If aliens arrive here, it means two things: that inter-stellar travel is, in fact, possible and that they’ve accomplished it

It’s totally doable. All we have to do is manipulate the way we travel through time the same way we travel through space. Slow down our progress through time to almost zero, and accelerate at a high rate through space. Then when we arrive at the destination, speed up or rate through time to normal, and viola! appear in a different place.
That will enable us to travel across galaxies-n-shit in literally no time at all.
I still think that this is what that ufo over China was doing. It appeared, changed places several consecutive times, then disappeared. Hell, it could still be there, or has been there for thousands of (our) years, and was just re appearing momentarily in our time to see what we are up to now.
