Mr Olympia 2016

Phil brought it.
Levrone…legs not there. Waist actually looks thick. Amazing transformation though.
Bonac though…whoa…

Cedric looks fantastic (to me).
Roelly is just…massive.
But Bonac…whoa…(I know I said that already)

Agreed. Levrones return to the grand stage was quite amazing, but as others have noted not quite top material.

As far as him only doing “6 months training” … It seems like he started training again back in like 2009 when he originally did his steroid-free 8-week transformationcome back, no?? I only very casually followed him along from there (On the Levrone Report) but it doesnt ever seem like he stopped after that, did he? I can’t find any photos of him at the start of this year or the start of his “Olympia transformation” in a completely untrained state, seems likes he kept going since 2009 (Obviously not on the supplements, but still training)

It’s always interesting to see people say Phil “needs to bring it” … As if he is ever off or never looks amazing. He doesn’t have 5 Sandows because he comes in off. He will snag his 6th this year in my opinion, everything was huge and separated.

Levrone - Ok not gonna happen. Legs lacking in particular. Spectacular condition though, probably a little flat.

For me it’s going to be Phil and it’s not even close. Just thick and round and shredded all over. Dominant. Better luck next year for Dexter and Rhoden. Top three will be same as last year - poss Dexter swapping with Rhoden.

Ramy brought good condition but lost too much size, especially in the arms. He needs to be big enough to dominate and he isn’t. Maybe top 5, maybe not.

Bonac brought it but I kinda think he’s getting more love than he deserves… there’s others I think are better…

Roelly is the mass monster on stage. Unbelievabley huuuuge and thick and round… Just not quite as conditioned as the other guys but absolutely awesome to behold.

Most under-rated for me was Nathan De Asha. Just amazing size, width, shape… legs maybe not quite as wide as others but still a great physique.

All round though a super-deep field…a lot of people brought the goods… everyone from 4th down is going to be super-difficult to place…

and now, unfortunately, reality sets in.

Still, it was fun to dream…

Big Ramy the most conditioned we’ve seen him but too light - he was monstered by Roelly. I feel sorry for him as his coaches don’t know what to do with him.

Phil will take his 6th O with his best package which should get lots of credit as there have been champions who started bringing very suspect physiques to the show as time went on.

I’d have Levrone dead last. So disappointing.

You can’t place him anywhere else, no matter how impressive his transformation was for a 52 year old, away from the stage for 13 years, former pro.

I’m old and went to bed, anyone know where I can watch video or look at pics?

Well, for people who don’t follow the IFBB league, that is true. Social media has made it possible to be a famous “fitness celebrity” without any contest or competition related accomplishments. You only need to look good. Not that this is bad, as that’s certainly why most people train, but it’s definitely different than pre-social media days.

I agree, social media has changed everything. The truth is that there aren’t that many people that are 200+ lbs, yet alone Pro BB size. Most people work out to look in good shape. It doesn’t make sense for the average fit lifter to try to emulate even the Jeremy Buendias or Jeff Seids. A body like Kinobody is more attainable, who is roughly 170 lbs.

Yeah dissapointing from Levrone looked stringy -needs at least another 15lbs, 10 of those just for the legs

yup, dead last by any measure, but fuck it! Dude looks fantastic for his age and it’s an impressive effort regardless of his placing, so I’m still a fan.

Ramy a lot better the second day. Still not as enormous as people were expecting, but I think if he had come in like that on the Friday he could have been vying seriously for second. Now it looks like a solid fourth.

Roelly again just awesome. Not much there for those looking for aesthetics, but incredible thickness and density.

Final Placings: 1. Phil Heath 2. Shawn Rhoden 3. Dexter Jackson 4. Big Ramy 5. William Bonac

No Levrone upset and Phil wins another… no signa of slowing down, he may go for 10

Sir, you can’t say that enough. Bonac was my favorite the entire night. I know he’s smaller and more narrow upstairs, but his condition and 3-d effect were amazing. Maybe his low lats counted against him (being short, it might have made his waist look bigger than it is), but I thought his back looked amazing. I really hope he moves up in the rankings next year.

We were all secretly hoping to be wrong, but I think we knew it was gonna play out like this.

Unfortunately, Kevin doesn’t know how modern bodybuilders pose. Even if he did have size, he’s not leaning back, he doesn’t have a wide stance and he’s not contracting everything. He would need 30lbs on Phil just to overcome the illusion of size Phil creates.

It’s also always interesting seeing how certain people look next to others

Often people post photos of themselves alone and your brain can’t imagine anyone being more impressive… then they get killed on the actual stage.

Kev looked amazingly impressive, and honestly is by any standard other than comparison to the best in the world, but when you stand him next to Phil (or anyone really in that lineup) the differences become apparent quite readily.

Well, i at least got Phil in the right place hahah
