I got the reference too, but I didn’t think that made me old til you said something. Now I’m questioning it.

Edit: Looks like I’m not only old, but posting as my man today. oops.

you, molly and i are the same age… bobbi might be the old one…

teehee

I did very youthful, crazy things last night and don’t feel old anymore

haha that is so funny that you called me that…

OK OK OK … so I guess that’s all Bobbi is gonna share with us… (dangit!) MOVING ON…

So I go see Mike Robertson on Saturday and because I am leaving town Friday, my week is incredibly busy… so I figured I would do 2-3 easy breezy full body training sessions this week just to get some movement in. I have several massages scheduled… 1.5 hours last Thursday, 1 hour tonight, and have a 2-2.5 hour one on Friday before I leave… I figure this week is all about recovery, blood flow, foam rolling, stretching, yada yada yada… I will start my new 5/3/1 next week with my zercher pin pulls! =D Here was tonights workout:

FULL Parisi warm-up

Wall sits (30-45 seconds)
supersetted with
Standing Cable Rows 12 reps @ 135 lbs
3x total

Pushups with T Rotation (10 reps)
supersetted with
Back Extensions w/ nice hamstring stretch (12 reps)
3x total

Then this madness:

I did my first set of 8 with the pushup and then took the pushup out and did two more sets of 12. That’s not me in the video (obviously) but Jim does happen to be talking about me in the background! haha…

DONE!

Stretching and then my massage… ahhh…

Ughhh…I’m am dying of envy re: your massages.

Just looked up the Parisi warm up method - good stuff. We do some of this during training, but no reason why not to incorporate it during lifting. Thanks for that!

Sooo jealous about this whole Mike Robertson pilgrimage(yes, he has quite a following).

Why are you so lucky?

why?

Mascherano - you are welcome! I definitely slack at times and don’t get all the way through the warm-up but when I do, my ass is firing like crazy and I am sweating before the workout even starts! It’s great when I have time to get through it all! =D

Skye - I know! I am pumped! And it’s part luck, part knowing the right people, and in this case, it’s paying $150 =D

So my Coach Jim put me through a BRUTAL workout today… I probably sound like a wuss… but it was rough!
I only had 20 minutes so rest was almost NIL between all sets of all exercises…

Rack Pulls 3 sets of 12 reps
supersetted with
Pushup shuffles (do a pushup, walk your hands and feet to the right, do another, and walk them back to the left, repeat)
2 sets of 8-12 reps
then 1 set of 6 w/ a 20 lb chain

Front AND back foot elevated lunges (aka Bulgarian Split Squats) went DEEP on these 2 sets of 8-12 reps
supersetted with
Reverse Hyper 2 sets of 16 reps

Hanging Knee Raises while holding myself on the dip bars 1 set of 16
supersetted with
Med Ball Chops 1 set of 20 reps each side

Then I had to bolt… but I was POOPED! =D

Thanks Jimbo!

Anytime …

It doesn’t take much is you do the right things.

Have a safe trip !!!

Learn some for me please.

When it comes to lifting short and sweet is the way to go

Jim

Sounds like an excellent workout! Short and sweet and killer is always good.

Front and rear elevated on the split squat is awesome! I wanted to try that b/c I love the BSS, but I was nervous about getting that deep. Good stuff!

Start slow especally as tight as you are. You can always do them statically (as a hold). With foam rolling and glute activation between sets for added fun

Holy fuck, I would never have conceived of this particular brand of pain.

So we got back from the trip several ago… it was SOOOO AWESOME! My poor boyfriend had to listen to me ramble for over an hour about everything we did… how fun it was… how much I learned… blah blah blah! But he was a super good sport and was really happy to see me so excited and passionate about it. =D

Not surprisingly… CBear and I actually have many of the same issues… weak glutes, weak abs, tight hips, and tight ankles. Except my ankles are CRAZYYYYYYY tight and hers are just a bit tight. I also have EXTREMELY tight forearms… which don’t seem to cause any problems (right now) but I sure as hell can’t front squat will the bar in my hands and my elbows up or anything like that, and I would like to and it’s something I want to fix just for the simple fact of being more balanced.

I knew about the tight ankles before this visit… which is the reason that I can’t squat with a close stance unless my heels are elevated… but Bill Hartman showed me a really cool move that actually shifts the bones in my ankle a bit and immediately gives me 5-10 degrees more movement. I am supposed to do it before my workouts and will actually probably be doing it on my off days as well.

We are supposed to get our programs in a few days and we are all very excited to receive them!!! =D

There is so much more to write… but I don’t know where to start really… so please ask any questions you have about the visit… I would love to answer them!
