Doubt is the cinematic equivalent of blueballs. Where is the moneyshot?

I thought that was kind of the point.

I thought it built and built upon the performances but did not deliver a plot worthy of them. Meryl Streep’s confession at the end was something of a wrap, but I didn’t feel the film left things open the way the director intended.

I see what you’re saying. I just thought the end kind of fit with the title of the movie.

Zak and Miri make a Porno.

I’ve only watched 20 mins of it and the black guy in it is great lol

The race and gay jokes are funny. Very sophomoric humor. Fits who I am.

I just finished watching Mongol. I’m happy to say that it was fantastic. I knew when buying the movie that it wasn’t a blood fest action historical epic, but I was interested anyways. I was pleasantly surprised by the good acting and the Mongolian language added another aura too it. While it wasn’t 100% historically accurate, it doesn’t bother me at all. A movie is a movie, and this is a great one without the added Hollywood crap all over it.[/quote]

This is a GREAT film.

I was also impressed that they kept the gore-fest out of it. It’s too easy to slip into that pattern with such “historical” films.

They did this one right and the costume work was incredible.

I figured you would like it simply because I did.

Craig Robinson is awesome and his dancing steals the show.

In keeping with the recent Philip Seymour Hoffman theme, I just finished Capote. Where the fuck was Hoffman? Or are you telling me they didn’t resurrect Capote?

Hoffman just disappeared into the role. His vocal inflections, mannerisms (the way he held his head)… all of it was transformed.

Now I have to see if Infamous has a better performance, as I have heard differing views on this one.

Twilight- Yay, a 2 hour emo music video. The only thing that was pleasing was the fact I didn’t pay to watch it.

haha…I know! I’ve been getting into lots of arguments lately with friends when I keep saying that Twilight was a glorified episode of something I’d expect to see on The CW.

Rewatched “No Country for Old Men” recently. Movie still gives me chills. The part in the beginning where Tommy Lee Jones is narrating and he winds up with-

“…a man’d have to put his soul at hazard. He’d have to say: Okay. I’ll be part of this world.”

-is one of the most poignant and true things ever said about the War on Drugs specifically and getting involved with illegal shit in general.

“Forgetting Sarah Marshall” was hilarious.

“Let the Right One In” was very, very slow paced but my God is that movie beautiful.

“Punisher Warzone” was entertaining and better than I thought it would be but still a little too slapstick for my taste. I want a dark, gritty REALISTIC Frank Castle, not this bullshit chop-socky hangs upside down and fires a million bullets nonsense.

Casablanca - Um… what

Memento - Really well done. I didn’t know Nolan had it in him to fuck with narrative so well. Very captivating and I like Carrie-Anne Moss…

Snatch - Vinnie Jones is awesome. I prefer Lock Stock still.

Mar Adentro (The Sea Inside), a beautiful and moving spanish film about the struggle of a quadraplegic man in his quest for death

Punisher-War Zone: Does Julie Benz purposely only go for roles over-the-top gorey action movies when not filming Dexter? After this one and Rambo I’m beginning to think so. This one was better than the last Punisher, but that isn’t saying much.

Knowing: While this won’t be added to my favorites list, I was pleasantly surprised by it. The special effects were decent, the suspense was off the charts IMO, and Nick Cage toned down his Nick Cage-ness to where I could take him seriously. It’s worth a rental, mostly so you can control the volume while the score is playing. I thought my ears were bleeding for a minute.

Twilight sucked. I had several of my teenage patients recommend that bullshit to me and now I know to never take the opinion of a 15 year old seriously again. This was nowhere near even the cult classic of the Lost Boys. Vampires that only go to high school when it is cloudy outside? (CLOUDY!!?..not dark but CLOUDfuckY)…because the sun makes their skin shine like diamonds? Really? That’s why vampires hate sunlight? Because they look like millionaires?

This was like Dawson’s Creek meets that puppet vampire on Sesame Street.

First, if you have been alive for centuries…why the FUCK would you continue going to high school? Are these retarded vampires? It takes THAT long to learn high school biology?

Fucking “vegetarian” vampires who only eat “cattle”?

Does anyone want my copy?

how did you think the first punisher wasnt great? haha

“Cloudfucky”…I like that.

I saw “I Love You, Man” the other day. Hysterical, very original and the first movie appearance of the best band of all time. Horrible trailer though. I don’t know how a movie studio could let such a lame trailer slide, as it impacts the box office take enormously. The original trailer for “Office Space” was the same deal…lame as hell and doing no justice to the incredible movie.

“Layer Cake”, starring Daniel Craig, was pretty good. Its about the life of a drug middleman in England, a guy who buys from the distributors and sells to the dealers. Craig is very inconspicuous and you’d never guess that he was involved in any illicit activity.

“A Haunting in Connecticut”, simply AWFUL. Its honestly not worth spending even the 0.15% of a calorie that it takes to type “A Haunting in Connecticut” into a torrent site and to double click on DIVX player, that’s how bad it was.
