Sex Drive - Absolutely ridiculous. Loved it!

A History of Violence - Excellent. The stairway sex scene wasn’t hot like I had heard it was, but maybe I’m just not into that sort of thing.[/quote]
Hahaha, yea. To be honest, I was just confused as hell during that scene.
I agree. I was definitely surprised with how good the movie was after watching.

That was pretty much the reaction of the entire audience back when I saw it. I really don’t think anyone in the theater that night was expecting the movie to be like that.
Doomsday - What a stupid ass movie. It was way over the top, it was cheesy as hell and pretty stupid… That being said, I love it. Ain’t nothin like shooting up post apocalyptic mohawk raiders (Fallout 3 anyone?) while trying to save everybody around you. Lead babe was fairly hot, saw some boobs, good action. Yeah, what can really be said?
Since this is the movie thread, anybody have any suggestions for some other post apocalyptic movies? (fallout 3 style)
The Wind That Shakes the Barley
What a great movie, haven’t seen anything this moving in a long, LONG time.
Slow week for me:
Weeds: Season Four - Was disappointed in this. It just wasn’t as funny or as interesting as the previous seasons.
He’s Just Not That Into You - I just wasn’t that into this movie. Other than Justin Long’s character, the movie was just a standard, bland, run-of-the-mill romantic comedy. Was pretty boring actually. Scarlett Johansson is a frigging tease.
The Hangover - Funny ass movie. Go see it with a group of friends. Even better if you have a few drinks before the movie. !Penis Alert!
Revolutionary Road - Great performances from Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. The conflicts between them were intense as hell. Very emotional. An extremely depressing movie all-around, centered around a relationship falling apart.
The Hangover - Just got back from this. It was decent. Got a few laughs from me. Ran a bit too long for my tastes and started to drag on near the end, though. Saw it with a few friends.
Ace Ventura Pet Detective - Hadn’t seen it in years until sunday night, what an awsome film it is
In the Valley of Elah - good movie with Tommy Lee Jones and Susan Sarandon. The ending kinds sucks but overall not bad.
Couldn’t find this thread before, but as said “The Hangover” equals hilarious
True Blood - season one
I don’t know about anyone else, but this show is just weird enough to keep my attention…plus “Sookie Stackhouse” isn’t too bad to look at either. It is low on “action” but it has a lot of strange occurrences, a few murders, a shit load of vampires, some gore, one shape changer and a town of backwoods southern folk all too “country” to handle all of this shit happening around them.
Saw The Hangover Saturday night. I haven’t laughed that hard in a LONG time.
Watched Land of the Lost this afternoon. Different kind of funny, typical Will Farrell. Decent enough.
The Hangover - saw that over the weekend and it was damn funny.
Orgazmo - Recently bought it and was watching it last night until i feel asleep, funny ass movie.
The Big Lebowski - Also recently bought it, so funny. “this is what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass!!”
the orphanage - pretty sad and creepy. modern gothic. i want to watch it again… but then again, i think once was enough. guillermo del toro is supertalented
Mongol - It was ok. The costumes were the most impressive part. The story just seemed to loop. It was kind of cool to learn a little of the ways of the Mongols though.
American Psycho 2 - I loved the first one, but wtf was this? I watched about 30mins and just skipped through the rest. Typical mindless horror type movie where they just kill over stupid shit and put some dumb ass story in it. This film basically has zero carryover from the first one so I really fail to see why they named it this and not something else as its hardly a sequel.
Hangover last weekend- hilarious. I also saw step bothers last week. Up next is Taken and then Transformers 2 in a couple weeks.
margot at the wedding - why? for some reason i wanted to see this movie. i love jennifer jason leigh so that’s the only reason i watched the whole movie. nicole kidman was a character that was so wrong in everything she did it was aweful to watch. you felt sorry for everyone that had to deal with her, especially her son. they wasted john tuturro in this movie and jack black was doing what he does most of the time. ugh.
multiplicity - it was on cable and i still love this movie. michael keaton is one of the greats.
yes, man - i forgot i saw this last week. it was pretty good; not as bad as i thought it would be.
Rented Gran Torino, made me laugh even harder when I first saw it. Kinda reminds me of my dad, being an original breed of asshole. But sometimes in a good way.
I didnt hear good things about Land of the Lost. I was a fan as a kid, and am kinda disappointed it didnt do well at the box office.
I’m basically counting my movie and tv show watching from May until now…
Ghosts of Girlfriends past, fiance wanted to see it. I enjoy any variation of The Christmas Carol so I liked it.
Terminator:Salvation was just right behind T2 for me in terms of excellence.
Night at the Museum 2 was decent, but not quite on par with the first.
Santas Slay with Bill Goldberg…I don’t know this is one of those movies that purposely doesn’t take itself seriously and I think it worked because of that.
I’ll third the kudos for The Mist, very underrated movie that a lot of people seemed to hate only for the ending, which I thought worked perfectly for the movie.
Rocky Balboa…loved the first five and have seen this one probably three times before. It’s my favorite just right behind the first one.
Caught the tail end of Live Free or Die Hard recently too. I rank it just behind 1,3 although it’s very close to being better than the first in my opinion.
My dad and I usually watch an episode or two of various tv shows I’ve picked up a few times a week. Our current rotation we pick from is Dead Like Me Season 2(Great show), Kolchak The Night Stalker(awesome show if you are a fan of the X-Files or any supernatural type show.), The Night Stalker( not quite as good as X-Files or the original Kolchak, but decent enough.), and Bionic Woman which is better than I expected.
Angels and Demons, Deffinately better than the Da Vinci Code and worth watching.
Gran Torino, Just finished watching it tonight, all I can say is awesome fucking movie Clint did well.
Taken, Loved this one as well, some serious action, Liam Neeson kicked some serious ass.
Valkrie, Was ok, not really my type of movie, Playing Texas Hold’em on my phone seemed more entertaining to me.
Also saw two movies that really aren’t that mainstream, ONe was called the Ramen Girl, and the other was Meet Dave with Eddie Murphy Liked both of them as well.
It’s so nice nice that my mom is a librarian for our public library which is pretty big. She gets first dibs on all the movies and the best part besides them ebing free, is that we can keep them for as long as we want with no late fees.
