Holy shit bro…Leave Jack Johnson and DMB out of this. They did nothing to you! They are some great bands to listen to when I need to unwind after work or just in general. VERY musically talented, especially DMB. And who better to pump you up to workout than Korn or Godsmack? Damn yo!

I know what I’m getting you for your birthday. Including such classics as:

01 Sweet Home Alabam| Lynrd Skynyrd
02 Ramblin’ Man| Allman Brothers
03 Bad To The Bone | George Thorogood & The Destroyers

04 Flirtin’ WIth Disaster| Molly Hatchet
08 Keep Your Hands To Yourself | Georgia Satellites

11 Dixie Chicken| Little Feat
12 Black Betty | Ram Jam
16 The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down | The Band
17 The Devil Went Down To Georgia | Charlie Daniels Band
Do you have to be an abnoxious yankee to get a copy of this for your birthday? Or can regular folks get on that list? 'Cause, you know, I’d like a copy while you’re in a generous mood.

DMB is not annoying…their fans are annoying. Every college student in this country has been brain washed into thinking that DMB is the second coming. It is absolutely amazing. Enroll in college and you must worship DMB. DMB fans always respond to this with “yeah…but they’re great in concert.” And please…take all of these pseudo punk pop bands that wear eyeliner, pin striped suits and converse shoes. They all wear the “uniform” and all sound the same. Nick Cave and Tom Waits rule!!

Jack Johnson is that ultra sensitive folk rock.

Rush!?! How could you say that? One of the best Goddamned bands ever! EVER!!!

The Rembrandts: I vomit a little bit every time I hear that Friends song.

Good Charolette: I think this is self explanitory.

Creed/Nickelback/Puddle of Mud/Three Doors Down/ Stained/ Hoobastank/ Fuel/ Godsmack/etc.: Is there any difference between them?

Kenny G: He should have been a Blow Job
They are actually one band named “Puddle of a Theory of a Dead Nickel-Creed”

They suck in all of their incarnations.

I would have to say, I really can’t stand DMB. But puddle of mudd really is not that bad. I saw them live and they did a very good job. In the same show I saw system of a down, nickelback, coldplay, blink 182, and crystal method. The only one who impressed me was crystal method…

I could see where you would think Metallica sold out, but In Flames and Arch Enemy? HOw? What could you base that on? Angela Gossow still sounds awesome and the band still kicks your ass.
I agree that Gossow can still do it and the solos on the last album were great, but the directon the band is going. Almost every song has one of those metalcore breakdowns in it and is just not as good as their previos albums. In Flames I just cant listen to anymore. The last three cd’s are very sub-par compared to everything they did before that, and Anders has started this emo whine thing going.

Perhaps sellouts wasn’t the best term, however I feel that they are going the following the trend that commercial “metal” is and they arent playing to their true potential.

they’re all the same band.

I’ve seen rush twice live.I think they’re very talented musicians.

Haha I concur

Dude, what do you listen to? Why do you hate metal? and why do you say in flames sold out?

Can’t believe nobody mentioned Michael Jackson. Everybody’s favorite “little boy” lovin sellout!

No matter what Michael may have done, you can’t deny how great his songs and showmanship are.
Whoa! That is like saying Ty Cobb wasn’t a great baseball player just because he was racist.

“So, you don’t think that Michael Jackson is guilty?”
"No, man. He made “Thiller”… “Thiller”
“Would you let your kids sleep over his house?”
“Would I let MY kids sleep over at his house? F***, no!”

As for some of the other artists mentioned here…

DMB… while I am not one of biggest fans I will not deny that they have a very high level of talent. I mean the guy can sing and if you have ever seen a video of him playing guitar it is amazing. Also, the violinst is just as amazing if you check out some of his videos online.

Sean Combs aka Diddy no longer P. Diddy and no longer Puff Daddy… just to let you guys know. I will be the first to call bullshit on that and sure 90% of the guys songs are remixes. But the guy does more than sing. And that is where I have to give him the credit. The guy is an animal. He is a singer, a producer, he owns Bad Boys entertainment and Sean John clothing, a movie production company and a restaurant chain.

The guy is worth over $315 million so he is obviously doing something right. I can’t believe that no one has mentioned the new and upcoming Diddy, Kayne West. I know a lot of people hate him especially with some of his political views but I have to say that he is also very talented and I would not be surprised if he does become as big as Sean Combs like the entertainment company is precicting.

50 Cent and Eminem… there is just something about there music that I find extremely talented. Just like DMB, I may not personally love them but I can’t help but liking just about every song that they write.

Madonna… flame away on this one but she has got a ton of talent. She has “re-invented” herself a million times to keep selling records. Sure it sounds more like selling out but Madonna seems more like the type that does what she wants. Also, the girl is still smoking for her age.

As for the one band that I absolutely hate… CREED!

You know what kind of music fans I hate? The ones that are always criticizing a band’s new material as “sold out” or “not raw enough”. You always have that know-it-all asshole who tries to impress you by talking about how great the band was before they were popular or how great underground music is.

It’s being trendy through anti-trend. I can’t stand goths either. It pisses me off that so many kids trying to fight MMA look like ex-goths who got picked on in high school and now they can fight. They’re still losers as far as I’m concerned.

My bottom 5:

5.Coldplay
4.Coldplay
3.Coldplay
2.Coldplay
1.Coldplay

Bands I can’t stand;
-the Fag Mathews Band

-Staind (especially to anyone who asks me if I listen to metal, and then follows that up with “yeah, Staind’s new album rocks, right?” NO.)

-Green Day (I blame them for this god-awful pop-punk hybrid shit that’s so
F-ing popular now)

-The White Stripes (I guess i just don’t get it?)

-Lincoln Park (Again, yes, I listen to Metal, and NO, LP is NOT METAL.)

-COUNTRY. Good lord, I hate this garbage.

Oh, and Nolecat, I find the remark about “every college student loving Dave Mathews” to be offensive. As a college student/metalhead, I would like nothing more than to string Dave up with barbed wire from our school’s goal post, drench him in gasoline and ignite it. That would be the only time I would find his voice (screams) to be entertaining.

I couldn’t agree with you more on both points. Arch Enemy is definitely headed in a bad direction although they aren’t too far gone that they can’t come back and release another album on par w/ Wages of Sin. As far as In Flames goes…I wrote them off as whiny shit metal ever since they released Reroute. The fact that I have to specify which albums of theirs I actually do like when people ask me about In Flames pisses me off.

I’m pretty sure by sellout he meant that they’ve changed drastically from their roots to conform with more mainstream metal.

Thank you Hatebreeder, and I definately dont hate metal. I listen to stuff such as Amon Amarth, Immortal, Children of Bodom, etc. Mostly Black and Death metal with other genres and sub-genres in their. What I am saying mostly is that I dont like the direction these bands have taken. Now my question is did you start listening to them once MTV and Headbangers BAll started playing them and only that newer material was played, or have you been listening to them since their first releases where the true musicianship lies?
