Shit, since you mentioned it, just look at the lyrics for Rock You Like a Hurricane by The Scorpions:
The bitch is hungry
She needs to tell
So give her inches
And feed her well
More days to come
New places to go
Ive got to leave
Its time for a show
Here I am, rocked you like a hurricane
Not-so-subtly describing fucking groupies and declaring, “yeah, bitch I tore that pussy up! Now beat it!”
Refering to Van Halen as “one of them other sucky 80’s bands” is like refering to The Beatles or The Rolling Stones as “one of them sucky 60’s bands”. Regardless of whether you liked them or not, they were all very relevant for their time and have a massive body of work that is, for the most part, timeless.

Both band actually started in the 70s. Scorpions go back to '72 or '73 and VH started around '75 or '76.
The Scorpions are an interesting band to bring up. They started in the early 70s as a psychedelic band and morphed into a unique rock band that defies description. Great rhythm guitar, strong bass lines, and the death-defying guitar work of Uli Jon Roth, whose whammy-bar antics rank second only to Hendrix.
They kept rocking through the disco, punk, and new wave eras and there’s a lot to say about that! (don’t get me going about Motorhead, I’ll never shut up) The Scorps definitely took a pop-turn in the 80s (Roth had left by '78 or '79), but anything up until the Blackout album is worth a listen.
You may have a little trouble finding these songs on Limewire or wherever, but they’re definitely worth a listen:
I’m Going Mad
In Trance (coolest double-track guitar solo)
Catch Your Train (whammy bar heaven)
The Riot of Your Time
AND
The Sails of Charon (with Duke Ellington’s Caravan worked into the opening guitar riffs)
Sorry to hijack the annoying song thread, with Scott’s annoying reminiscences (sp?).
