I saw The Big Lebowski for the first time (on hulu.com). Good movie.

With a house full of kids it is hard to see movies with this level of swearing. I saw part of it on TV w/o swearing and it was unwatcheable.

Watching on-line with headphones was the key.

Audition - Finally saw this movie. Wasn’t really that good. The description of the torture scene was much worse than actually watching it.

Drillbit Taylor - I’m a fan of Owen Wilson, so any movie with him is going to be somewhat amusing. This was one of his worst though.

Thriller Uncut - A 70’s Swedish grindhouse film. The violence really wasn’t any worse than the horror movies these days. The sex scenes were pretty much hardcore porn though.

Sex scenes that are almost porn?!

…adds to queue.

You know what made me laugh about this was the cast listing. This one in particular I thought was funny.

Despina Tomazani - Lesbian

I hope this is the right movie anyway. Does she only have one eye?

im just about to watch Platoon. i hear its epic?

Haha yup, that’s the one.

So far this week I’ve watched:

Be Kind Rewind - This was just okay for me. The short movies they made were funny, but everything else was just kind of blah.

The Bucket List - Again, this was just okay for me. Not great, but not bad either.

Knock Knock - I love bad horror films where the killer displays inexplicable super strength. In one scene the killer manages to stab a guy completely through his chest with the blunt end of a mop handle.

Jumper- ok movie, not bad, not great

Layer Cake - I’ve been avoiding this movie even though I knew it would be good. I think the name reminds me of a chick flick. It was definitely good though.

Untraceable - It was just ok. A little better than I expected mainly because of the innovative ways to kill people.

I’m really starting to run out of stuff to watch. I think I’ve seen every Hollywood movie worth seeing, and many of the good foreign ones.

Fortunately, I’ve skipped enough good movies over the years that I have plenty of older stuff in my queue to watch. Otherwise, I’d be out of stuff like you. Then again, I’m a sucker for bad slasher flicks and there’s an endless supply of those.

Speaking of foreign films, have you watched 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days? I just finished watching that. I neglected to mention it in my post because I really didn’t have an opinion on it. It was one of those foreign films I had a tough time getting through, but I know a few people that thought it was really good. I liked The Diving Bell and The Butterfly if you haven’t seen that either.

I’ve heard quite a bit about 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days. From the description I just can’t see how it would be something I want to watch. I will watch it someday though.

I did watch The Diving Bell and The Butterfly. Man, that movie was not enjoyable. Don’t get me wrong it was very well done, but I found it gave me a lot of anxiety. They really make you feel like you are him with the filming of the blinks. And that isn’t a good feeling. Is it bad that I would rather die than have to live with Locked-In syndrome?

Alfie - Ended up watching this tonight too. It is my third viewing, and I have to say it is definitely one of my favorite films.

blood diamond - Good

I felt the same way. It was a good movie, but it was like being buried alive. I could see how you get claustrophobic from watching it. If that’s what the makers of the movie were going for, then they succeeded.

And yes, if I were in that situation and learned to communicate with eye blinks, then the first thing I would have spelled out was, “PLEASE KILL ME!”

I’m assuming you mean the original and not the Jude Law version.

Kung fu Panda- This was really good.

The Incredible Hulk- Do I really need to say anything about this movie? Awesome

The Strangers- Downloaded it. Glad I did because it would not be worth paying for

Just got done watching “Stop Loss”.

It came out earlier this year and is about guys who think they’re getting out of the military, but get sent back in anyway. It started out really well, but ground to a halt about 2/3 of the way in. I’d say it’s a DVD rent and not a buy.

We Own The Night

Not that good. Story had too many holes and I thought they rushed through Joaquin Phoneix’s characater transformation from bad-guy club promoter to good-guy cop.

Eva Mendes looked good, though, so that helped some.

Probably going to see Prince Caspian tomorrow at the $1 theater.

Here’s what I watched this weekend:

Fools Gold - This was just okay. It felt longer than it actually was. It wasn’t paced well at all.

Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins - Pretty corny, but made me laugh in a few spots. Also, was way too long for the type of movie it was.

Chaos Theory - This movie is kind of depressing, but it was well done.

Appleseed - I like this movie, but I made the mistake of watching the sequel before this one.

Transporter 2 - Not a great movie, but sometimes it’s fun to shut off your brain and watch cool car chases and see Jason Statham beat up groups of people.

Urban Legends: Bloody Mary - A week wouldn’t be compete without watching a terrible horror flick.

The Incredible Hulk - There’s not much more I can say about this movie that what’s already been said about it. I loved it!

Jude Law version actually haha. I knows he’s a little gay at times, but he’s also hella smooth man!

Crows Zero - Japanese high school gangster movie. It’s by a well known director named Takashi Miike. I love watching movies like this. The plot is usually pretty weak, as it was with this one, but the style, cinematography, fighting, and badassness is great.

The Ruins - Mehhh kinda sucked.

21 - Pretty crappy movie, but I always like movies with geniuses in them. Makes me want to go read some textbooks.

Drillbit Taylor: I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. I want to know where Apatow productions keeps digging up these hilarious kids. They seem to never miss! I didn’t see all of it, due to being at work, but I’m definitely renting it very soon.

Trailer Park Boys: It’s about 3 guys and their attempts at stealing stuff in order to pay the lot fees at their trailer park, and it is hysterical. I’m not only buying the DVD, but tracking down the TV episodes the movie is based on.
