Exactly what is wrong with the first two films of the Halloween series? Classics.

The others don’t compare to it. I haven’t watched the American remake, but I’m sure it lost some edge over the original
I haven’t seen it either. But I can tell you what it definitely won’t have: That fine-ass Spanish newswoman. Damn.
28 Days Later Best Horror/Zombie/Survival movie ever
I always thought They was a really freaky movie. The acting was kind of weak but the concept has always been creepy as fuck to think about, and some scenes that you absolutely always jump at no matter what.
A Simple Plan
Teeth
Inside
Frontiers
High Tension
Let the Right One In
Kwaidan
Midnight Meat Train had some scares, but far too gory for this list.
First off K80, let me say this FUCK YOU & AND THAT MOVIE lmao
for movies like Exorcist, I’d say The Emily Rose Exorcism was far better.
The reason I dont like Halloween is the fact that I cannot tell either of them apart. I can watch 8 and it will feel the same as 1 to…although that old man in the movies probably molested micheal myers while in the hospital ( just a thought)
Let the Right One In, hells yea, how could I (of all people forget that one…I mean I am a vampire)
pch2 that list is wicked
13 ghosts, pumpkinhead, poltergeist- no no no. what are you guys 7?
Carlito those two are stunners for sure
and the zombie movies…you cannot go wrong with them if theye done right. Too many times theyve been cheesed up by putting them in a graveyard, with the thunderstorm and all that. To capture the reality of the event for me, I need to see zombies attacking Wal Mart and walking into gyms in plain daylight. Nontheles, that hopeless feeling is the one that lets you know you’ve seen a great horrorcore movie.
I’ve seen REC and its wicked I can say that American remake doesnt have the chill of the original.

The Descent. Some of the claustrophobic parts early in the movie had me squirming in my seat.
This Descent was very well done. The soundtrack alone is chilling.
Event Horizon started out great. The concept is brilliant, but I think it could have been pulled off better with a different director. IMHO.
I saw The Exorcist as a child, and it shook me to the core. But I recently saw The Exorcism of Emily Rose and it was quite chilling! Especially when you consider it’s based on true events… and then look up the pics of the real Emily on Google. The before and after pictures are just plain EVIL.
I was younger when I first saw it but I remember What Lies Beneath being pretty creepy.
Also, Village of the Damned. Creepy ass white haired kids.

Well, that’s what happens when you have Temporal Lobe Epilepsy and are neglected proper medical treatment… Still, the movie was well-done.
I’m really surprised no one else is about exploitation around here…

Let the Right One In - It’s in Swedish, but I didn’t notice the subtitles at all. The guys keep calling it a disturbing horror movie about vampires, but I don’t think we saw the same movie. I thought it was romantic and happened to have vampires and carnage. Regardless, horror fans must watch. Let the Right One In Official HD Trailer - YouTube

trust me, we are
I agree on Evil dead. Sam Rammi is the man. Anyone who can add humor to a horror flick and still make it scary as shit has some talent. I can’t wait to go see Drag me to Hell. Supposedly, it’s better than Evil dead. (Metacritic.com)
To add to the fucked up list.

I also watched just The Box short from Three Extremes. Everything Miike does is just so pretty, he can make watching someone being burned alive look beautiful. MOVIE : SAAM GAANG YI (Three Extremes) {BOX} [2004] - YouTube
ok so… how about 1408? You guys like that one? I have to say that there were times in that where I was pretty freaked out and at the end of it my wife and I both felt like we had just lived through the battle of Normandy or something. Shaky and nervous…

You know, I thought the first half of the movie was great. It was adapted pretty well from the short story. The movie set up the room and the horror behind it pretty well… I think almost to the point that you were feeling the horror as well when Cusack was exploring the room.
At one point, though, I think it just got a little “over the top.” I wish it would’ve kept with the psychological games throughout the rest of the movie. Instead, we got something that resembled “The Day After Tomorrow: Hotel Version.” That, and they showed way too many of the jumpy parts in the previews. Didn’t jump once.
I don’t want it to sound like I didn’t enjoy it, though, because I watch it any time it’s on Starz/HBO/whatever.
:::EDIT
Yes, I know this doesn’t fit in with the context of the rest of this thread. My bad.

What are the best zombie movies in your guys’ opinion?

Dawn of the Dead -remake is on the list for sure
I’m not a horror movie expert in any way at all, but as I’m typing this I’m watching 28 Weeks Later which I am totally enjoying. I don’t know which one I prefer more though, days or weeks. Both are good in my opinion. Though, 28 Weeks has one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever heard in my life.
I thought Dawn of the Dead was cheesy as shit, but I liked it because the mall they used was right across the street from my house and half the scenes in it were local areas.
I got all 3 Evil Dead movies, I think they’re shit to be honest but I love them at the same time. More comedy horror than anything else.
1408 was awesome, but like already stated in this thread I thought it got way too out of hand. I agree with it being better if it remained more as a psychological thriller rather than the apocalypse in one room.
Land of The Dead is badass, because John Leguizamo is badass.
I may be ridiculed for this one, but I really enjoyed The Mist. It shows how primal man can really be, and how influenced we are on everything. I also thought the ending was the most gut wrenching thing I’ve ever seen.
Like I said, I’m no horror expert but thats all I can remember off hand. With exception being the Resident Evil movies which I love but I don’t really consider horror. More action movies than anything.
