Movies You've Watched This Week?

I keep hawking this same little movie that I netflixed.

When Strangers Appear

I liked it and it wasn’t one that I would have gone to see in the theatres. That is what is so great about renting. I don’t feel cheated if I didn’t like the movie.

Invincible, Alien, Gladiator, Back to the Future.

Im going to watch 2001: A Space Odyssey tonight. I watched it a while back and didn’t really like it too much, felt like I missed something. Got to give it another viewing.

I can’t imagine why you’d be interested in watching Gladiator again.

I went to visit my parents last weekend and they were watching Gladiator when I walked in.

I just watched Session 9, The Mist and Click and they all sucked something fierce. Click was funny and lighthearted for awhile, then got sad and depressing. The other two were just plain awful.

There Will Be Blood and Dan In Real Life were the last good movies I can remember renting.

Eastern Promises was great, but what the hell was up with the ending? That’s it? Kind of a let down.

I’m drawing a total blank as to how Eastern Promises ended. I hate it when that happens.

Spoiler alert:

You’re right, that was a bad ending. That’s probably why I forgot it because so lame and didn’t have much of an impact for me.

The only thing I can think of is they left it open for a sequel. Not like they don’t have any loose ends to tie up.

I just finished watching Strange Wilderness. It was another Happy Madison production. I was really hoping this one was going to surprise me like Grandma’s Boy did and be funny. I will admit there were a few parts that made me laugh, but for the most part it was just plain stupid.

I watched 3:10 to Yuma today. I enjoyed it, but I’m far from a movie critic.

I watched an 80’s classic last night, filled with memorable quotes like this one:

“My dad is a television repairman. He’s got an ultimate set of tools. I can fix it!”

“No shirt, no shoes…NO DICE!”

“Learn it. Know it. Live it.”

Cloverfield(which I got for free)
Tin Man(also free)
Sin City
Underdog(I was bored)

Believe it or not, I have a friend that has never seen that movie…and he’s 35!

You mean he has NOT seen the on screen debut of Mr. Nick Cage? Traveshamockery!

It’s unbelievable I know. The same person has never seen Animal House either.

I also have two friends (both in their 30’s) that claim to have never seen any of the original Star Wars films.

I wonder if these people were chained to their beds as kids.

I loved 3:10 to Yuma!

I liked 3:10 to Yuma up until the end. Something about the way that movie ended just bugged me.

Tombstone is awesome!

This week I’ve got season 4 of the Wire on Netflix. I also hope to see Indiana Jones 4 tomorrow. The last 2 movies I saw were The Killer Elite and Ravenous.

The Killer Elite is a Sam Peckinpah movie from the 70’s with James Caan, Robert Duval and Pauly from the Rocky franchise. It’s goofy, they’re CIA contractors who end up battling a bunch of Ninjas. Yeah, Ninjas, I shit you not. What’s awesome is James Caan and Pauly have guns, while the Ninjas have swords. The best part of the movie is when Pauley runs out of Ammo, gets a Ninja in a head lock, punches him in the stomach and throws him over the side of a ship.

Ravenous is kind of a horror movie about cannibalism in the old west but it’s more comical than anything.

That’s funny, I just finished watching season 1 of The Wire based on a friend’s recommendation. I’m waiting for season 2 now.

I also recently watched all 3 seasons of Deadwood. I really loved that!

I also plan on seeing Indy 4 tomorrow as well as Prince Caspian. I took the day off work tomorrow, so going to catch up.

I thought it was a good movie, well worth a rent, but not worth buying and watching repeatedly like Tombstone. For me, Tombstone is still the best Western so far.

If you like Westerns, check out Open Range if you haven’t seen it. Awesome movie.
