Molyneux on Incels

I doubt you’re that picky.

I think you’re paranoid about privacy because you know that you lob giant shit grenades into conversations.

I mean, you Do know that your opinions are At Best unpalatable, don’t you?

I don’t think you know what interpretation means. At least, that’s how I interpret things.

hahaha, obviously. especially considering the current climate.

ever try to watch some new tv shows lately? Or turn on the tv at all? It’s all social justice, inclusivity, toxic masculinity all the time.

or at least it seems like that, no? I don’t know how it is in middle America, but anything to do with the coastal regions, anything to do with mainstream tv is one big virtue signaling fuck fest of annoyance.

so what happens? Push backs. You get these crazy youtube personalities that may be somewhat deranged, but they attract people all thinking “wtf is going on here? What’s this all about” and so they get pulled in by others that see what they see… only that some of them lead into darker areas, and that is a problem. But at least you can understand how some people start on that path

But he’s stated over and over again that the discussion he wanted to have was about the information offered in THAT video. I think it’s fair - and a number of us did so, including me - to note that the source is repugnant and so of questionable trustworthiness, but to operate on the premise that BH KNEW and therefore APPROVES racist or antisemitic views despite his clear statement that he did not know and does not approve is unfair, particularly given the balancing information we have about him, which includes that he is Jewish and that he seems to be joyously married and devoted to his mother and supportive inlaws.

I disagree. If I have no interest in cardio work and am only interested in discussing powerlifting improvements, you will lose me entirely with endless drivel about conditioning, regardless of whether you believe they should come in a package deal. Maybe help me with my lifts, and I’ll be more open to your suggestions about diet and cardio.

Again, from my perspective, in a discussion with a well-meaning other, you explain this position respectfully. The goal being to win minds, not arguments.

I can do this all day baby

I don’t get the analogy. I see it more like, you know someone who gives very good advice about weight training but also adds in racist comments. Sure, you may agree with 90% of what he says but are you going to tolerate him in spite of the 10% that you find repugnant? Or better still, would you give him a public forum to talk about weight training knowing that there will be some racism included? You wouldn’t think that maybe you would be seen as agreeing with him, in total?

I’m not surprised.

Why so jaded?

what’s your point here? That fox, the only real conservative news channel sandwiched between all of liberal television, has a higher audience share compared to the other 2?

and before you start with me, I don’t watch fox. I try not to watch any of the channels, but if I happen to turn one on it’s CNN.

I almost spit out my coffee

A random guy spewing racism in the gym is not the same as someone who has said something along the lines of: “Say, what do you think about The Bell Curve? Some folks say it’s racist, but I felt they raised a lot of good points.”

The former I would avoid, the latter I would engage, particularly if I know him to be invested in fine-tuning his world view, as BH is.

As @SkyzykS points out, examining views is exactly the process that produces growth.

I don’t think some of those posters raised good points and they weren’t interested in debate. They just wanted to spew their nonsense.

It means that the media is not one-sided, though both sides are occasionally dishonest.

Hollywood has always leaned left. Like CNN, which I don’t even watch, you can always choose to turn your TV off.

As for people being pushed to watching YouTube bums and getting radicalized, THIS is what you call a “cop out”.

INCELS are people with real and extreme social and emotional problems. The reason why you don’t want to normalize the word is because people with less severe, but still life-affecting problems will begin to think they are the same.

If NORMAL people are are getting pissed off by TV shows and “pushing back” by getting radicalized, they have no excuse to not own their own actions.
