More About That Fat Website

Well, I did go over and look at that site. I even tried to register (not anonymously) so I could enter a couple of discussions that I felt a modicum of logic might be in order, but for some weird reason I got a message that basically said that my email address was banned. WTF? How could they have known I was coming? Maybe they are so bent in maintaining their illusions that they pre-emptively strike by banning all email addresses that have the word “fitness” in the name. Very strange to say the least.

Folks, I’ve been on that site for about a year and a half, and I can say that things have gotten a LOT worse lately. Many of the regulars have left. Virtually all discussion has ceased, and almost all that remains is radical posts about how they’re ridiculing those that choose to undergo weight loss surgery or make lifestyle modifications. I’ve pretty much backed off from posting there recently because of the tone and direction that discussions have taken. My main inputs there were to help those who asked for advice on exercise and nutrition (and no, I wasn’t harping about weight loss) and deal with self-esteem and relationship issues.

As for banned e-mail addresses – they’ve essentially blocked a lot of free e-mail servers in an effort to block out trolls (and they do get a lot of them, and are pretty quick about getting them removed). But a lot of long-time posters have been banned as well. One who went by the name Supercollide (and is the wife of a regular here) was recently removed (and I don’t know what for).

NAAFA.org is definitely the antithesis of this site. In fact, in their efforts to control their members, they have a ‘fitness expert’ that disputes any training or diet advice posted. The ‘expert’ is some fat chick that leads a Jazzercize class for fatties, and it’s less rigorous than crossing the street. Jazzercize tried to fire her a couple of years ago, as her tubbiness conveyed a poor image on Jazzercize (if such a thing is possible). She sued them for discrimination, as San Francisco has some wacky law that prevents size discrimination, so they had to keep her. So she basically teaches that weight loss is impossible, as people have genetic and unalterable set points. For a good laugh, check out www.feelinggoodfitness.com.

Here’s a story I posted on a previous thread about a really bitchy fat woman at my office. FYI – her nasty, bitchy attitude is holding her back much more than her size.

You should see this woman eat! She typically eats a couple of donuts and some coffee for breakfast, a bag of chips and a Coke around 10 AM, McDonald’s for lunch, a bag of buttery popcorn and Coke for a mid-day snack, and take-out pizza, cheese sticks or wings, and Coke for dinner. And she wonders why her ass is as wide as most doorways! Then she bitches if she actually has to walk somewhere. She’s that woman we’ve all seen in the grocery store parking lot waiting five minutes for a car to pull out of a spot three spots closer to the store than the next open spot. Then, needless to say, she loads up on chips, low-fat cookies (which they eat by the container – can’t hurt, as they are fat-free! LOL) and Diet Coke (which apparently is believed by some to magically negate the sugar and fat in the donuts). Then she bitches about their genetics!!! LOL.

The other day, a group of us were unfortunate enough to find ourselves walking up a staircase behind her. Not only did she fucking reek, she could barely get her fat ass up the stairs. She even had difficulty lifting her fat fucking feet up to the next step! We were afraid that she would miss a step, slip, and roll down the stairs, taking us out like so many unfortunate bowling pins! We all tried to move over to safety (no getting around this wide-load), but, somehow, she made it up, although she was beet-red and sucking wind like a Hoover!

Jennifer Portnick’s case against Jazzercise was one of the catalysts for the SF law, not a result of the law, as I understand it. And in reality, I can support that case – she could physically do the job, her classes were popular, and there was no official Jazzercise policy that she was breaking. But I can also see Jazzercise’s point that they are trying to market themselves to a weight-loss public, and having an instructor who appears to not have the results they are looking for would be a bad marketing strategy.

I DO agree with NAAFA’s goal of eliminating discrimination based on weight (or size, as a lot of people state). There ARE certain occupations where a larger person will not be able to do the job, but as long as some one CAN do the job, then there is no reason to disallow them (firefighting comes to mind), as long as performance criteria are applied to EVERY ONE.

Some of the NAAFA policies I CANNOT get behind, mainly because they are painted with a very wide brush. Even though they claim that dieting is 95% ineffective (which is generally true when viewed over a 5 year follow-up), they paint ALL diets that way. Same thing with supplements. They are fighting misinformation and discrimination, yet do the same things.

There is a dangerous aspect to NAAFA that could impact ALL of us. These people are trying to pass anti-discrimination laws all across the nation that will impact the rights of the rest of us.

