’t like it anymore. IDK
About 3-4 weeks ago, i did a delt injection ( i alternate between delts/quads) using a insulin 28guage 5/8ths needle. These are almost always painless, however, every now and then i will hit a nerve which causes some pain, and twitching… Well this time was different, i hit the nerve while injecting and i had a prolonged spasm, (only a few seconds). But i felt fine afterwards, no pain no soreness or swelling.
A day or two later the arm was in a lot of pain. Sometimes i will get some minor soreness, other times absolutely no pain. But this was different, my shoulder/delt hurt, hurt to move it, hurt to workout. Anyway, it took about a week for it to subside, but it did eventually. All i can chalk it up to is hitting that nerve. This is probably what you are experiencing. I would monitor it, use heat, and if it doesn’t start to resolve progressively, then maybe seek help.
Apply hot compress and work the juice out of that muscle. Start injecting in the VG. No nerves to cause you any issues. Ive had a few instances in which I had small lump for about a week, and it goes away. Stop injecting into the quad, its only safe until its not.
I used to inject into the VG when I first started years ago and never had any issues. I stopped probably after the third or fourth cycle because sometimes I would cramp up due to how I had to contort my body when injecting. I had recently been thinking about doing it again because of what just happened so I will take that under advisement.
My leg is still sore as of today. I am able to put pressure/stand on it without nearly as much pain, yet I seem to have less mobility/the muscle is stiffer.
I’ve hit nerves before and I know what it feels like and what to expect. I’ve injected into veins before (apparently) and dealt with the subsequent HORRIBLE coughing fits that make it feel as if you’re dying. In fact, that actually happened again only a few weeks ago. (I don’t aspirate).
I’m using a heating pad currently. I’ll update as updates become available. Just hoping it’s not the beginning stage of Necrotizing Fasciitis or something similar.
