Just did 30 minutes elliptical (wife is at work). I’ll admit I had to do the old person thing a few times, and hold onto the sides.
I had a botched knee surgery about 18 years ago. Now the knee cap grinds a little on the surrounding bones. Doesn’t get bad except during the lovely Minnesota winters (god that makes me sound old, lol). Monday also I was having my stance coached. I think the super wide stance is a little hard for me because at that point I lose some stability with the bumb knee. I am going to do some stance experimenting tomorrow on DE day, see what I can come up with. Problem is I am 8 weeks out and I need to get used to the gear, and if I can’t squat in it, we have a problem. I can always take a token and just do the push/pull part, if it comes to that, but I don’t want it to come to that.
Bum knees suck balls. But I’m bettin you get it figured out before the meet.

Brought an old friend and his buddy with me today, and put them through some benching. He is genetically gifted but with horrible form. Got him in my loose bench shirt for shits and giggles. Here is what I did:
DE Bench 225 + dlbd minis 8 x 3
Close grip to 3 board against dbld minis 225 x 5, 275 x 5, 315 x 5
dumbell incline 100s x 10, 120s x 10, x 10 (up 5lbs from last week)
Rolling tris 100s + mini x 10, 110s + mini x 10, 120s + mini x 8, weight PR
rope downs/extensions 3 x 15-20 each
EZ bar lateral 5 x 10-15

Try using a boatload of fish oil (15-20grms) and MSM (4000mg and up) it seems this combo works well for tendon/ligament isssues with clients of mine. You massage the back of your knee (upper calf/lower hamstring) if not alot of times it is caused by tight calf muscles (overworked). Hope this helps.

Box squat, higher box (about 14 inches) 8 x 2 w/315 and green bands. doubled over the bands on the dumbells so there was a lot more tension through out the movement. Didn’t hurt too bad squatting to the box. I was ultra paranoid at first. Knee still sore as hell, but this movement didn’t seem to bother.
Sumo dl 155 x 5, 245 x 5, 335 x 5 I hate sumo pulling
GMs 135 x 10, 225 x 10, 315 x 6, x 10
weighted back extension 5 x 10-15
ab wheel 5 x 10-15
split squat 1 x 15, these hurt too much
Also shoveled snow for an hour before going to the gym. I am so tight today it is just plain silly. Foam rolled everything before and after session, body all around still feels like shit. I am upping the fish oil, and for today and tomorrow the calories:) Merry Xmas all.
