Blasphemy. That movie kicked ass. Stone Face could have been replaced by someone who looked like Duke, but everything else kicked ass. And I doubt the mech suits will be used in the sequels.

Stormshadow > Snake Eyes.
The only thing stormshadow has going for him is his name.

Take that, Cobra Commandbarret!

blood and bone - waited patiently for it to come from netflix. it was so good i have to buy it now. michael jai white looked amazing and just rocked.

the hammer - adam carolla was funny in this underdog movie. pretty good.
anvil - kind of a roc/doc. i saw this a couple of weeks ago. it was good.

Stormshadow whipped everyone’s ass in that movie, including Snake Eyes.

Stormshadow fought with regular clothing and no armor.

Snake Eyes used a Armored body suit the entire movie and even with that body suit, had a tough time defeating Storm Shadow.

Shadow cut him multiple times and Snake’s armor protected him. Bitch move by Snake.

Storm Shadow…wins!

The thing about Transformers that kinda bugs me, is that some of the action is so fast paced, it’s hard to keep up with.

See, that alone is why I think Blue Ray is making some of these movies better. I didn’t follow much of the action in Wolverine like I could at home. It seemed more fluid. I am sure it will be the same for Transformers as well.

Seeing all of those moving parts on a big screen (especially front row) moving that fast makes my head hurt. I bet high def smooths it out.
I have not seen any of these movies on Blu Ray, I have them on DVD with an HDTV, which doesnt mean shit I know. When stuff is so fast, I can’t make it out very well. My buddy at Sony tells me they are making a 250g PS3 slim, along with TV’s with flexible screens (imagine rolling a 60" TV up like a yoga mat) and still having HD quality. Those are probably years out from now.

The trailer for John Woo’s “Red Cliff” looks pretty cool.

Watched Homeward Bound the other night, one of my favourite childhood movies. Some of the worst acting ever but I still love it.

Watched a documentary about the 2009 British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa. Must have been 6/7 hours of behind the scenes speeches, motivational talks, training and messing about. A good watch but not for those only mildly interested in the sport.

Watching Chasing Amy right now as I haven’t seen it in a while. So much about this movie I like: the story, the acting, the lessons to be learned, the oxymorons and the chemistry on screen between the chracters. As with most Kevin Smith movies, the dialogue is awesome. But in this movie it’s different to the others, still awesome but very… raw.

Huh? The suit was supposed to be armored? Just seemed a little padded to me…
He did get cut, and the cuts showed perfectly as far as I remember. Stormshadow just apparently never got quite close enough/cut deep enough, and never managed to stab him at all.

Stormshadow is too stupid/poor/weak to wear/afford armor… So you consider him the moral winner or what?

A little padded? Storm shadow cut him and no blood spurted out. When Storm Shadow gets hit, it shows with blood. Snake Eyes got cut multiple times at the beginning of that fight and its armor kept him safe.

Snake Eyes was getting his ass beat until he switched to that certain weapon and beat Storm Shadow(Who went out like a fucking man).

Give me Storm Shadow anyday. He uses less high tech weapons and armor but is more effective than you could hope to imagine.
WolBarret wrote:

Same for snake eyes it seems, though with his dark suit it’s hard to tell.
When Storm Shadow gets hit, it shows with blood. possible spoiler alert (like there’s someone alive today and reading this forum who hasn’t seen the movie yet…)

But…

He lost?
I guess his obituary read something like “yeah… But I used less high-tech weapons and armor but I was more effective than you could hope to imagine… Oh, fuck.”

(well, he’s likely going to come back if they make a sequel, but whatever. : I wonder if they’re going the make him join GI Joe at some point/betray cobra to save snake eyes or something like that. And was that military woman who worked with the general and got killed during the raid on the pit supposed to be cover girl? Didn’t catch her character name)
Drag Me to Hell on BlueRay. There is no Bruce Campbell, and not nearly as many one liners as Army of Darkness, but it was classic Sam Raimi. Joe Bob says check it out.

GI Joe- what’s with the bad talk about this movie? I’m halfway through and it’s entertaining.

I grew up in the 80s and loved the cartoon. Granted, I can’t remember much of who is who, so I’m not sure how close they’re sticking to the story line. But it’s decent so far.

And the 2 chicks in this movie, are smokin

Zombie Strippers, on Spike. Incredibly awful/wonderful movie starring Jenna Jamieson as a…zombie stripper. Highlight was the stripper shooting ping pong balls from her vagina at another stripper. Lowlight was that it was on Spike, and so everything was blurred.

There might have been some really bad dialogue, but I wasn’t really paying attention at that point.

God don’t remind me of a stripper shooting anything from her vagina. There’s one in town that shoots quarters.

Law Abiding Citizen was a good movie. Is it just me or are they getting more lax on what they rate movies now a days? Could have been 18A.

Tranformers 2 got me into wanting to see just how bad a movie can be so I watched Plan 9 from outer space. This gem has lines such as “Future events such as these will effect you in the future” not as bad as transofrmers because like whickerman it’s so bad it’s funny, but this by far has the worst script in movie history.

Milk.

I hadn’t had the desire to see it at all, but gave it a shot anyway, and I’m glad I did. Very well done. And though I’m not a Sean Penn fan, he did a brilliant job. The casting was excellent!

I remember Harvey Milk’s rise and murder being in the headlines when I was in high school (1978), but I felt indifferent for many reasons. So, seeing it now was like getting the full picture of that time.

Notorious (by Hitchcock, not about Notorious BIG)
Natural Born Killers
To Catch a Thief
Taxi Driver
Pee Wee’s Big Adventure

Gladiator - my favorite movie of all time, the cast as a whole did a great job. I would love to see some kind of prequel to this movie, but I doubt it would happen. I need to see it on Blu Ray.

Wrong Turn 3- I liked it. Not as good as the 1st, but good
I am beginning to think your taste in movies is questionable. I watched this last night and it is barely rentable…and no, it is nowhere near as good as the first.

 1. This is the second movie I have seen that black guy (who played the cop, the other was Return to House on Haunted Hill) where he is one of the first to die. is there something in this guy’s contract that states he should be killed off before the first hour is up?

 2. Making this about escaped cons was a plus. Making this about escaped cons who apparently can’t kill one awkward ridiculous hill-billy who OFTEN ends up within 2 feet of them, incapable of fighting much and who gets shot but doesn’t even feel them??? Yeah, that was dumb.

I want to see a movie about escaped cons and a whole fucking family of hill-billies as they duke it out to the death.

This was a let down on so many levels. The CGI work was “Spy Kids” level at best with way too much use of a green screen (even when driving which was so noticeable they should have just stopped the vehicle and walked.

No, rent this only if you have 2 hours to kill and nothing else to watch.

Well, I didn’t rent it

and don’t you know the golden rule of horror movies is for the black guy to die first, yeesh.

you’re right no where near as good as the first, but for a horror movie it’s not bad

The Man in the Iron Mask. Haven’t seen this in years and forgot how good it was.

Welcome to the Jungle. Fun with The Rock and Seann William Scott(in the teh non-ghey way). Just a good enjoyable movie.

Working my way through seasons 1-6 of The Wonder Years. Great show.
