Nope. Seriously; why do you bring this up?
It looks better in your videos and I bet it probably adds a bit of motivation to work out in a space that looks that good.
But I didnāt paint the walls. Iāve told you that several times.
It does not add motivation, no.
You the color blind animal. Secret of your strength?
I am not color blind.
Seriously dude, please, out of respect for me, do not insinuate I am a liar here. I did not paint the walls of my garage.
Ok. Ok.
Thank you. I very much appreciate that.
This happens to me everytime I get enough decent fat in my diet. If I try and live off chicken and rice, I practically get a semi walking through the cheese aisle, add some salmon and beef and nuts into the diet and itās much better.
You have better self control that me Pwn. If I had a little taste of that sweet meat first I wouldnāt be able to keep it till last ![]()

Beef keeps me from losing my sanity. Considering majority of the time I eat canned chicken, canned salmon, and canned tuna, it gets to a point where drives me insane a little bit. Now that I think about it, is that where the whole ācheat mealā thing came from? Lifters/Bodybuilders getting sick of their diet?
itsā a planned, controlled, break from the diet so you can put off your cravings all week until your ācheat mealā - if done properly.
How itsā actually done though, is dieting at 500cal daily deficit, then smashing 3000cal surplus on your cheat meal, so you are only in a 500cal deficit by the end of the week. Because bodybuilders are smart.
Always ways to vary things, while keeping it within plan. Even if youāre just going to do chicken and rice, thereās a million different ways to do āchicken/rice/vegā so itās not the same every time.
The thing that blows my mind is how tidy it is, mines a state.
Yup, now he just needs to log in Kg (or at least do 4 plates) so I can truly comprehend how epic this stuff really is!
186kg X 23 is much more impressive than 410lb. X 23 ![]()
Seriously though pwn inspirational as always, definitely helps show alternatives to the mainstream and the moaning, just get to yes!
I work in kg too because that is the plates we have in the gym. But everyone knows that lifting in lbs is both old school and cool, and is the way all the old strong people did it. I wish my gym had plates in lbs.
Take a tube of tippex next time you go and all your dreams can come true.
This made me laugh because no where else in the world calls it Tippex !!
Honestly, if I overhear someone saying āI pulled xx kg the other dayā - I inherently believe they lift more than me. Stateside, most people couldnāt do the basic conversion without google, so if they know their PRās in kg - they are probably well-seasoned powerlifters.
@dagill2 Something to be said about the hormonal balance of fats there as well. I know things were getting gnarly when mine were dropped. I was food obsessed. Now, itās the opposite: I just want it over with, haha.
@simo74 Weight class based sports for a few decades have helped with that self control, haha.
@tlgains Cheat meals can have something of a metabolic reset function to them during periods of deep deficit. Skip Hill has āSkiploadingā which employs this. But otherwise, yeah, itās a way to stay sane. A bodybuilding diet is going to be a drain. You and I have discussed the psychological value of simply knowing one is coming as well.
@alex_uk Tidiness means more room for toys, haha. And it also means being able to bust out my micro workouts on demand vs having to clean for them. And much appreciated for the kudos! That actually IS 4 plates, haha. Itās just a 52lb bar rather than 45. I round it to 50, just to make the math a little easier.
Got in my almost daily now tabata KB front squats this evening. Really digging having these there.
Is there a reason it is 52lb that seem very random ?
Hi,
I have a few training/nutrition questions inspired by your blog. Is it fine if I ask them here?
