The current arrangement I have with this friend is exactly what I want
I don’t either
I find the idea of touching another person’s saliva (or other bodily fluids for that matter) utterly repulsive.
yes
I don’t thinks so, but there is a high significant positive correlation between intellectual ability/work ethic and how attracted I am someone
I also really value how he’s willing to put his work over me (or a social life in general) and that “romantic relationships isn’t something I’m looking for out of my college experience”
For me it’s just the concept of tongues touching. I don’t like the texture… Very odd, I know…
Started when I was fed beef tongue as a kid. I’m up for trying just about any exotic food I can find… I’ve eaten some REALLY eccentric foods.
Spinal column, cow udders, chicken hearts, snails, other… Things… you name it. The tongue was the only one that seriously repulsed me. I’ll eat almost anything once! Habaneros, ghost pepper! The latter had me kneeling over and asking for an ambulance for a minute or two… Never again… And I’m very good with spicy food
I was SURE a hole had burnt through my stomach lining. I’d like to think that’s what dying feels like…
I like to think everyone is equal and deserves a special star for participation.
That’s why we see MANY renowned doctors with down syndrome, why women routinely break Eddie Hall’s deadlift record and why body positivity is always good thing no matter the physique we are promoting. A morbidly obese body is just as beautiful relative to an Olympic swimmers body! If you tell me I’m wrong then you’re somehow racist, because that’s how people who think this way argue!
Haven’t you seen Victoria’s secret is phasing out attractive women in their advertisements?
For those who wish to bury their heads in the sand, pretending everyone is equal no matter the biological construct at hand… I ask you, why is being tall a prized commodity within our society? Why are high school athletes, high achieving academics given more attention and put into the spotlight far more often relative to the average student?
Why do some people hardly study in school and take nothing seriously yet manage to pass by with average to above average to above average marks across the board? Whereas others need tutors and hours of studying per day in order to scrape by and pass.
How come Joe could rep 100kg the first time he ever got under a bench but Jack could barely lift the bar?
Some of the woke crowd will even resort to challenging my statement “men are on average biologically stronger than women”.
I get the answer “not always”
Take a room of ten guys selected and random and ten women, chances are the weakest guy will still be stronger than the strongest woman… Actually I think they’ve done this kind of thing before…
Same thing goes with IQ… or any biological facet. Not everyone is beautiful, not everyone is smart, not everyone is strong. You can work with what you’ve got and improve various parameters through hard work and dedication, but you’ll never top the genetic cream of the crop unless you happen to harbour those genetics yourself.
I’m of the opinion they IQ is somewhat biologically determined (this is pretty obvious), but that it can also be changed.
The way IQ is currently measured also seems to correlate highly with mathematical thinking. simply learning more maths can improve IQ score, but idk if it’s necessarily the case that the person actually got more intelligent
If you smoke a whole lot of crack IQ drops… If you drink excessively, IQ drops. As a matter of fact alcohol is so toxic, there are peer reviewed studies indicative even occasional binge drinking has a met negative effect on IQ; though the effect is marginal. A drop of say… 1-2 IQ points isn’t going to kill anyone
If you sustain extensive head trauma through combat sports (this worries me a little bit), or through an accident, IQ can be affected. Neurodegenerative diseases can also effect IQ
On a positive note, reading, working on projects… Using your brain to solve complex algorithms etc can have a net positive effect. It’s not a static variable, but you aren’t going to go from having an IQ of 100 to having an IQ of 135… it’s just not happening.
Agreed. A prof showed me an example of someone who went from 125 (test at age 10) to 145 (test at age 22 and studying maths undergrad) , but that didn’t take the effects of maturing into account
impairs motor coordination, frequently leading to injury
hangovers
Some new literature has come out indicative there is no safe level for ethanol consumption, rather every single standard drink you consume per week is additive risk
Arguments for alcohol
it’s fun
socially accepted
acts as a great social lubricant if not abused.