Now, I’m all in favor of accepting people for who they are, but these people want special legal protections. For example, if you had a business, and wished to hire some fine, hot, big-tittie young hottie as your receptionist, and some 400 lb mumu-wearing behemoth wanders in to apply for the job and she happens to type slightly faster than the hottie, you’ll HAVE to hire the fattie. Then, when she’s out sick all the time (and running up your health insurance premium) and is bitchy to your clients when she does show up, you won’t be able to fire her, as she’ll scream discrimination.

Or, what if you have a gym, and some fat-ass chick (like that Jennifer Porky-chick fattie in SF), applies and happens to be the “best qualified”… at least on paper. Well, you’ll have to hire her, and your gym will look like a fucking joke.

Does this sound far-fetched? Well, it’s reality right now in San Francisco and a couple of other municipalities. Don’t we have rights anymore? What the fuck is with government abuse of power?

I thought it was so sad to see pictures of kids attending their events. Could you imagine taking a kid to a “Joe Camel is A. OK!” rally or a “If drinking and driving were bad, why do bars have parking lots?” celebration, or a “Breast cancer happens, so screw mamograms” walk? Yet we allow these kids to go learn that being obese, yes that thing that leads to heart disease (#1 killer in America), diabetes, and about a zillion other problems, is not just okay, but actually a good thing. We are allowing them to learn that being fat should be celebrated!?!?!? We’re telling them that the world shouldn’t condone obesity and that they should just blame it on EVERYONE ELSE!?!?!

Could you imagine what one of those fat cows would do if someone suggested teaching kids that alcoholism happens to people because of bad genetics, so hell, why fight it?!?!? The hypocricy oozes out of it like the lard out of an overcooked butterburger. It’s sad, sick, and should be stopped.

You want to be a fat ass, be a fat ass, but don’t tell your kids it’s a good thing.

I don’t friggin’ get it! Screw genetics, there’s only two things that determine your size: diet and excercise. Want to change your body? Learn about and use diet and excercise to your benefit. Very simple. Reminds me of Chris Shugart’s “Merry Christmas Bob” Atomic Dog. Lets use lazy fatties as motivation.

Well, it gets worse. Check out how deluded these NAAFA people are:

I work the drive through window at a Wendys and today one of our regular customers came through. She ordered a double combo with a diet coke and biggie sized it.

When she got to the window to pay for her order, she told me that she was trying to diet but only lasted 2 weeks but she said that she was motivated to try by watching ME for the past 2 years.

Now this woman was about 5,8 and couldn’t have weighted more then 130lbs soaking wet so in the little time I had, I bluntly told her that she didn’t need to be on any kind of diet. She thanked me for being so “kind” but I doubt that she believed my assessment. Though she was the only one who blurted out that she was dieting, I can tell from what some of the other women are ordering that they are likely on diets to and many of them don’t look like they are anywhere close to being fat. However, they might be in the future if they go on a series of unnecessary diets.

Dieting makes people fat? Wow! How warped is that?

You all HAVE to check this out:

http://ladybwear.com/Competition/bbwcomp.asp#

Fuck you! Fuck you all! If it’s war you want, you fucking got it! I will personally smash down the down of every fucking one of your houses and crush you beneath my monstrous, sweaty buttockses!

Yes, between my fat, fleshy buttockses! And what’s your beef with fat lezboes, you sixpack-wearing, bodybuilding contest-entering, carbo-restricting, hot-pink-thong-on-stage-wearing, body-shaving, cottage-cheese-eating healthy motherfucker! I won’t even let a bitch sit on my face unless she weighs at least 350, and DOESN’T DEADLIFT! That’s right, you protein-drink-mixing, crypto-homo-erotic, closet-Joe-Weider-fan health nuts! I have sex with women who don’t deadlift, AND I LIKE IT! What do you say to that, tuna eaters?

The war has already begun. I saw Jeff Rage on the street one day and I attacked him, and then he just disappeared! I found out a week later that the poor little guy hid himself inside my navel, and got lost in there.

We broke into Lonnie Lowery’s house and smeared chocolate sauce all over his sexy chrome dome and proceeded to eat it off, but we got carried away and accidentally decapitated the sexy professor! That’s too bad, because we wanted to keep him alive long enough to be our love slave and crush his masculine face and talented tongue beneath our sweaty quivering thighs and buttockses.

Damn, thinking about this is making me horny. I’m gonna go masturbate now, as soon as I can find my genitals beneath these rolls of fat.

The fat war against T-Mag is on! Bring it on, bitches!

hahahahahaha!!!

LOL. That was hilarious.

