Morning Catabolic State...

So here is the deal…
I’m officially cutting and I have to do my cardio in the morning before breakfast. I am also quite afraid of burning what little muscle I do have by over-doing it a bit because I love to run. So my plan is to consume a whey protein shake(yes I ordered some nasty EAS whey protein) prior to doing my cardio. Will that prevent any muscle loss? Thanks to all who know more than I.

As long as you’re getting enough protein in general so that you’re not breaking down your muscles you will be fine. Taking 2 scoops of Low-Carb Grow! before bed or other slow digesting protein (cottage cheese) plus the BS…I mean EAS shake in the morning should be fine. But, if you get 10 grams of protein the whole day before the run, you will be breaking down no matter what you have in the morning. Go for AT LEAST 1 gram protein per pound of bw during the day before. AT LEAST.

Yeah, I got that part down. I would use Grow! but I was afraid it wouldn’t digest fast enough to do any good. I do the PB/GRrow! pudding thing before bed so I should be good to go.

Take pure Casein protein before bed… Althouh i’m a big fan of Low-Carb Grow!, i don’t take it before bed, as it’s a blend of casein and whey… I just take Grow! spaced between my meals during the day, and save the 100 % casein at nighttime so that I get full benefits of the slow release… without the quickly assimilated whey protein blend… why take that, that late??? Seems like a waste.

That being said, you can totally take Grow! before your cardio, as it has both slow and fast acting protein… for the immediate and later benefit… word to the anti-catabolic state… plus, if you’re cutting, why not go Low-Carb Grow!?
