I have a month before I go back to school and my Neflix queue just tripled.
My latest favorite movies are the Jesse Stone series. I think they were made for TV, from the Robert B. Parker novels, but they’re awesome, Tom Selleck is perfect. If you haven’t seen them, I highly recommend it. I would like to read the books, but I’m not sure if they’ll spoil the movies for me, or vice versa.
I also saw Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? about four times last week. And Blue Harvest is sitting on my DVD player, but I have to be in the right mood for that. I hated Family Guy for the first few months my husband watched it, but I’ve come around.

Saw Hancock yesterday, was pleasently suprised. I rather enjoyed it, most of the audience was laughing along quite enthusiastically. Overall a very good film.[/quote]
I saw it last night, It was hilarious. During the movie they showed a trailer for Step Brothers, can’t wait.

Seriously? I thought it looked really bad.

I’m on the fence for Step Brothers. When I first heard about it and saw the first preview, I thought it was going to suck. I’ve warmed up to it a bit since then, but I could still go either way.

I have to admit that I have watched a Lifetime movie and it was one of the Jesse Stone flicks. It was pretty good. Tom Selleck is always good.
I did have a problem with him drinking Johnnie Red though. No self-respecting alcoholic drinks Johnnie Red.

Well, yeah, see I’ve never really seen Tom Selleck in anything before, which is part of my fascination.

If your a Selleck fan and like westerns at all, I recommend Quigley Down Under.
I spent all week watching the first season of The Tudors. I thought it was just okay. The whole season just kind of seemed slow, but the last few episodes picked up the pace.
I think I’m a little burnt out on TV shows on DVD for a bit. I just completed Dexter and The Tudors back to back. Time to catch up on some movies.
I hadn’t been to a 3D movie in a while so this was fun. Yes, the script was cheesy at points, but I was entertained. I, and the rest of the audience, jumped several times as things “lunged” towards our faces. Fun times:)
District B13 - I liked it. Not much for plot, but the parkour action is brilliant.
Sexual Life - Came across this last night on TV. Basically a flick about relationships and how most people make a lot of bad decisions. The movie kind of transitions into different characters throughout, which is a cool concept but leaves a little to be desired when looking at the people and scenarios in any kind of detail.
The Warriors
I watch this movie at least once a year. Yeah it’s a bit dated, but hey, I still like it and that’s all that matters. Although I’ve always thought the Warriors should’ve spent more time fighting than running…

This morning I watched Starship Troopers. It was brought up in another thread so I got the urge to watch it again.
It’s still cool in my book.
Think about the CGI in that movie for a moment.
That movie was made in '97 making it over a decade old. THAT is pretty cool.

Totally! That’s one of the things I noticed about it when watching it. The effects still hold up well. It doesn’t look like a 10 year old movie at all.
What a great documentary! Seriously, anyone who has played or still plays video games has to check this out. The story of 1 guy chasing the Donkey Kong high score is easy to relate to, and Billy Mitchell (who holds the score, then loses it then mysteriously gets it back) plays a great antagonist.
