Modern Monetary Theory: A Primer

I’d be interested the definition of that.

But isn’t it simply a state in the United States that is not a right-to-work state?
Most all unions favor anti right-to-work laws.

Benefits of being in charge and likely there first.

I have stated (I think in this thread even) that hard sciences, engineering, tech, medical stuff like that I would much rather see our country subsidizes students studying these majors than sending money outside our borders. All liberal arts type majors (history, gender studies, religion etc…) get paid for out of pocket by the student. Oh and if you are subsidized and you flunk out you owe back the money.

I would fund only these type of majors because they are the ones that can bring the US back into the top ten in math and science where all innovation is made.

Also, skilled trades should be subsidized because modern world needs many more skilled machinists, welders, plumbers, etc….

Shitty benefits and pay > no benefits and no pay sucking off the government tit. Have to start somewhere.

Thats part of it. Some people just don’t want anybody telling them what to do, no matter the total wage package. Some do better on their own.

Some people got to watch their parents die, broken and pennyless after working their whole lives for a pension that wasn’t protected by the people who promised that it would be there for them when they needed it.

If you get 100 people who don’t like unions, you’ll get 100 different reasons why.

Ahhh…no Scott was there years before this D-bag. As if being a manager makes it okay.

If the pay wasn’t so shitty maybe sucking off the government teat wouldn’t look so appealing.

All for more profits. Great system we have here. Sell out the workers pension so the upper class can make more money while simultaneously destroying the lives of those who made it happen.

Is it any wonder why people say fuck jobs? I did and it’s been great so far.

The typical work paradigm is and has been broken for a long time, I’ll give you that. Not everybody is cut out for a typical business model either though.

I’ve just never fit in to a normal work environment. Some people do, some don’t. I’m high strung, agressive, and don’t play well with others. That doesn’t bode well for anybody who has to fit in to a normal environment, and it goes really bad for anybody who tries to force it.

I mean, At one place I threatened a guy with rape in my first 10 seconds as part of a new division I was sent to after some previous incidents in another one, and he had every reason in the world to believe I wasn’t joking.

That kind of stuff is on me though. Not any employers.

Its good you found something though. Money, or lack thereof- is a fact of life.

Like I said many posts back- the stuff we saw as kids, that broad and deep devastation- leaves marks.

If the candidate had any real skills the pay wouldn’t be shittier than welfare.

Never said it wasn’t a shit situation.

But life is just a series of shit situations interrupted by brief periods of cleansing rains and even briefer rainbow appearances. Then the cycle repeats.

If it were any other time in history, you’d starve.

He’d have starved long ago. Hell, he’d probably have been culled if born into some societies.

Let’s be honest: If the guy was there years before the manager, it’s likely he’s shit instead of the situation. Also: @castoli711, I’m 99.9% sure this “friend” of yours is making up the story. If anything, this loser fapped to the manager’s wife before they met.

Social and emotional intelligence / common sense are real things and some people don’t have any of either.

Based on current events, it seems very possible to be the case again.

It sure has and worker co-ops offer an alternative OR find something to do for yourself, like I did.

Or if the employer offered a decent wage. But that would mean less profit so…

No, it’s more like a shit system. It can be better.

Because I couldn’t trade currencies? Do you think that is the only thing to do that doesn’t require one to have a boss? And I’ve done various different forms of labor.

I knew the people involved, except for the manager. I met him 3 times but knew his wife quite well. If he was so shit why was he there for 6-7 years? Why didn’t they get rid of him before?

If you are a skilled worker the pay is good. I have never been offered terrible wages since getting an education.

There are a bunch of skilled trades positions sorely needed in the US right now. It takes less than 2 years at a trade school to learn most of these and that school is paid for by the government. Work to improve your situation or shut the fuck up.

No the manager was a shit human with a jealousy problem…
