King of Kong is a fantastic film ! Everyone I know who’s seen it enjoyed it.
Last night I watched the Face of Fu Manchu (1965) with Christopher Lee. Very enjoyable film. Simple idea but well executed, I think ill watch the next one (The Brides of Fu Manchu) tonight if I get time.

After that is The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, which looks interesting and entertaining to me.
I really liked it. I don’t want to spoil anything for you, but some of the people involved…oh boy. Just in another world, ya know?
Let me know what you think of it.
I’m sure I will enjoy it. It looks like the kind of movie I would love, but I’m a nerd like that. I also liked Wordplay a lot – the crossword puzzle documentary.[/quote]
I was thinking about renting Wordplay, so I’ll have to check it out now. Have you seen Spellbound? It’s the one about the kids in the National Spelling Bee.
Also worth a watch are My Kid Could Paint That and Who in the F*@k is Jackson Pollack.

Spellbound is in the queue. I’ll check out the others.

I have it in my Netflix as well. I heard Trent Reznor from NIN talking about it and I figured it was some crazy disturbing documentary on eating babies or something, only to find out it’s about videogames. “Huh?” I said.

It was definitely fun to watch. Really made me nostalgic for the old school arcade games. Remember back when people actually went to arcades to play games?
Rambo - I really liked this. It’s bloody and violent as hell, but what were you expecting? It’s a Rambo film. I liked it because it didn’t waste much time and just got to the point, which is Rambo kicking ass!
The Cleaner - I’m not going to go into this much because it sounds like a lot of people here haven’t seen it, but I really enjoyed this film too. I knew nothing about it going in and rented it mainly on the strength of the cast. I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a good rental.

I’m talking about the one with Sam Jackson. The one with Ced is technically called Code Name: The Cleaner.

I work in the retail and I can say from both ends, mine and theirs 500yrs is too long in 50 we’ll be like that
I watched “The Faculty” on Tuesday and I have to say it’s aged well. Decent story, good action, and lots of well known actors in it, including Jon Stewart, Femke Janssen (drool), Frodo Baggins, and even Usher.

Classic movie. I don’t know why it doesn’t get more credit than it did. I think if it came out now (now that all of those characters have been successful in other movies) it would have been accepted better.

Last night I watched Cassandra’s Dream. Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell were both good in it, but something about the story I just didn’t like. I really hated the ending too.
Damn Ewan McGregor though. We had a fight in another movie that I’m still a little burned over. It’s complicated…

Yeah, I remember it not being reviewed well and when I got around to seeing it, I didn’t understand why people seemed to dislike it so much. I thought it was refreshing that I didn’t hate the teens in the movie.

I don’t trust reviews anymore. I would rather be the first in the theater than base my viewing of a movie on the words of a critic. Any movie you can pull back out ten years later and still like it is good regardless of what anyone else says.
It is one of the better “teen movies” produced in my opinion short of regular classics with Ringwald in them.

It’s funny you mention Ringwald, because I read that the group of teens in The Faculty were meant to be an homage to The Breakfast Club.
The only critic who’s reviews I enjoy is Dave White from movies.com, but even he completely misses the boat from time to time. I agree that it’s best to be your own movie critic.
