So the guy at GNC sold me the Mega Men’s Sport multivitamin along with some L-glutamine. \
I was looking for a decent multivitamin as well as something that would help with workout recovery. I’m curious of opinions from anyone that may have had experience with either of these products. Flames are welcome as well.

People will go off about glutamine being shite. I disagree.
Best used 10g (2 teaspoons) preworkout with some protein and carbs. And 10g (2 more teaspoons) postworkout with some protein and carbs (Eg. Surge) and then 5g before bed.
Does wonders for recovery IMO.
Multi’s are multi’s. Universal’s Animal Paks and AST’s MultiPro-32X are the best, again IMO.
But this line bothers me “the GNC guy sold me…”
Sell yourself on what you need by doing the research. Start with this site.
Most of the stuff sold at GNC’s are crap.
Maybe next time he’ll try to sell you $120 creatine.
Yeah, I did some web research on multivitamins and it was all mostly inconclusive. The only thing useful I found was avoid vitamins with high iron content. So I just grabbed the GNC one.
Thanks for the glutamine dosage advice. 10g sounds like a lot. I got capsules and they are 1g of glutamine each. Are you sure 10g is accurate? Thanks.

Forget capsules. Get the powder. Yes, 10g (2 teaspoons is correct). I may seem high but it’s the effective pre and post workout dosages for recovery and lessening of DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) caused by training.
At 25g on training days 4 times and 5g on non-training days that’s 1b (454g) you’ll go through in a month. That’s about $20 for a good micronized glutamine (like Prolab or AST). Well worth it!!
Mega Men isn’t too bad, and actually before you swallow the pills they kinda taste like chocolate protein mix!!
I take NOW Food’s ADAM, since it contains alot of the same stuff but it’s higher in iodine, which is good for my thyroid.
I agree that Glutamine in powder form is the way to go, it doesn’t taste like anything really so mixing it in with Gatorade or something with some taste is good if you don’t mix it with a protein shake which is just as easy. Otherwise you are downing pills like mad.
Next time avoid the Mega Men Sport variety; they simply add a miniscule amount of amino acids to the mix and charge more for it.
Stick to the regular ol’ Mega Men which doesn’t have the amino acids but instead has a miniscule amount of plant and herbal extracts, which may offer benefits over the course of a year or so. Plus it’s cheaper!

Your [sic] wrong.
The sport has a kidney-bursting 250mg of BCAA’s, while the regular has less than half of this.
You’re not going to get swole and shredded on less than 250mgs of BCAA’s a day.

OK, I concede. But, what we all really want to know is; when are they making a Pop-Tart “Sport”?
