MNF 10/23/06

Couldn’t agree more.

Kornheiser needs to stick with PTI only.

Kind of makes you want to run on the field and start a fight with someone, huh?

Doh!

I always enjoy seeing the Giants win (as long as they’re not playing the Bengals)…

It’s too bad Bledsoe got taken out of the game, now i’m going to have to start Brunnel in my fantasy league. Other than that, I couldn’t care less about the Cowboys.

But i’ll have to agree with most other people here, I love watching Hodgie and Jaws break down the films. Sure, the show isn’t flashy like NFL Primetime or anything, but they’re funny - and most importantly they know their stuff and are awesome at what they do.

Also, I like Kornheiser and Tirico, but I think Tirico is better at Golf and Basketball than MNF as Kornheiser is at PTI and writing sports columns. Mike Patrick was awesome on MNF, but I believe it was his decision to move on from MNF, not ESPN’s.

Mike Patrick, Larry Czonka and John Madden. I’d enjoy that three.

Regardless of how the game turned out (GO BIG BLUE!), Theisman is just useless.

I, for one, don’t need to be told that the key to avoiding sacks is blocking the rusher. Gee, thanks Joe. Here, I thought the key to avoiding sacks was saying your prayers and eating your vitamins, but you do have a point about not totally booting your assignment.

I wouldn’t have realized that providing the OLB with an unimpeded run at the quarterback was the wrong thing to do unless good ol’ Joe learned it to me!

And, hey, Kornheiser: we get the “Dance with the Devil” analogy. No need to go over it fourteen fucking times.

And ESPN: I do not now, nor do I ever, need to hear what Hank Williams, Jr. thinks about anything. Nor do I need to hear about how rough the training for “Dancing With the Stars” is. I would, however, like to WATCH THE FUCKING GAME!!!

Remember the game? It’s the thing in between the 2.5 hours of commercials you show.

That was completely uncalled for. A stupid and lame analogy. That guy is a POS and should be repremanded for what he’s preaching.

Theisman is the worst thing about it. Tirico will adjust, but Kornheiser is the color. Theisman is supposed to be the expertise.

If the expertise doesn’t have a sense of humor and can’t play off the color, the chemistry of the broadcasting team is ruined. Even when Kornheiser tries to get Theisman involved, Theisman never really directly responds to him. I think Kornheiser would be good if he didn’t have to carry Theisman.

All Theisman does, essentially, is spew stupid shit even people who’ve been watching football for 5 minutes know, and disrupt the flow of the broadcast.

I thought it was a great game.

I also appreciate the fact that Parcells has dropped the Billy Idol look

Dierdorf, Michaels and Gifford were the best ever MNF lineup

Actually, I agreed with the analogy: history has proven that, while TO will do some good in the short run, in the long run it’s not going o end up well.

I just didn’t need to hear it every time they showed TO, which was every 14 FUCKING SECONDS!!!

I agree. I like Kornheiser. And it’s true: he does try to get Theismann involved by asking him questions that would call upon his experiences in the game, but everytime he tries to make it humorous, Theismann just shuts down. He’s terrible. I don’t know if Tirico and Kornheiser can stand alone, though. ESPN has something bad on their hands.

[/quote]i second that

Anyone else surprised with Romo? I mean ye, he threw some interceptions, but he looked like with some experience he could be a beast. That dropped 4th down T.O. pass made me think Palmer lol.

Well experience would show that Joey T. knew little on how to avoid a sack.

But listening to you guys makes me very happy that I don’t have cable TV or dish or any other way of seeing such a fine program.

LET’S GO ROMO!!! I think Parcells should leave him in every time they play Big Blue.

And the broadcast was horrific, with Emmit Smith talking for twenty fucking minutes while the game was on…show football! Not these damn celebrities making half hour cameos.

GO GIANTS!

He was going good until TO dropped that ball, which totally knocked him off his game. I wanted the Giants to win, but I actually would’ve liked to have seen how he would do had TO not accidentally ruined any confidence he might have, which wasn’t much coming in the middle of a game with a quarterback controversy and pressure on him facing the division leader.

Drew Bledsoe is a good quarterback. Anyone that says otherwise is wrong. He’s a pocket passer with a shitty line. If Peyton Manning had a horrible line he’d be torn to pieces too. I blame the inability of Bill Parcells and Jerry Jones to solidify the line in the off-season as the reason why this season will end up a failure for the Cowboys.

You’d think people would have learned by now. After seeing Houston the last few years, with a good quarterback who gets destroyed every other play, and this Bears defense, with the Philadelphia defense a few years ago both dominating because of pressure given by the front four, every coach should have a little post-it on his desk saying: It’s the line, stupid.
