Over 552,800 people were experiencing homelessness
In the richest country in the world. Terribly embarrassing!
Real time and real life for some people. All brought to you by the wonderful world of capitalism.

Would you rather they be institutionalized? Just lock them up so no one has to see them, I suppose?
Curious if you even really understand the statistics in that misleading and disingenuous article…I read the whole thing and the only 2 factors I agree with that significantly drive homelessness are addiction and mental illness … while the other factors are issues, they don’t necessarily drive homelessness, and if they did, the homeless numbers used in the article (which are accurate to the best of my google-fu) would be significantly higher by a magnitude of about 100, so we’d have about 50,000,000 homeless as opposed to 553,000 if the other factors were significant drivers…
Please tell us all the people you help on disability while trading currencies.
Oh, they will have to work. You obviously know very little about trusts and stipulations that can be set on them. There will be no free ride.
I am a minority in case you forgot. I am a card holding Native American. So, try again with that bullshit.
Despair is a choice. Any action you take is a choice. Stop blaming everyone but the person making the choice. That is pathetic and weak and explains why you are terribly unsuccessful in life.
@castoli711
Most people can get quite far by “pulling up by the bootstraps” - this doesn’t work in all cases but most give up when shit gets just a little bit hard. Most people who are addicted to these hard drugs made the choice and had significant means to purchase it the first time (what happened after is a result of that poor choice followed by making the same poor choice repeatedly).
You don’t get to check out when things a get a little tough. If you need an escape from life’s stressors try exercise, or meditation, or religion - all of that shit is free and scientifically proven to help relieve stress and improve mental outlook.
These folks walked - the vast majority of people can do that.
Life is suffering…get used to it, get over it, or find a way to escape it (even if just in one’s head).
And what have the sanctions done to accelerate this process, if not cause it?
Some people have and it’s called taking drugs. With the OD problem brought on by Oxycotin it goes to show that a lot of people can’t handle it. Should this just be ignored or is there something that can be done about it?
Nothing dumbass - it’s a problem caused by the actions of Venezuela itself…you claim this but provide no proof.
This is a poor escape choice compared to others i listed that you conveniently ignored. Individuals are responsible for their choices, no one else. How about don’t take narcotics/opiates if you know you have a tendency to not be able to control it?
from the article:
“The US sanctions likely contributed to the decline of the Venezuelan economy, mainly by further limiting its revenue from crude oil exports,” the report said.
“Likely” is not a word that indicates causation.
Also from your linked click bait article:
But the report did not quantify a figure and noted that there were plenty of other factors behind Venezuela’s economic collapse, including mismanagement by the government.
Maduro was running the country into the ground long before the sanctions got put into place. Again - 5.4 million refugees out of Venezuela since 2014 - you don’t leave your country if it is in a good place…
90% by choice…ass clown
This tends to be a consequence of all sanctions. What do you believe is the purpose of sanctions? And you provide no evidence to the contrary.
From the article - to put pressure on Maduro to treat his citizens better and alleviate the humanitarian crisis - believe it or not the US is actually trying to help…
Bwahahaha…
And what are the majority of choices made of?
From my life - sound logical decisions for the most part.
I can’t speak for others.
Echoing @Bauber
My success is a direct product of the decisions and choice I have made. Less intelligent people will make worse choices.
Life is hard, it’s harder when you’re stupid.
You have the attention span of a squirrel.

Homeless per 10k:
UK 54.4
Australia 49.1
France 45
Sweden 34
Germany 31.4
Austria 25.4
China 18
Netherlands 18
USA 17.6
What does this even mean?
That is degrading to squirrels.