Here’s a good one from NAAFA:

My husband and I tried anal sex the other day but he could not reach me because he is small. Can anybody suggest anything to solve this problem? thanks in advance for your help.

Here’s some great shit from Jennifer Porker, that fat Jazzercise bitch that had to sue Jazzercise to force them to keep her on, although they had no desire to have a fat cow sullying their already poor name. (www.feelinggoodfitness.com/Philosophy.htm) She should write some articles for T-mag! Hahaha! LOL!

I never recommend dieting or losing weight as a way to become healthy. Instead, I believe in focusing on doing the things, like getting regular aerobic exercise, that will make us as healthy as possible regardless of our size.

Occasionally I am asked, why don’t you help people to lose weight? What is wrong with trying to drop a few pounds, as over half of the American population is trying to do right now? The problem is, weight loss attempts for the vast majority of people are counterproductive, and they can be harmful. According to the National Institute of Health, 90-95% of diets fail over a three year period, and 80% of people who lose weight gain back all they lost and more. Could this be a contributing factor to the increase in body size in America today? You bet it is.

Dieting leads not only to future weight gain but to feelings of hopelessness and powerlessness as we try to ignore our body’s pleas for fuel. When we diet, we often feel that, if we allow ourselves to eat whatever we want when we want, we will never stop eating. Not true! It may take some time after the end of a diet, but if we tune into our bodies’ signals eventually we will discover that we don’t NEED to diet to limit our intake, our bodies will do this for us if we only give them the opportunity.

I am looking forward to the day when all the energy and money we now expend trying to lose weight is invested in ways which will bring a positive return, not only for ourselves but for the people we know, and the rest of the world.

Jennifer Portnick

I wonder what the failure/success statistics are for low-carb diets?

Char,

I’m not too sure, but I do know that it’s disturbing that these ‘fat rights activists’ tell their fellow fat people that no diets work, and that they should give up, accept being fat, and die young and disabled.

Char, on average the low carb diets are just as bad as any other diet.

The research on the diets also shows those who are successful ate lower fat moderate carb intakes.

But anyhoos

Fat rights, it all seems relatively fair. You shouldnt beable to discriminate against them for being fat. But the main problem is, their being fat means that you are paying more for health care (insurance etc).
We cant tax fatties, because thats discrimination (supposedly), so certain places try to come up with taxing fast foods and shit, which wont work either.
Fatties are costing YOU (and me) money.
Even looking at readers mail this week shows that money is being spent to equip hospitals so they can handle massively obese people. Wasting money that could be spent on better things. Fatties can also claim for surgery under insurance for stomach stapling etc, which will raise insurance premiums for everyone.
And this will only get worse as the population as a whole increases in bodyweight.

I myself am fat right now, but unlike those people, I’m doing something about it. I don’t blame genetics, either. Yeah, my genetics probably suck and predispose me to gaining weight, but on the bright side, I also gain muscle pretty easily. Thib thought his genes sucked too until he became a Beast. So I use him as an example.

As for discriminating against fat people, I don’t believe anybody should be “made fun” of for any condition. But from a legal standpoint, being fat is something you can change. A black person can never become another race, but a fat person can lose weight (despite NAAFA’s arguments to the contrary). These people also take a black and white view of the world - you’re either severely obese (like some of the pictures) or super model skinny. Look, most people with busy lives are going to have a bit of a “gut;” no one discriminates for that. But a woman around 5’5" who weighs 300 lbs.? C’mon, that’s a problem.

I also don’t know how they came up with the fact that Southwest Airlines discriminated against the fat guy who needed two seats to fit in the airplane. He needed two seats, so they charged him for two seats.

Finally, I am amused about how they want the FTC to shut down “false advertising” from the diet industry. If that’s the case, then NAAFA should be shut down, too, because their claims that obesity does not cause health problems is unsupported.

NAAFA’S OFFICIAL POSITION:

Since reducing diets rarely achieve permanent weight loss and can result in negative health consequences, since laws and regulations protecting the consumer are nonexistent or remain unenforced, and since people undertaking diets are rarely given sufficient information to allow them to give true informed consent, the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance strongly discourages participation in
weight-reduction dieting. Further, NAAFA strongly condemns any diet marketing strategy based on guilt and fear. Such approaches cause untold suffering to fat people by ruining their self-esteem and by perpetuating negative stereotypes. NAAFA demands that local, state, and federal governments regulate the diet industry to protect the consumer from misleading claims regarding safety and long-term effectiveness.
