mountain bike question

just a dumb question
i’m a recreational mountain biker, i changed the tube on my back tire, but by accident bought a 24" tube instead of a 26" tube, the 24" went in there and everything seems fine, you guys think it will make a difference at all?
am i at risk of it blowing up?
thanks

Nah, you’ll be OK if you keep a decent amount of pressure in the tube. You essentially created a “poor man’s unltralight tube” - the 24"er’s rubber will be thinner since it’s stretched out ala the really light XC racig 26" tubes.

Ultimately, tire sidewalls and air pressure have more influece on flatting than the tube thickness.

No, provided you’re not a heavyweight rockbombing with fuzzies. Keep a spare (or two) with you anyway, and up the pressure.

I agree with everyone else. keep the pressure up or your chances of pinch flatting will be good. I’d go get the correct tubes for spares.
