OK - Interupt over.
New corporate website launched and my 3 day golf tourney is over.
Net even par does not win tournaments. But I had fun and longest drives by far.
Time to get my ass back to work.
What handicap are you playing off these days? Congratulations on the degree!! All the best with the comeback, looks as though you are doing a great job of listening to when it is time to be conservative, and when to push things a bit.
I think I was capped at an 8. Haven’t played more than 5 rounds this year prior to the weekend so very inconsistent, but I love bombing the driver. Always the last to hit into the green. Did I say hit to the green? More like miss the green.
Fighting a flu right now. Seems like one thing after another.
Great to hear from you buddy. Where you keeping a log these days? I need to catch up.

Old Goat - I attempted to share the pain on squats. Damn son! A type of pain I’ve never experienced before. It wasn’t harsh, but kinda gut wrenching. Respect.
I’m not ready to go for barf bag, falling on the floor level pain just yet. Maybe next week. I think I might have 35 in me, but we’ll see.
Talk about a leg pump…wow! Let the healing begin.

I’m not sure what it’s called when you set the safety bars mid-way on bench ROM, set the bar on the safety bar and press from there. I do know its pretty damn hard and probably not wise.
Happy to see 300 again and the dips were feeling good.
Still here. Still 52. Still 195lbs - read your logs on the go.
Picked up a job at Cysco (intentional mispell) last month and I’ve been commuting to SJ weekly. Company has a kickass employee gym for 20 bucks a month, but free with a health plan. I haven’t run into a PL’r yet, but there is plenty of equipment.
Nearly 50K sq feet - 2 floors of an office building along with a pharmacy, couple of full time docs, massage staff and high tech stuff like hydro BF measuring equip. I’m there 4x a week. More if I wasn’t commuting.
Last week highlights: 531/W1
Bench 250 x 8
Squats 245 x 10
Deads 250 x 10
MP’s 150 x 8
If you respond with the company name, please mispell so it doesn’t hit the search engines, or PM me.
I’m still just trying to adjust to it all and get my house ready to sell.
It was touch and go OG. The Man upstairs is good to me. I lost my job while interviewing and fortunatly was hired. The upside is I’ve always admired this company. Moving from Texas to the Bay Area will take some getting use to.
You really, really lucked out with getting a new job. Seriously. I’ve been pounding at it since March and only got a part time gig. It’s just damn near impossible to get anyone to hire. And I shouldn’t have been kicked out of the last place.
A job nowadays is like winning the lottery . . . everyone stares in amazement and wonders how it happened.

I hear ya Cav and believe me, I was on my knees praying and very thankful. Normally I wouldn’t uproot and sell my home, but in this market its a no brainer.
All I can say is, work your network and connect with everyone you’ve ever worked with. There is some spotty hiring going on. Best wishes.
Thanks Joe - Much appreciated. I’m a happy camper. Things could be much much worse.

Got 185 pressed to my forehead and just ran out of gas. I think I would have had it going in fresh. Going to steal my daughters flip video and try to shoot some lifts next week.
Time to fly home for the weekend.

Looking at your numbers, and your avatar, you’re much stronger in upper body than lower. Didn’t want to be nosy, but any special reason?
EDIT; sorry, you just posted on my thread you were out of squatting for 6 months. God, my brain is just fried.
You are definitely right about upper/lower strength. Several reasons and the biggest is sitting on my ass for 25 years. When I lifted as a kid it was all about a strong upper body and running for the lower. Heredity also contributed to a stronger than average upper and bird legs, but more than anything its been the desk job and not doing any serious lifting from the time I was 25 until 47. Too much sitting weakens the core/back, and shortens hip flexors among other things. For the last couple of years since discovering powerlifting, I’ve been on a mission to bring my lower body up. The downside is most of my injuries have been lower body related. Looking forward to some big lower body numbers next year if I can stay healthy.
Think about how many hours desk jockey’s sit on their ass during the day. I’ve ordered a standing desk for my new job.
