More I learn Less I know

Sen Say - Thanks brother for checking in.
GV - That one doesn’t ring a bell, but I like the quote!

Cardio - Interval for 20 mins.

Squats
WU stuff
135 x 12
185 x 8
205 x 5
230 x 3
265 x 3
300 x 5

Front Squats
Four sets to 185 - played with grips

Leg Press
Six sets up to 6 plates/side - supersetted with calf presses

Squats felt very strong and fast. Worked on depth and did some pause squats. Was suppose to only do 3’s for the working set, but was feeling good so added a couple more on the last set.
Wanted to get some HLR’s in but out of time.
A little frustrating because cardio is eating into my lifting time and saps energy after 90 mins. I know there’s value in it and I’m feeling better from doing it. Finding its a great warm up tool for legs as well.

HAH! ^^That was from a great movie about street gangs, and the skanky dude that said that was also a villain in an Arnold movie where Arnold drops him off a cliff or something. I hated that dude from the roles he played (this is from way back in the day obviously) so lo and behold one day I see this dude is in my karate school! I’m 5’8" and was only around 150 at the time but I think I had a 2-3 inches and about 20-30 lbs on the guy, so every chance I got (not that many unfortunately) I’d give him a little something “extra” during sparring class, within the rules of course. When he went for his black belt promotion I launched him into a pole (padded unfortunately) with a spinning back kick but to his credit the dude bounced back for more -he was a lot like the characters he played, just like most actors I guess. Like most people though he quit as soon as he got his black belt, like that was the end instead of just the beginning. Cool story bro.

PG good job. I never liked that guys characters, and sounds like I wouldn’t get along with him either. And I’m a real easy guy to get along with.

5s week coming up.
Been reflecting a little on my 5 years of logs here and elsewhere, and feeling more confident there are more PRs left in me.
Avoiding injury my biggest concern. Injury wastes too much time.

Deadlifts
Bar x some
135 x 12
185 x 8
225 x 5
255 x 5
295 x 5
335 x 5

SDL’s
135x10x4 sets

GM’s
135x10x4 sets

Ab Roller
10 x 4 sets

Calf work - 4 sets

Notes: Grip was shot today. First time in a long time I really felt it.
Golf over the weekend might have something to do with it.

The boy’s five and I got him some sticks this weekend. We’re probably going to join the GC across the street, unlimited rounds and range balls, etc. He’s pretty stoked about it, although his comment about putting was “Daddy, that ball made me really mad when it wouldn’t go in the hole.”

JK - Thanks for checking in. That sounds like a great plan. Just let him knock the snot out of the ball for a few years, play putting games, and drive the cart with you. Always make it fun. It will be a lifetime gift of enjoyment for him. Anyone that starts playing really young and stays with it turns out to be really, really good later in life. Hardly any exceptions. Guess that’s probably true for anything.
