I also watched Hitman and 28 Weeks Later over the long weekend.
Hitman wasn’t bad. Not great, but having almost no expectations going in, I was pleasantly surprised.
28 Weeks Later didn’t do much for me. It really pisses me off that the zombies from this franchise seem to be blood thirsty olympic sprinters on crack. That really screws with my strategy of just mowing hoards of zombies down with a bulldozer should it ever happen. Now I got to be all clever and fast and shit.
I just got done watching 30 Days of Night. I thought it was a decent movie. I thought the plot a little too simple and I felt like they left out a lot of information.
Yesterday I watched The Golden Compass. Again I just thought it was ok. I didn’t feel like there was much character development and all the conflicts seemed to come out of thin air and were over within minutes. I felt like there were no transitions either, just a bunch of scenes stuck together.

I actually liked The Golden Compass, but since it tanked so bad at the box office, it’s unlikely they’ll ever make the rest of the series. I really wanted to see how it all played out. I suppose I could read the books, but I have enough recreational reading to catch up on as it is.
I watched some of Coach Carter yesterday. Always fun to watch Samuel L. Jackson get pissed and yell at those who totally deserve it. Or even if they don’t.

I’m with you on both of those. With Hitman, I thought it was kind of silly to have all bald hitmen with barcodes tattooed on their heads. Um…doesn’t that kind of make you stand out? Wouldn’t you want to blend in a little more with the crowd?
I prefer my zombies slow and dumb, but it is cool when they change things up like that from time to time. Apparently when they remade Dawn of the Dead, George Romero wasn’t wild about changing the zombies to the faster style that was in the remake.

“Would you stop yelling at me please?”
“No, I can’t stop yelling, cause that’s how I talk! You ain’t never seen my movies!”

Yeah, the barcode head thing was pretty goofy to me too, but it was in the game so I guess they chose to go with it. I also didn’t really like the guy who played 47. He just seemed…off or something. The Russian chick was rather pleasing to my eyes though. Sequel maybe? Did you see the alternate ending where they kill her?
Cool, that was the other movie I picked up when I grabbed Rambo this morning. I had never heard of it, but I liked the cast so I figured I’d give it a shot.

Shit, I must have missed that. Was it in the special features?

Yep. That and a few deleted scenes, but you didn’t miss anything there. Basically, as she rounds the corner with I what I assume is the deed to the wine vineyard she always wanted, a car drives by and fills her full of holes as 47 watches from the top of a building. It was cool because as the camera pans up to 47 it’s CGI and it looks like it’s out of the videogame with his tie blowing in the wind.

After that is The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, which looks interesting and entertaining to me.
I really liked it. I don’t want to spoil anything for you, but some of the people involved…oh boy. Just in another world, ya know?
Let me know what you think of it.[/quote]
I’m sure I will enjoy it. It looks like the kind of movie I would love, but I’m a nerd like that. I also liked Wordplay a lot – the crossword puzzle documentary.
