Movie That Shoulda' Sucked...

A third movie was the only (somewhat) reasonable explanation I could come up with to explain that… but I think they could’ve gone about it a little smoother. Then again, I generally dislike sequels that involve none of the original cast so I might just be bitter it didn’t wrap up tightly enough.
It was such an abrupt, confusing ending. Out comes the shovel…THUNK!!..I just sat there and said “Oh” to myself. They could have had Johnny-5 from Short Circuit roll up to the escape hole and it would have made more sense…

Godzilla Final Wars actually the whole millenium series from Godzilla 2000 to Final Wars is worth a watch. In Final Wars the mean green lizard takes on every single one of his old monster foes, including 'Zilla the god awful creature from the americann version. The beauty of the film can be seen in the New York pimp vs cop scene so bad yet so good. I have a soft spot in my heart for the giant lizard as I watched creature double feature on uhf 56 when I was a lad

The box, I just caught it last night on Starz or showtime. If you like scifi this is really better than I thought. Kind of slow but very intriguing could see a possible sequel but I dont think it got the money from the box office.

I hadn’t seen it because I literally heard nothing about it from anyone. Hell, you are the first person to even mention it that I’ve personally seen.

I’ll rent it now.

I have a thing for movies when I see a trailer I will pretty much remember it, so was scrolling through the directv guide last night and remembered the trailer. NOT at all what I expected also not a Hollywood ending either. Like I said more of a drama Scifi.

Useless fact: It’s based on a short story written by Richard Matheson (guy who wrote I Am Legend). It’s also an episode of The Twilight Zone.

I haven’t seen it yet. It’s been on my rental list for ages but the service is useless…

Saw that in the credits, I dont think the youth of the today with their attention span of a 2 year old on meth can be patient and enjoy the whole movie. Not enough big pretty lights.

I agree with the person that put up “Trick or Treat” that one was very good anthology throwback.

Not sure if anyone mentioned “The Mist” but I thought that was one of the best ones of the year. It had a great bleak ending that reminded me of those 70’s sci-fi horror movie endings…you know, where instead of everything ending up ok, William Shatner pulls back the curtain to find the whole town engulfed in spider webs? Yeah…just like that.
Agreed. The Mist is one of my favorites now. They got about as close to the short story as humanly possible on screen…aside from that HUGE change of an ending.
I really enjoyed The Mist! Definitely one of my favorites!

don’t know if anyone already mentioned “Frailty”. When my wife rented it from the local video store I didn’t have that much expectation at first, but this movie turned out awesome!!!

Frailty was amazing!

I liked Bill Paxton in it the best. He played his part extremely well. Every time I see him I can’t help think back to his debut in Terminator 1, as the punk who says “FUCK YOU ASSHOLE!!”

Yeah i agree on Frailty - brilliant movie.

Anyone seen the Hunted with Christopher Lambert - set in Japan, swords etc - really liked that movie. Also Blind Fury with Rutger Hauer.

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned, but “The Exorcism of Emily Rose” was really good. It’s the only film I can think of that successfully combined horror and legal genres

I enjoyed it… but didn’t expect to.

Tom Hanks Greatest acting experience - 1984 The Bachelor Party:

Watch “Below”. There was no way this movie could have been any good. I mean really, a WW 2 submarine, a cargo freighter, and ghosts. Had one of the absolutely creepiest scenes in all of movie history. Watch this one with your girl and I guarantee a fright hug. Not going to ruin it, but “reversed image” should get it.

Speaking of Christopher Lambert, Beowulf.

Hell Yeah!!! I’m in the process of ordering every last Godzilla movie on DVD! I’ve seen all of them except for those that follow Godzilla 2000. I used to LOVE it when WPIX in Brooklyn would host the “Godzillathon Weekends”.

And Count…have to agree with Four60 and X, Bring It On was enjoyable. Surprisingly.

The Other Guys can go on this list. Watched a bootleg copy of it and actually laughed at Ferrel and Wahlberg’s lines.

It was unique in that way, but Haunting in Connecticut was another one that seemed to equally balance the supernatural with a possible natural explanation of events (medical instead of legal focus) and then leaving it up to the viewers to decide what really happened. Of the two, I think Haunting in Connecticut was creepier and Emily Rose was a little more “realistic”.

Cube! Haven’t seen any of the sequels though.

Yep, Connecticut was another good one. Are you going to see “The Last Exorcism”? The previews didn’t really hook me but it seems to be getting very positive reviews
