I am truely honoured by this my friend. It would be so awesome to travel over there and combine that with lifting, good food and great company. Maybe one day. ![]()
It goes without saying that if you and the family ever chose to visit Melbourne there is always room at the inn for you mate.
@simo74 Absolutely dude! Weāll terrorize both of our respective neighborhoods!
Got in a 1.5 mile walk after lunch and a 3 mile walk with the Mrs later, followed by a really good sparring match with her at TSD.
But the most important thing is I had ribs for lunch AND dinner tonight.

You ever used anything like this loadable āhusacrossā? - Looking to add some variety to my weighted carries and this seems like a good option
No personal experience. I have done bearhug keg carries though. Is a keg an option?
Insofar as Iām able to purchase one, is there one you recommend thatās loadable with plates or some such thing ?
Hmmm⦠or maybe just a sandbag now that I think about it⦠That allows for bear hugging, shoulders, tossing, etcā¦
Sandbag is another great pick. You COULD get a loadable keg, but Iād just get a traditional one and fill it with sand. Much cheaper.
My parents are in town, Iām still living and training well, just not logging as much. Got in an hour walk today where I did a set of 10 prisoner squats every block, came home and knocked out 100 push ups, and got this hellacious workout done earlier today
10 min tabata intervals, doing full ROM swing w/24kg bell during the 20s and burpee chins during the 10s
Iāll check out the options out there, a sandbag seems like the most practical thing for me at the moment, thanks
This would deff be my go to. I have 3 different size bags and a big 110lbs slam ball.
What brand? This one is on my radar but im open to suggestions. I dont mind the longer shape but having a more barrel shaped one I could see having benefits as well.
This one has more of a ball/keg shape
Any recommendations for weight? Im not exactly a hulking behemoth so I dont think I need anything in the 150lb+ category to start with.
Dont mean to hijack your thread @T3hPwnisher , but it seems halfway relevant for anyone looking to add stuff you do to their workout. I can delete it if its too off topic though.
I have 2 that are like that Titan bag (one is Cerberus the other is a no name) and I have one which is an adjustable bag that you just zip tie at the top. Mine are 62kg (135 lbs) 82kg (180 lbs) and 100kg (220 lbs).
150lbs is a good place to start and will be plenty hard enough but still versatile. You could look for one like this which you can start at 150 but add sand to it as you go.

Hope your good mate and it settles down soon.
Iām more than good, and life settling down will be sad. Itās wild for good reasons: lots of family and love in the house.
ah good to hear. Wild can mean many things.
I leave breadcrumbs ![]()
Yes but sometimes the wind blows
I feel like thatās probably the only reason for you to buy bread these days ![]()
Back to normal-ish
@Lonnie123 No hi-jack at all: always a great topic to discuss. Iāll second @simo74 on the style of bag he posted. Just classic. I use the Ironmind one, but theyāre all great products. A good sandbag is an awesome training tool.
@kleinhound Too true! If I want good bread, Iāll make it, haha.

Notes:
-
Dropped my folks off at the airport today, so got in some training first thing and then training after that, went and saw the Mrs for lunch and got in a walk. Also made today a protein sparring modified fasting day too, making it a full reset from this time of eating well (still carnivore, just big) and training lightly. A walk vs intense conditioning was just what the doctor ordered. I had to use the heavier knee sleeves today just to keep things locked down and secured.
-
Iām using the 3-4 Day variant of the program since I lost 2 days of training this week. Happy Jamie has that as an option. Come Monday next week, Iāll be back on track.
-
Had to drop weights in a few spots to compensate for how fast I was moving.
-
Havenāt had a carb up in 2 weeks and itās showing. I am totally flattened out. We MAY have an opportunity to make it happen this week now that schedules arenāt as explosive.
-
Havenāt been doing the best staying on top of my daily push ups and squats. Iām getting in SOME, but not always all.
-
We switched to Tang Soo Do on Tuesdays and Fridays, and last nightās class was a killer workout.
