Fast and the Furious - I had high hopes for this movie with Vin Diesel being in it, and I was pretty disappointed. Lame story, some good action and driving scenes, but not much else.
It had Paul Walker in it, so the movie was doomed to suck.
Watchmen - I was lost in this movie, I had difficulty following the story. Good movie overall but being clueless didn’t help me at all.
Watchmen gets better the more times you see it. Do you have/rent the DVD copy with the “Ultimate Movie Experience” option? It has incredible commentary and short documentaries that explain a lot.
As for my entertainment experiences of late…
Burn Notice I went to the International Comic Con a couple weeks back and saw a Q&A panel about this show. It seemed like a lot of fun so I picked up seasons 1 and 2 when I got home and was very happy I did. The show is awesome. There’s gunfights, MacGyver inventions on the fly, and great stories and dialogue. Now I’m pissed I pretty much missed half of season 3 already. Since it’s set in Miami, one dream episode would be Michael Westin investigating the disappearance of someone’s family member…who happens to be one of Dexter Morgan’s victims.

Hell yeah Doug, Burn Notice rules. Bruce Cambell is so good in that show, and Miami in HD from those overhead shots is just badass. I just hope Fi eats a sandwich or two at some point, girl is dissapearing.

that damn scene with Butch and Etta on the bike with “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head” playing make me fast forward through that scene. [/quote]
I used to hate that scene also, but I now find it to be pretty cool. If you look at it in comparison to how Sundance first interacts with Etta it really develops the personality differences between him and Butch. Also, before you realize that Butch is riding a bike it looks like he’s just floating which is pretty cool.
The Others - I saw this years back when it first came out but I still think it may be one of the better “ghost story” movies made to this point next to Sixth Sense and “The Orphanage (spanish)”.
Passengers - This is a fucking chick flick disguised as a real suspense movie. It sucks. Do not waste time on this.
Recently saw Funny People and District 9. I expected Funny people to be well, funnier and I thought that it jumped back and forth between drama and comedy too often to find the comedy funny or the drama dramatic but still worth seeing. District 9 I thought was going to be better than it was but was still decent.
I didn’t really end up caring about more than 1 “person” in the film and I don’t believe it was the one I was meant to care about. Very violent gun fights with cool alien guns that turned soldiers into splattered messes.
The knowing - Nic Cage again does some weird things in his way of acting, but I did enjoy the movie. Mainly because it was the first movie I’ve seen on blu-ray that ‘tested’ my new surround sound setup.

I thought he played that part well. I also want to know if we are really at risk of anything like that happening. I gave him hell for Wickerman and Ghost Rider but he deserves props for this one. He wasn’t “over the top” like he has been before.
Obsessed - Beyonce normally is the best looking actress in a movie, but Ali brought it. This is similar to Fatal Attraction and The Hand That Rocks The Cradle. Both of those movies were a little better than this one. It was predictable but still ok with 2 hotties fighting.
Coraline - Again it is a children’s movie but was very good. The best of the three I watched this weekend.
Fool’s Gold - I had little expectations from this movie but it turned out good as well. It was a re-teaming of Kate and Matthew from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. I liked this movie better.
Also, it was pointed out that I am going to look like Matthew if I continue with my diet - good without a shirt on, but with a Medium sized shirt on - “Do you work out?” questions will be asked a lot. lol

LOL, but he did have his one Nic Cage moment when he chased the people away from his house with his revolver. When he wigged out I laughed and thought “THERE’S the Nic Cage we know and love!”
Wanted - good action movie, it kinda reminded me of The Matrix, with it’s slow motion flying TaiKwonese type of shit. Angelina Jolie was nice to look at too. The ending did throw me a little, didn’t expect it. I recommend this movie.

haha yes. The scene I think about was when he chased the dude outside his house with the baseball bat, then drops the torch and hits the tree with the bat and says "That’s what you’re gonna get if you come back!’
As for what X said about if that could happen, I’d believe it. The sun itself is the factor of life on the planet, and it could take it away just as easily as it comes. It will eventually engulf the earth anyway, but thats quite a long time away.
Inglorious Basterds - This is a must see movie. Brad Pitt gives another great performance, along with another great Tarantino story, this is a movie that has your attention until the end. A little bloody at times, but that is nothing new with Tarantino. I highly recommend this movie.
Cat Ballou—Pretty funny at times, especially when the minstrels appear at random intervals. Worth seeing simply for a few shots of Jane Fonda’s ass…it came long before its time.
Pieces-- C grade horrer movie. Next to no plot. Tits and bush everywhere. Some of the worst acting ever. Priceless…I ordered a copy on amazon immediately after viewing it.
