More Trouble Than I Am Worth: Chaos Is The Plan (T3hPwnisher Log)

Thanks man! The song is where the name of the workout comes from. Its Final Fantasy 6’s “Dancing Mad”, the end boss song when you fight a nihilistic villain who says he will “construct a Monument to Non-Existence”

I really appreciate this comment sir. Having my kids see me as a ‘dad who can’ is the most important thing for me. I’ve talked about this a lot in my log and you know it well. But to have someone as disciplined and hard working with excellent family morals and principles recognise the effort is very humbling. Salute to you sir, strong and dangerous dads for the win.

@simo74 Hell yeah dude! We’re raising the future, and we owe it to them to be the best we can be so they can surpass that. And we start them at SUCH an advantage when we normalize this excellence. Great to count you among the ranks.

I’m in the middle of my night shift with enough caffeine to kill a family of hummingbirds, but before I got here I did a Tabata workout where, on odd minutes I did KB clusters w/24kg bells and evens was double KB snatches. My elbow is getting better and better, and could handle the snatches without too much complaining. I’m excited about coming home, having a great father’s day breakfast, grabbing a nap, taking my kid to a pizza buffet/arcade for lunch, and making some shrimp burgers for myself for dinner. Life is awesome.

I am still checking in daily, but I decided to get a quick post in to let you know you are doing great work and I am very stoked to see how you perform in the contest!

I fell off the train wagon (pun intended) for two weeks because of my last exam, hit it off pretty hard for 3 days (deadlift, muay Thai and upper body) and immediately got ill as hell. I started cutting calories back pretty hard the first day of that (from 4500+ where I was gaining unintentionally, to 3000 kcal a day), so I am not sure if I just got ill, or if my immuno-system decided to shut everything down because I was treating my body like a jackass.

Still, I see your hard work and am eager to get back in. I really hope to drop 30 lbs in a few months while upping top-end strength so I can jump on your 6-month gaining block.

Keep rocking man, and if you have any advice, feel free to chime in on my log when I am up and running again!

Hey man, I know the buffalo bar is more of a shoulder saver, but have you noticed any elbow relief when using it compared to a straight bar? Probably bad timing to ask, with the recent bout of elbow flare up you’re dealing with, haha.

I just finished stockpiling my companies “health rewards” that I use for my annual gym equipment purchase and have been considering picking up a yukon bar from Titan.

@Panopticum Great to hear from you dude! Saw about the illness in your log: you’re in a great spot to come back! Very Nietzschian of you. I’m excited to watch it happen.

@mr.v3lv3t I honestly haven’t squatted heavy with a straight bar in a LONG time: it’s tough for me to say at this point. All my straight bar squatting has been the light work with that Monument workout. Low bar never really bothered my elbow in particular, but it certainly doesn’t help WHEN my elbow hurts.

Got home from my night shift and hit the following before I even walked inside the house

5 minutes of ABCs w/24kg bells (24 total)
10 minutes of as many rounds as possible of

  • 3 barbell clean and push press away w/135lbs
  • 7 burpee chins

I got like 7+ total rounds. Absolutely brutal. Off to the Pizza Buffet!

Fair enough, thanks man! I can get through about one low bar set before my elbow self destructs, so I’ve become a high bar squatter instead.

I might just go ahead and stock up on a whole bunch of KBs instead. Always a tough call haha.

@mr.v3lv3t Yeah, it’s worth considering that I’m a mutant when it comes to joint mobility. My wrist and elbows can bend in ways that are not typical in humans. My Tang Soo Do instructor loves working grappling with me because nothing works the way it’s supposed to, haha.

@tlgains and @heretolog I woulda been a let down to you: I stuck with the salad bar and actually brought my own tuna pack along for some protein. Soon I’ll be out of comp.

PM WORKOUT (1900)

26 ABCs in 5 minutes w/24kg bells (new PR)

Notes:

  • Oh hell yeah! I hit that with 1 hour of sleep over the past 2 days, having gotten in my 5 minutes earlier in the day as well. I appear to operate in reverse of humanity, which makes sense, as I am farm machinery given sentience. I need to get video of these sometime to make it official.

  • Squats on deck for tomorrow.

POST WORKOUT SHAKE

CONDITIONING:

Start with 1 40kg KB swing and 1 burpee chin. Keep adding swings and chins. When you get to 5 chins, start over 1 at, but keep the swing count going up. Finished with 15 swings and matching burpee chins at 11 minutes flat.

LATER

2 mile walk with dog

Notes:

  • I jacked up something in my right trap yesterday which made getting a good position on the squat tough. Between that, the night shift, being up all day, being dehydrated, and smashing a PR on ABCs, I came into this just hurting. Garage is still a jillion degrees as well. 8 reps was enough for Zenos, and with the competition at the end of this week, I didn’t feel a need to push any harder.

  • Very happy with how the EMOM turned out. Getting that final set of 8 on the front squats on the 9th round and sealing things with the 10th round of Stone of Steel was outstanding, and I was floored when it was done.

  • I like that conditioning. Often, the burpee chins can run long and let my heart rate slow down. Keeping those on the short side while letting the swings climb blew me away. But the time this was all done, I had to wring out my shirt and knee sleeves.

  • I’m really focusing on a strong glute/hamstring contraction on the GHRs these days. Seems to help.

  • Have the day off today. Spending time with the Mrs, lunch at Red Lobster, and maybe some lawn mowing.

  • I ordered 2 45lb kettlebells and had them shipped to my parents, so I’ll have something to train when I go visit them. Yup: I’ve become that guy.

@jwlake06 Thanks man! I really seem to be turning a corner on them.

@tlgains I indulged and had about 1/8 of one, haha. They’re way too good still.

@simo74 Thanks dude! Totally tin-manning it this morning, haha.

Got in 25 ABCs in 5 minutes w/24kg bells immediately before mowing the lawn for 50 minutes. I’m digging getting my heart rate into the red zone and then just riding it out. Still hot as hell out. The fact I can just bang out 25s now is pretty nuts.

I am sure you have mentioned it before, but what is the longer term plan or progression with these. I know you say chaos is the plan, so I am expecting you to swap these out for another bad idea at some point.

I feel like you DON’T know though…haha. I am legit chaos here my dude. I have no plan for these. I am doing them until I stop. Tabata front squats were happening every day and one day they didn’t.

This isn’t something I can assign plans, rules, time constraints, restrictions, limitations, plans, progressions, etc, to. I am finding out what is coming on the other side of whatever this is. It’s not something I can plan for. The outcome has ALREADY happened: I’m simply experiencing it’s arrival.

You need to have someone live stream your competition so we can all watch you smash it! I know it’d be long and boring between events, but I’d watch it. Maybe run it on your Only Fans…?

Hah! I’ll get video for sure. Mrs will record something. You’re in for a treat too: she cheers VERY well.

I figured that was going to be the response, LOL. I guess it was a silly question or badly phrased at best.

Knowing how much of a thinker you are when it comes to all things related to getting stronger and better. I just wonder if your mind considers other bad ideas for the future. I am not expecting you to have an exact workout built in advance but in moments of boredom are you scheming something horrible. Maybe this is something only I do and I need to make myself busier.
