White Noise - It’s not terrifying, but something about that movie made me uneasy. I’m not one to scare big from these movies but this movie really did something for me.

Silent Hill - When the janitor caming crawling out of the bathroom stall wrapped in barbed wire. Whoa.

A Haunting in Conneticut - When the boy is in the basement and his mother is trying to get console him/get him up, the lights start flickering and you see the ghost/burned boy lurching up behind them but only he can see it. That was really something.
YES! White noise disturbed me somehow - was it the voices? Trapped loved ones? A completely menacing presence bubbling just behind all the technology that surrounds us?

AND! Paranormal Activity - that left a fecking scar.

El Orfanato - Not only freaky, but thoughtful too. The image of the kid scared the fuck out of me.
…White Noise was just dark. I don’t know why, I saw it in theaters and parts had people screaming.

The Devils Rejects is also one I’d consider scary. Killer without a cause is just so fucked up.
I believe in the movie they refer to it as “random acts of killing”, the idea behind that is scary.

Not a movie, but Are You Afraid of the Dark was scary as shit growing up!

Hah! “Now for the approval of the midnight society…” I loved that show.
Growing up TV was so cool a typical week’s viewing was something like…

Tales From The Crypt
Tales From The Darkside
The Hitchhiker
Are you Afraid of The Dark?
Monsters
Outer Limits

…among other non-scary shows.

Hell yeah, the one with the monster in the swimming pool kept me from swimming in my pool by myself until I was 16 lol.

Black Christmas
House on Haunted Hill
The Ring
The Grudge
Paranormal Activity

i scare easy

when i was little i thought the burbs was a real horror movie

The Burbs! That’s awesome haha.
I haven’t seen Black Christmas but all I hear are good things… I seriously need to pick this one up.

“Filthy Billy, I know what you did nasty Billy!”

LOL ya black christmas is a good one. if i picture the crazy guy’s eyeball in the crack of the doorway i won’t sleep.

I guess you’re not sleepin’ tonight, huh?

The THING. 80s version. You couldn’t freaking kill it. As long as one cell was intact it could infect and take over anything. In the end when the dog goes running off from the base you’re left to wonder what comes next. I stayed up till the wee hours thinking about how you could stop it if it got into a populated area.

No one will agree, but I thought Drag Me To Hell was pretty scary, occult stuff freaks me out. That was the worst part about Paranormal Activity!

Cube is good too, a true cult classic. Scary because no one knows why the fuck they’ve been snatched. Not seen the sequels, they look like shit and I don’t want to spoil my memories of the original.

I was talking about this one with some dude yesterday. It’s about a psycho killer talking turkey.

It’s fucking stupid. It has a few really funny moments, but it’s just a really dumb movie. I couldn’t stop watching it though.

Check it out…if you dare…

I loved Drag Me to Hell. I don’t know why so many people hated it.

The movie Frayed disturbed me. It seems like a standard low budget slasher flick and we even laughed through most of it because the killer wears a clown mask. Then they hit you with this disturbing ending and it REALLY bothered me, for days. I don’t want to give away the ending but good god, it just kept coming back on me because it was so fucked up.

Frayed? I’ll have to look this up…

The Hills Run Red was an alright movie, I’m sure it’d freak some of you guys out.

Where can I go to rent these movies? Even netflix doesn’t have them.
They’re pretty tough to find. I’d be surprised if you could find rentals for them anywhere, to be honest.

I have to warn you, though, if you end up finding them, the August Underground movies are really quite extreme. Knowing you I’m sure you’re fine with it, though.

i CBA reading the thread has anyone said the ring, it freaked the shit outa me, i was like 13 though, still freaks me out though.

Troll 2

How about …

night of the living dead…now I wouldnt classify it as terribly scary but that fucking black guy survived the whole night erybody else dead, and what happens he gets killed by a redneck sherriff, now that fucked me up.

Im a big EvilDead fan, I always found these more funny then scary, but when one of the girls got raped by a tree it kept me up cuz it got me horny.

As a kid the first poltergeist fucked me up, espescially the clown scene.

Ditto, and the special effects were plain filthy… IE: the dog scene or the scene where the guy goes to administer paddles

I couldn’t get into paranormal activity, i found myself saying “ehhh” a lot.

The Thing and Event Horizon are classics and from what I remember some of the first Nightmare on Elm Streets.

Man I that movie had me jumping out of my chair like a scared rabbit, damn toothless hag.

When I was a kid it was DAWN OF THE DEAD. I laughed thru most of it even then but was freaked out in the dark for 4 weeks after.

Exorcism of Emily Rose. My girlfriend at the time woke up as it went from 2:59 to 3am, the time when ghosts supposedly can cross over, and freaked the fuck out.
