California?
He doesn’t understand them but, rest assured, finding something he doesn’t understand is like finding a star in the sky.
Pesky statistics getting in the way again.
Maybe not but when the U.,S. is helping destroy your country, then maybe you do.
The U.S. was instrumental in helping to keep Venezuela from selling their main export(oil) on the market.
Yeah and maybe the government mismanaged their economy by relying too heavily on oil exports. Is that a reason for U.S. sanctions? No but trying to introduce a puppet government(Juan Guaido)that is more friendly to U.S. oil corporations is. Living, breathing walrus John Bolton even said so.
Capitalism getting in the way.
A state run by corporate politicians.
Aren’t most of those countries economic systems capitalism?
Maybe not but you try to.
And for those who would rather read. Dig in…
Clearly you didn’t comprehend the article. You think a few oil exports will solve the humanitarian crisis there? That’s naïve. You believe that the citizens are fleeing to the US because the US is oppressive to the Venezuelan people. More naïveté.
Hey look, another website dedicated to an unfounded theory. Lump this one in with the flat earthers and moon landing conspiracy sites.
MMT seems to focus entirely on the way governments deal with money. Obviously, a country is not going “broke” in the same way its citizens can. And, of course, a government can print a bajillion units of currency.
But none of that stops inflation/devaluation of the currency; which means that governments CAN make a gallon of milk cost a billion dollars, but CANNOT put everyone into a $250,000(today’s value) house.
Why do the systems you champion have higher rates of homelessness?
If we weren’t capitalist, would you be okay with higher rates of homeless per capita?
Please provide an example of this assbaggery.
Hope you traded a lot of currency this week, so maybe you can afford to help 1 person this year besides yourself.
Venezuela was fucked long before this.
It was headed towards failure regardless what the US did.
You are clueless and try to shoehorn or explain away the overt failures of the loser system(s) you love.
It is obvious you hate success and anyone that actually achieves above mediocrity in life. I know it is tough seeing people leagues more successful than you that you deem evil dumb rubes. Must be a hard life to live.
Of all possible countries to try and put on a pedestal, why he chooses this one is beyond me.
The word theory in the name of the economic school of thought was given to this study by someone who read their blog. Like I’ve said before numerous times, jerkoff!
But you think it has to do with their economic model. If this is true, why not lift the sanctions and let them implode? Can’t do that, as others may see their is another way to organize a society, rather than let a few take everything. But hey, you just keep being a good little soldier. They have you right where they want you-under control.
I never put it on a pedestal. Just pointing out things that are not often told by the mainstream media. But you keep being indoctrinated by them and base your arguments off what they tell you.
Really, then why did the U.S. impose sanctions?
Examples?
You have to try and pretend that no one has faced more difficult issues than you. So you deny that others are not kept out of the system on purpose(redlining). And if government tries to step in to right the wrong, then you cry like a toddler. And these government actions are brought on by the very people affected by them or others who are truly empathetic. You’ll cry government interference w/o realizing it is the politicians fucking shit up at the behest of their capitalist overlords. So you can say see, see government doesn’t work. Just someone who doesn’t even realize he is lost in the web of indoctrination they spun for you. Then you shout, look at me I did it with hard work, assuming no one else is being systematically shut out. So again, how much did you pay for your indoctrination?
But economists and politicians claim this all the time. Look at the man made crisis called the debt ceiling or how they talk about the SS Trust fund. But they don’t tell you there is no trust fund. It is just a spreadsheet. Can’t tell the truth because they need an argument to fall back on.
And where was inflation before the pandemic?
