the old school 1974 gone in 60 seconds will be watched tonight also

yes I have alot of time on my hands

The Sea Inside.

Winner of the 2004 Best Foreign Film award, this movie was incredible. It stars Javier Bardem (Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men).

Another bad weekend for movies.

The Eye - It was like they took parts from lesser, bad horror films and tried to combine them all into one uber-terrible horror film. Truly awful.

Boarding Gate - I’m not sure what this movie was trying to be. I thought the first half was interesting and then it kind of switched gears and totally lost me. If you like Asia Argento though, you’ll really enjoy a few scenes of this movie.

The Onion Movie - I like The Onion, but this movie just wasn’t that sharp. There were a few parts that made me laugh though. It reminded me of a less funny Kentucky Fried Movie.

Semi-Pro - I don’t think it will surprise anyone when I say this movie was stupid and unfunny. Will Ferrell needs to take a break from comedy for a bit.

Meet The Spartans - Was this movie written by an eight-year-old? Because I have a hard time believing that an adult write this movie and thought it was funny. One of the worst films I’ve ever seen.

Vexille: The Movie - This one I actually thought was pretty cool. I’m not huge into Anime, but I was able to get into this one pretty quickly and not feel confused by the story at all.

Watched a documentary called Jesus Camp.

GREAT movie and really very frightening for me anyway since I am not part of the chosen flock.

I finally got around to watching There Will Be Blood this past weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed Daniel Day Lewis’ performance and can see why he won an oscar for it. I doubt I’ll be buying the DVD, but I can appreciate the skill that went into making the movie. The ending was of course awesome.

In other movie news:

Sweeney Todd: Finally saw this too and it’s pretty much what I expected. Decent flick with some funny parts. One thing that annoyed the shit out of me was the sound being out of whack on the DVD. The musical numbers were ridiculously loud, but the regular dialogue was barely audible. Another case of a ticky-tack glitch screwing up my movie-watching experience.

The Machine Girl: Brand new movie a coworker downloaded. It’s basically a Japanese anime-type movie, but done in live action. In short, it’s about a little schoolgirl seeking revenge on a Yakuza family that killed her brother and chopped off her arm. Unfortunately for them she winds up with a gatling gun (that doesn’t spin, lol) augmentation. Basically it’s a gore fest, but a lot of fun to laugh at.

Captain Ron. Just about all the jokes missed the mark but Kurt Russell’s performance was fun to watch.

MST3K: The Teenage Strangler - FUCKING HILARIOUS! Easily one of the best episodes. Also included on this disc are outtakes which are great. 10/10

The Illustrated Man - Based off Ray Bradbury’s novel. Not bad, kinda slow but worth watching. Hard to believe this thing is rated PG with the numerous references to sex and the amount nudity. I guess things were different in the 60s.

Disturbia - For being a teenage thriller, I actually really liked this flick. I had no expectations going in and was very entertained. I was kind of bummed by Carrie Ann Moss though, she seemed to get about 20 years older and put on a few pounds since the last Matrix movie. But I’d still hit it.

Rambo - Finally saw the fucking thing! Awesome action shots, but I thought the story was a little lacking. Like hell Rambo would run into the jungle just to save a bunch of bleeding-heart liberals. I also thought the closing seen with him going home could have been a little more spectacular. All in all it was good, but I was expecting a little more.

I only really get to watch movies when my wife is gone on Thursdays. So here’s what I watched.

King of Kong. I enjoyed this movie. It made me want to play donkey kong or kick Billy Mitchells ass while he was playing donkey kong, I’m not sure which, probably both.

Art of the Devil II. Don’t really know what to say about this movie. It’s about some kids that put a curse on a couple teachers and how one teacher gets them back. Wasn’t all that good. I think I was distracted by the terrible voice dubbing.

Hellraiser. I hadn’t seen this movie in a long time, 15 years, so I thought I’d watch it again.

Fuck yeah! It’s one of those cheesy bad movies that is fun to watch. If I was Kurt Russell, I would legally change my name to Capitan Ron and just be that guy all the time.

Kentucky Fried Movie also had tits. Lots and lots of tits.

…and The Onion Movie does not. :frowning:

I rented 2 flicks this weekend,Rambo and Semi-Pro.

Rambo was actually very good, with much more graphic violence than it’s predecessors. Great rental.

Semi-Pro was pretty stupid. I agree with the previous poster that says Will Ferrell needs to take a break from the same old schtick.

How he gets paid top-dollar for shit like this is beyond comprehension.

Yeah I was searching through free OnDemand movies and saw it there and I remembered you saying that was him in your avatar - that’s why I watched. His qoutes are great:

“Yeah incentives are important…I learned that in rehab.”

Captain Ron suddenly wakes up
“I didn’t do it! I didn’t do it I swear!”

Now I’m definitely not going to watch it.

Don’t Mess With Zohan - Better than I expected. Still pretty much sucked.

Dogma - Felt like watching it again. It’s really not that funny, but I always find it amusing.

Film Noir - An animated film noir movie. Story kind of sucked, but there was lots of naked animated chicks haha.

Damn you guys watch a lot of movies. I can’t keep up. I finally watched the last Bourne. It was entertaining, but far from great. But I did enjoy it.

Also watched King of Kong and loved it.

And I watched the original Ocean’s 11.

Sorry to disappoint…

Tits aside though, the movie just isn’t that funny. It’s probably a movie that would be funnier if you watched it with a group of friends and were having a few drinks.

I’ve always enjoyed Kevin Smith films for the dialog even when the movie isn’t that great. Most of the scenes in Dogma with Damon and Affleck are actually interesting to listen to.

If you’re a Kevin Smith fan, check out An Evening With Kevin Smith. He tells a lot of amusing stories about the movies, how he met his wife, working with the actors, etc.

You probably just have a much more exciting life than the rest of us.

I watched The Kingdom. I thought it was pretty good.
