oh yay, another over achiever for my state

doesn’t matter if you move here, you still have to grow up, even if you do live with your parents

Did you read my post?

I suppose I am quite the over achiever b/c the acturial exams and the CFA exams are really tough. Heard of them, OG?

Thanks. I hope to be a great addition to your state!!!

California is great as long as you aviod the Sacramento area… it’s fucking horrible up there

I’ve decided to drop out of law school and move to California. I’ll be pursuing a career in finance or something actuarial. I will be taking Actuarial exams 1 & 2 this fall and the Chartered Financial Analyst Exam in December. Time to start doing what I’m good at…anything you think I should know about CA?
Don’t move here. There’s way too many people here now and they’re all creating way too much traffic and gas is a smooth $4/gallon now and it’s only getting hotter and hotter every year…

I’ve changed my mind.

The OP is quitting law school and running home to mommy and daddy, probably to be unemployed and smoke dope in his parents’ basement.

“Oh, did the big bad professors give him too much homework? Did it interfere with the pot parties and running a train on some airhead 19 year old girl? Wow, those profs were just mean, huh?”

He belongs in California.

I’d rather live in Cali than that shit-hole OHIO any day. California leads the nation in so many areas. What’s wrong with expecting clean air and water for your state? Not everything that falls a bit “left” is all bad. I’d rather my neighbor be a mellow pot smoker than an asshole drunk. Nothing in Ohio comes close to San Diego or Huntington Beach. Arnold is doing a great job as well, so all your hippie paranoia is a bit… PARANOID.

Actually, I am not leaving law school b/c of performance issues. Ranking in the top third of the class at a tier 1 law school is quite an honor. Also, the top professor at my law school is writing me a letter of recommendation in case I decide to come back or I would like to transfer to another school. You can read his articles in USA Today, the Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal.

The decision has resulted from various personal circumstances and I am very happy with my decision. A career involving quantitative analysis is a much better fit for me. Did I forgot to mention that I graduated Magna Cum Laude from a top national university? Whooops!!! You probably don’t know what either of those are being from OHIO.

Your post only indicates that you can’t read and are incredibly ignorant as to what career opportunities are available to someone that becomes a CFA and fellow of the Society of Actuaries.

I feel sorry for the people in Ohio that have to put up with your DUMBASS!!!

Yup…graduated from a big-time university…went to law school…decided it was too tough…

Now wants to move back home and become an actuary.

You remind me of the scene in ‘The Grapes of Wrath’ where the hillbilly wants to send in 25 cents and automatically becomes a ‘radio expert’. Yeah.

Sounds to me like hard work and you don’t get along.

Don’t try to explain yourself to someone as ignorant as him. He’s just jealous he’s stuck in shitty Ohio with no opportunity, while you have everything in front of you. I just moved to California from the midwest (Chicago) and I LOVE it here. Good luck with everything!

OG’s got it down pat about the SD area though.

Hey Eric, I’d say don’t move to Oakland with all my might. Would you recommend Oakland? ha ha.
There are actually some BEAUTIFUL and very expensive areas in Oakland, but since you’ve probably never been there you picture it as one big-ass ghetto. It’s got plenty of ghetto, but much of it is far from what you’d expect.

I’d actually divide CAli up even further: There’s SoCal, Central Valley, NorCal (i.e. North of Sac), and the Bay Area. All are different and have their unique charms. I prefer NorCal and the Bay Area for sure, although I live in SF and get pretty annoyed at all the far-Left nutjobs. Other than that, it’s a great area.

Man. I lived in and around Anaheim with all the dirty beaners until about 4 years ago. Now I live in Mishitgan with all the toothless hicks. It has an incredible, dramatic, and totally painful experience trying to adjust to this shit-hole of a state.

Anyways. You will love California, if you can afford it. My brother and his wife live in Mission Viejo, and they are dealing with incredibly high prices for everything. They are considering moving to Colorado.

GOD I miss Anaheim. I really do. Even the hoods that I lived in. I can’t believe how much I miss it. And to make matters worse, there is NO FUCKING EL POLLO LOCO HERE! Ugh. Now I’m mad… This place is just so empty…

good call…i live 20 minutes from oakland, that’s plenty close enough for me.

sure, but all the athletes who live here move to pleasanton, dublin, alameda or the hayward hills. granted some is beautiful, but the bad of living there to me outweighs the good. i’m fine with living in pleasanton and taking bart in there for a’s and warriors games.

absolutely. i live in the bay as well, you can’t beat it. every place has its own charms, as i wouldn’t mind living down by OG and hanging on mission beach or PB every day. that’s why so many people from up here go to college at SDSU, or just move down to the junior college…best of both worlds, when you’re at school, you’re in san diego, when you’re at home, you’re in the bay…two best places in california IMO.

Right on man, I live in Rocklin and it’s bad ass. Lots of hotties lots. I live right next to Sierra College; I think Playboy rated it #1 in the country for hotties at a JC.

Where in Roseville you moving to?
Interesting, my girlfriend went to Sierra JC before transferring to Chico State. I had no idea they put out that kind of talent – I mean, I think my GF is hot and all, but I’m not from the area so I haven’t seen the rest of 'em. Good for NorCal!

I’ll second SinisterMinister. I live in one of the nicer parts of Oakland and its awesome. Cheap rent, nice weather, close to SF when I want to go there…

No opportunity? If only you knew…

Why’d you leave America and go to a place run by and for libs? Aren’t people fleeing the nanny-state and moving to surrounding American states? You DO know, I hope, that when all the productive people flee from somewhere, there’ll be no one around to fund your welfare check.

Move to:
Berkeley - if you like granola, drive a Prius, or love streaking through the quad naked on your way to a protest.

San Francisco - if you’re gay or seek work as a kick ass bicycle messenger.

Sacramento - if you love the heat and politics.

Central Valley - if you love to pick strawberries.

Santa Barbara - if you’re rich and don’t know what else to do with your life.

L.A. - if you are incredibly low on self-esteem but look great, drive a car you cannot afford, and go tanning 5-6 times a week.

San Diego - if you like sunshine and lots of Mexicans bolting through your backyard yelling “LA MIGRA!!!”

 1. Yup, I love my home state of CA. We got it all!

You come off as such a douche, HH. I hope for your sake you’re under 20 years old. That way, you’ll someday realize you’re a societal detriment for the same reasons the nutty Far-Lefters in SF are annoying: You think you’ve got it all figured out, and that anyone who isn’t on board with your view of how things should be is either too dumb to grasp what you grasp or is flat-out evil.

I’m a conservative living in the belly of the beast: San Francisco. And instead of moving out because I’m outnumbered (like a pussy like you would recommend), I end up IGNORING the Code Pink, Critical Mass, etc. jackasses who (like you) perefer fingerpointing and vague generalizations to civilized discussion and debate. Further, I actually ENJOY and INDULGE in civilized debate with other people – all hard-working PROFESSIONALS – who I occasionally (GOD FORBID!) don’t agree with on certain issues.

You’re making America a shittier place to be – just like the extremists on the Left. It’s not about politics, or viewpoints, or opinion. It’s about common courtesy and respect.
