Movies You've Watched This Week?

Haha did you google it? If not, good memory. Honestly, I just thought the name was a good pseudonym.

No, Timothy Olyphant wasn’t that great of villain. I didn’t even like the movie all that much. He is still one of my favorite actors though. If you watch him in Deadwood, Go, or even Girl Next Door, his “mad” look is just awesome.

LOL jeez you should have gone with a Hans Gruber avatar.

At least ole Timmy was pretty psychotic in Scream 2.

I second the Deadwood recommendation. He’s great on that, but it’s a fantastic show in general.

I actually really liked Go and Girl Next Door. Both were underrated movies in my book.

Saw Hancock yesterday, was pleasently suprised. I rather enjoyed it, most of the audience was laughing along quite enthusiastically. Overall a very good film.

I saw we own the night finally. I was really taken, didn’t think i was going to like it going in. Really good movie though…

Eva mendez looked quite delicioius in the first scene…

I watched a few movies this weekend.

Fools Gold, I didn’t think it was terrible, but I didn’t think it was good either. My wife liked it though.

Semi-Pro, I thought this movie was just bad. It wasn’t at the same level of bad as Superbad but I wish I hadn’t watched it.

Atonement, I liked it. I didn’t think it was great but felt it was worth watching.

I also watched about half of Charlie Wilsons War, I was really liking this movie but I’m probably going to have to start over from the beginning when I get time to finish it.

This week…
12 Angry Men - Great
Juno - Good
City of God - Excellent

I’ve never seen the classic Casablanca, but I plan to later this week.

I just saw “There Will Be Blood” last night. It occurred to me that your avatar is “Daniel”.

Great movie, especially for a former geologist ;)[/quote]

I thought it was an okay movie…it was missing stuff…like a plot and an ending.

NO country for old men, the psycho guys is amazing.

Seriously the javier bardem, really made the movie, the plot was ok, but unoriginal. It was all the caliber of acting that made the movie. For all characters, his was just most interesting…

I watched:

Hancock - I liked it a lot, but I think I built it up in my head too much.

How to Rob a Bank - Boooooorrrring.

Banshee - I need to stop renting these straight to DVD films. This one was awful too.

Sex and Death 101 - This wasn’t that bad. I thought the idea was interesting. Imagine if just before you are supposed to get married, you get a mysterious email with all the names of everyone you’ve had sex with and are going to have sex with, and you see that you still have about 70 names to go on the list.

My Blueberry Nights - The story wasn’t bad and it has a good cast, but it was too slow. It’s only 90 minutes and felt like it was over two hours.

Robocop - Just felt like watching it again.

The Big Lebowski - I never get tired of watching it.

Dexter Season One - I finally finished this up. I really liked it, but I still didn’t like the sister by the end of the season. She was annoying and the weak link of the show.

Most of the time, I think anything with Philip Seymour Hoffman in it is worth watching just for his performance. I thought he was the best part about Charlie Wilson’s War.

Semi-Pro
Man, this movie had so much potential and instead it came off as a half-assed effort by just about everyone. Thank goodness for Redbox, as it only set me back a buck.

Sahara
Yeah, it’s a few years old now, but just got around to watching it. I found it to be a good action movie. It seems McConaughey plays the same character in just about every movie, but he’s at least tolerable. Zahn plays a good sidekick and Penelope Cruz delivered a good performance.

The Police: Everyone Stares - Going in I knew it was supposed to be Stewart’s Super 8 footage from the early years, but I didn’t think that was ALL it would be. A few interesting tid-bits, but pretty boring in general. Stewart’s dull commentary over everything was pretty bad too.

Last weeek I watched:
Goodfellas
The Godfather
American Gangster.

the big lebowski. never gets old.

There’s just no pleasing some people.

What are ya gonna want next-- Character development?

Vantage Point- a political thriller seen from numerous points of view. One POV explains another until you are able to piece it together. All around it was entertaining. Great cast with Matthew Fox, Sigourney Weaver, and Dennis Quaid. The plot was original and well done IMO.

Fools Gold- Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson team up in searching for treasure in the Carribean. Not worth the rental IMO, lame story and acting to boot.

Untraceable- Diane Lane stars in this thriller where an internet killer kills at the speed of how many people log onto the website to watch. The more who log on, the faster the person dies. Original in plot and definitely a mind teaser. Entertaining although I thought the ending could be better.

I watched fucking Tango and Cash this weekend at work. Hell yeah! A girl I work with brought it in on DVD, so I sat in my office and watched it.

About Timothy Olyphant and Deadwood, I agree that he was good in that, but whenever he had to face off against Swearengen, he came off the worse. The guy is just not a first rate actor. Of course, no one came off good against Swearengen, except for George Hearst, who was played by Major Dad.

Gonna see Bigger, Stronger, Faster, either tonight or tomorrow.

The Transporter - Weak plot and poor musical score, but a good movie for mindless action.

I dashed out during the day yesterday and saw “Get Smart”.

I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was going to be campy like Austin Powers, but it had a nice mix of sillyness and action, plus a plot twist I didn’t see coming. There were also appearances by General Zod and The Tick, so what’s not to like?
