Movies You've Watched This Week?

I think Predator on Blu Ray would look outstanding (not sure if its its on Blu Ray yet.) The sharpness and clarity along with those effects, damn!

Was this movie not the official theme for future candidates for the position of governor?
I always thought this Carl Weathers clip was classic:

I saw Death Race yesterday and thought it was great for what it was- a mindless adventure filled with destruction. The acting is horrible except for Coach, but the action was decent. It’s not even in the same ballpark as Dark Knight, but it’s not intended to be.

If there’s a cheap movie theater near you that runs movies that have been out awhile, check it out there when available.

Coach is in this? I’m in for sure now.
No, it was the name of the character.

I watched Double Impact because it was on Showtime last night. It’s hard to believe everyone once thought Van damn was cool. What were we thinking?

I watched a movie called Hard Candy with Ellen Page, who is quickly becoming one of my favourite actresses. Great movie.

I agree. That was the first movie I saw with Ellen Page in it and you could see back then she was going to be someone worth watching.

Good movie though. Some of the scenes in that movie are a little ‘cringe inducing’ if you know what I mean.

haha…I wonder about that myself. Outside of Bloodsport, and maybe Kickboxer, were any of his movies really even watchable?

I don’t know if this is true, but I heard once that he insists on a clause in his movie contracts that state there have to be x amount of shots of his ass or of him doing the splits in any of his movies.

Deal - The problem with any Texas Hold em related movie is that it’s going to be compared to Rounders. This is not even in the same league as Rounders. It’s pretty boring and stars that annoying kid from Reaper.

Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day - Total chick flick and kind of has a Cinderella element to it. It’s okay.

Then I watched a bunch of bad horror flicks:

The Wizard of Gore - Weird and stupid.

Do You Want to Know a Secret? - Yeah the secret is how to make a good horror flick and after watching this, you can tell they still don’t know it. Pure shit.

Boogeyman 2 - Pointless and stupid. I don’t think it had anything to do with the first film.

Unearthed - Another horror flick where all the action seems to occur at night, so you can’t see a fucking thing. Waste of time.

Agreed on all points. Good flick.

I guess Carl forgot about Bill Duke.

Gone Baby Gone.

Cassey Afflek is a 100 times better actor than his brother. Hands down

I saw Predator again, and although I have seen it many times, it still delivers. There is a surge of T that I feel when I watch this movie. The thrill of the hunt, swole soldiers being chased by an alien, thats a recipe for pure entertainment. Arnold looks swole as ever, and to think this guy is now my governor.

And the whole arm wrestling introduction. This gives me an idea.

If a T-man ever meets a T-man in real life, they officially have to do the Predator Handshake. Official!

oh and btw, my ‘friend’ thinks hes a movie expert because he flunked out of film school, lol, i know, but him and other people keep telling me that No Country for Old Men was the greatest movie ever made, now IMO this movie sucked fat balls!

I’ve seen thousands of movies if not 10k but watched this one twice to make sure i didnt miss anything, horrible movie… anyone care to explain why everyone loves this movie so much?

Really? I actually don’t know that many people that liked it. Most of my friends thought it was boring. I didn’t think it was anything special. It was okay, but I thought there were much better movies that came out that year.
AGREED! atleast 15-20 that i saw… how often do some of u guys rent go to movies? i only go to the theatres when something really cool looking comes out, ex: IRONMAN, Dark knight, etc… but ill rent 4-6 a week usually, maybe 2 movies a day every 2-3 days… but thats cuz i dont like watching most tv shows… if i turn on the cable ill usually surf through about 10 shows in 30 minutes which is pointless cuz i never catch the point to any one show

I liked No Country For Old Men. But then again, I have an attention span.

During the Summer, I’ll go as often as once or twice a week. Usually for the big releases or something that I really want to see. Otherwise, I wait for DVD.

As we are just now starting to come out of the Summer movie season, I probably won’t go to the theater at all until some of the late-November and December releases and then I take another break until the following May.

As far as rentals go, I rent anywhere from 6 to 9 movies a week. I have Blockbuster Online with unlimited in-store exchange. I’ll watch my rentals during the week as I have time and swap them out as soon as I’m done with them.

I thought that movie (Predator) have plenty of classic lines. Lord knows the sequel was horrendous. The plot was unique and had potential for being very good. But Danny Glover doesn’t have the sack of T the way Arnold did.

Also saw Commando recently, Arnold was seriously jacked in this one too.

Is there an echo in here?

My Sassy Girl - I kind of liked this despite the stupid movie name. It’s a total chick flick, but for some reason I didn’t have any problem getting through it. Probably because I like Elisha Cuthbert.

Dexter: Season 2 - I liked it, but I think I preferred the first season. Dexter’s sister still annoyed the hell out of me the whole way through.

Postal - Sucked hard! Didn’t realize until I started watching it that it was yet another Uwe Boll video-game-based-movie-abomination. Fuck that guy.

What Happens in Vegas - Ridiculous premise for a movie, but the first half of the movie was kind of funny. The second half followed the same predictable path of most romantic ‘comedies’. Any bets on whether or not they make the marriage somehow work?

Stomp the Yard - I liked this. It’s predictable as hell, but I’ve always liked movies like this and I enjoy watching all the dance scenes.

I think I’m going to try to see Babylon A.D. this weekend. Might go see Pineapple Express too.