Granted I hardly EVER drink nowdays. I’m just not a fan of it. A little bit of wine, a smidgen of whisky or a beer here and there isn’t the end of the world though. It’s not good for you, but many things aren’t good for you…
If I recall correctly, IQ is about 80% from genes. It can be brought up a bit by environment and study, but not much. Furthermore I do not know why hate and bigotry has to brought up if one recognizes the differences in average IQ of groups of people. From what I’ve observed people do not like this generally while at the same time pointing out the high average IQ’s and intelligence of some groups.
People do this all the time. They’ll say X group is good at studying/math/with money/music/sports, or is so highly disciplined, or has a peculiar habit or worldview, and then go on to say others shouldn’t generalize because it’s pointless or no good.
Back in the 1800’s/early 1900’s, a stark differentiation in IQ was observed from within those who lived up north and those who lived down south enveloped within what we today would call “redneck culture”.
The lower scoring on cognitive testing was reflective of the poor educational standards within the environment present down south at the time.
As you’ve specified, it’s not a MASSIVE difference, more akin to 10-20%. I can try dig up the research if you’re interested.
It’s late here. Unreal24278 has to get to bed
Clocking out for the night, have a good day (or night) everyone
I think @anna_5588 would concur with what I’m about to say.
Stats do take emotions into account, which is why it is possible to quantify them. You do not have to really understand them to acknowledge their importance on decision making. 90% of any research work I conduct on behalf of clients is consumer research, which is mainly based on emotions.
A very explicit example:
A chart depicting a typical bubble is a major indication of feelings rather than the economic value of the good in question. It shows the extent of human irrationality. The 2008 housing bubble didn’t happen without human greed even if the banks didn’t take the opportunity to fuck around with the changes in fed regulations.
Now, movies like The Big Short make it seem like everyone other than some “outsiders” in the financial world did not foresee the incoming collapse but they’re just movies. Interpretation of trends like that are ongoing and change a lot as the market changes over the months to years. Most were right in the initial stages in that prices would start soaring. Some were wrong at the later stages. Lots of people in the industry made money selling their assets while it was nearing the peak. Some guys I know even managed to catch the “bounce” and made quite good short term returns lol. Speculators amongst the public were the ones who lost money. That’s the way it has always been.
I remember you bought some crypto? In the crypto world, the moment the MSM starts touting a rise in certain coins, I start taking a little profit if I have them in my stash because that’s the time I expect an incoming correction to happen because of fear of missing out (FOMO). I do the opposite and prepare to gradually add to my stash when the MSM starts spreading fear and doubt (FUD). There’s a reason why there’s the old saying, “buy the rumour, sell the news.”
Of course, this is all extremely simplified but my point is people including highly regarded experts in their fields can throw out a lot of numbers and rationales based on valuations and historical data that do make sense in theory, but when you can see a certain pattern emerge, you realize that these do not make actually apply because they do not take factors like human emotions and market movers (manipulators) into account.
There wouldn’t be as many new crypto millionaires if everyone had listened to Warren Buffet and that high profile gold shill Peter Schiff from the start.

Thanks everybody for the well wishes. I will not tell you my relation to this person other than he is out of my life permanently and I will continue to seek justice for the victims in anyway I can. Unfortunately, most people don’t care.
The person in question is a child rapist and I just found out and flipped my lid. But I also know a lot about him and I know it never stopped until he was too old to molest. So I talked to every attorney, organizations he belonged to, etc. to expose him, because I know, he never stopped.
I know because I witnessed him do some strange things, under the context of a nearly religious devotion to ‘troubled teenagers’. I never witnessed actual crimes, but I saw some inexplicably strange shit that I could never figure out, until now.
That’s the super short version. I will continue to fight to bring that bastard to justice.
I know I’m late to this one, but it seems pretty obvious that this fellow is a simp hoping to show his feminist bona fides in the misguided belief that it will get him some action. Of course, it doesn’t work like that, as many a frustrated incel has discovered.
As far as the world being a better place if women ran it, the only intelligent response to that would be that it depends on which women we’re talking about. There are some female leaders whom I admire very much (Margaret Thatcher, Condoleezza Rice, Sen. Susan Collins), and some who are absolute train wrecks (certain current Vice Presidents come to mind). In others words, just as with male leaders, it depends…
