MSM Journalism, Now We Have Proof They Lie All the Time!

Monopolies:

Then posts something from the media.

He doesn’t read so it’s a moot point.

We will see where this goes. It seems that they are going after them for anticompetitive conduct. Paying Apple to make them the default search as an example of anticompetitive conduct. It seems companies do this stuff all the time. I think to say Google is over the line the court will need to engage in special pleading saying Google can’t do this because they are big, but if you are smaller this type of thing is okay. I don’t think they can get Google on these practices and remain consistent logically.

I am not saying that I think Google should or should not be regulated. Just that I think the DOJ’s line of attack isn’t logically consistent (it seems to be special pleading based on the size of the company).

It’s about time. This should have been done in 2017. To be specific, this really means they are going after Alphabet, of which Google is the main, but not only piece. They need to file against Facebook, Amazon and twitter. twitter is a little less certain, but Facebook and Amazon are slam dunks for anti-trust litigation.
It certainly going to be much better for the country if these companies get broken up.
It’s interesting to note that only republican AG’s have co-filed.

I am glad it’s finally happening, but since it’s going to take years, they really should have started at least in 2017.

Starting to feel like the “peaceful protest” reports while the reporter is standing in front of a building fully engulfed in flames.

I think the writer needs to learn that a real story isn’t necessarily a true story.

I wonder how else a newspaper, with a website, can reach people. It beggars belief.

I think a well earned lawsuit is in order. As well as anti-trust litigation and section 230 reform.

Twitter has a social media monopoly we can’t talk about anything anywhere else.

It’s impossible to see news anywhere else or have discussions elsewhere.

I don’t know about that. I just point it out so conservatives will stop championing big business.

I would love to see them go after big banks as much as Twitter.

This may be a potential anti-trust case which I have minimal knowledge about so I won’t comment.

However, if it weren’t, the fear is that any new legislation imposed on them will also apply to small incorporated businesses. It’s not about championing big business. I think it’s reasonable for people to be careful when looking at what the government is actually trying to do.

Also, I don’t buy the idea that monopolies can easily happen in a real free market. Microsoft was some kind of outlier but it’s still arguable. They are normally facilitated by and/or enabled through government policies, whether intentionally or not.

The current banks are a good example(not saying they’re monopolies. Just saying they’re bigger than before).

twitter is more boarder line. Alphabet (Google) and Amazon are crystal clear monopolies. There is nobody who can reasonably compete with those guys. twitter actually has some competition, but nothing worth of note. But if we are in full trust-busting mode they should be included, because they are to large and dominant and they control the public space and hence the public conversation. And they manipulate that discourse to favor their own intent.

More communist musings.

How can it be a “clear monopoly” when it’s market share isn’t even at 50%? And that’s just ONE factor that needs to be satisfied for it to be labelled a monopoly. Otherwise FOX news would be a monopoly.

Now, this is much simpler to determine than those social media giants, which is why I’m not even going to comment about them until I know more(if I can be bothered to). Do you have any idea how complex an anti-trust case is lol?

EDIT:

Even though I don’t agree with you on these points, I’m equally disgusted at the censorship so it’s not like I’m taking their side on a matter of principles when it comes to this.

Lol what? Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, Tik Tok, Pinterest and probably a bunch of other things that I don’t even know about aren’t worth note? I don’t use any of them but I know the idea that Twitter rules the world is absurd.

No idea how accurate this would be but it has them as 15. Biggest social media platforms 2023 | Statista

BS. You’re pissed off because the President spends all his time tweeting and you think it’s unfair if they fact check something. The right has had a “monopoly” on politics on the radio for years with by far the most successful programs being right leaning. Same thing with the biggest cable news programs.

The President could decide to use many other websites at any time the options are out there. The idea that people are forced to use Twitter to communicate is absurd.

I’ll let the legal eagles figure it out. I just think it’s time for the right to look for alternative platforms. Then start favoring tax and regulation the favors a more distributed economy.

Same for me. I don’t have a twitter account anyway and my facebook account has been dormant for years with only 1 friend lol. I use linkedin and a couple of similar ones. That’s about it.
