Rogue - A terrible movie about a giant, killer crocodile. It’s never scary and most of the time you can’t tell what’s going on in the movie because the action shots are either all at night or underwater. Honestly, hasn’t the giant, killer croc/alligator theme been done to death by now? Is there really any new ground that can be broken at this point?

hehe…well, if they do them right, then there’s no problem. They need to either contain gore or nudity. Rogue has neither.

Really? I looked at the DVD at a Target and it said stuff about an NC-17 version, a climactic battle unmatched in film…Good thing I didn’t buy it.

Nate,
Did you see the movie “Primeval” which is based on a true story?
That was pretty good and what was interesting was just a couple weeks ago the same crocodile is back and eating more people.
insane. They just should not be able to run that fast

They should be sued for false advertising then. It’s barely worth watching as a rental, let alone buying. I honestly can’t think of a single thing about the movie that was noteworthy. It was pretty friggin boring.

Gustave is back?!
So is Chang_Lee…
A man-eating, nonsensical-talking croc?
Now that’s a movie I’d pay to see…drunk.

I seriously LOL’ed at that. How do you channel Chang_Lee so well?

It’s a secret…mwa hahaha right now I’m channeling him in German on another thread.
Capote - I thought this was a good, albeit slow, movie. Philip Seymour Hoffman was great as always.
The Asteroid Farmer - I thought this was okay. I felt this was a little slow too.
Felon - I liked this. I’m pretty sure this was straight-to-DVD, but it stars Val Kilmer and Stephen Dorff. It was pretty interesting, well acted and not your typical prison film.
Tropic Thunder - Saw it this morning. I created a separate thread for this movie, so I won’t spoil anything here. I’ll simply say that I liked it and I thought it was funny.
The Secret - No, not that The Secret. This was a movie with David Duchovny. It’s one of those movies where someone inhabits the mind of someone else and then has to live that person’s life until they come to whatever resolution that was needed. This was just okay. Kind of slow.
Day of the Dead - An example of when a remake is worse than the original. Sometimes they should just leave them alone. Also, how can this even be called a remake when it doesn’t follow the same story as the original? Anyway, this sucked.
Smart People - Had a okay cast, so I had high hopes for this one. It was kind of slow and a little creepy in places.
Coyote Ugly - Never saw this the first time around. It was more of a chick flick than I was expecting. I wasn’t impressed.
The Killing Gene - This was another one that was just kind of blah all the way through. Nothing really special about it. I think this movie was trying too hard to be a ‘smart’ version of The Saw movies.

LMFAO!
I watched Fahrenheit 451 on Saturday. I could have sworn I’d seen it before but it looked new to me. It wasn’t bad, but it sure isn’t the book.
I’ve been racking up movies on my new DVR (thanks, Direct TV) and have watched the following recently:
Surf’s Up
I really enjoyed this. I liked how they had actual surfers do voices for some of the characters. Nice touch.
Rescue Dawn
I’m a huge Bale fan, so of course I liked this. I did think it dragged a bit in the middle of the film but the acting was really good throughout and the story is pretty remarkable.
Hoosiers
Hadn’t seen this in a long time. As someone who grew up playing basketball, this movie always gets to me. Hackman and Hopper are outstanding.
I saw Step Brothers this past weekend, it was funny overall. Probably better than I thought it would be, but would make it a rental more than watching it in the theatre.
